Well, this is going to be a tough Hip Camp to beat. I enjoyed my first minute through my last. Made a new buddy with owner and host Con. What a property. What an experience. So laid back and relaxing at my spot near the creek. Murph and Furgus the dogs only increased my enjoyment even more. Thank you Con and stay in touch!

Murphys Peaceful Cranbrook Campsite
We really enjoyed our three-night stay at this beautiful, remote and peaceful ranch.
Privacy is king.
Even though we had some pretty noisy neighbors, the campsite itself felt spacious and private, which was a huge plus compared with most campgrounds we’ve stayed at.
Clean and well-thought-out facilities.
There’s a clean bathroom with a hot shower and plenty of supplies, and laundry is also available.
An amazing host.
We absolutely loved being welcomed by Angela. She introduced us to all her lovely pets and even treated us to fresh eggs from her chickens at a very reasonable price.
The only thing to keep in mind is the road nearby. Without it, the place would feel completely wild and remote. There were only a few cars passing by, though, and they didn’t bother us much.
The easy access by car to a campsite and surprisingly good cell reception made our stay even more comfortable.
And for sauna lovers, this place is a little paradise! For just some extra payment, you can enjoy a wood-fired sauna for 2–4 people right on the bank of a mountain creek. After warming up in the sauna, you can jump straight into the freezing, crystal-clear water. Absolutely unforgettable!

This was our second summer staying at Murpheys Gold Creek Ranch, this time we stayed for a week so we got to know the place well. We loved it the first short time to come back for a longer stay. It is a beautiful property and home, but there were some things I personally feel could be improved.
There is 1 bathroom to share for however many people camping, it was August long and there were lots of groups and people. The bathroom was not cleaned everyday and I cleaned it myself a few times before using it. The laundry room is confusing it says "no public entry" but then personally are told by them to fill up our water in there, and other campers told us that is also where to put the garbage. There are pets that roam the property that are very sweet but can be a hassle, but the owners were apologetic and did seem to already understand it may be a nuisance sometimes.
Both stays times upon arrival, no one was there, and others had problems similar and came and asked us what was up. The sites should be marked and preplanned if the owners are not doing a customary check in.
Charging $30/day for sauna use is a bit excessive. Last year it was $20 for the whole stay which seemed quite fair.
Overall, Con and his wife are lovely people and the property is wonderful, generally restful, and I appreciate the amenities.
I do however think business wise some things could be improved.
We may stay again, or go explore other parts of Kootney.

Beautiful campsite with a homely vibe. Beautiful creek as well! Owners were extremely accommodating and helped guide us to fun local activities, namely kayaking at a local lake. We also loved the sauna!

Lots of great camping spots at Murphy's creek campground. Beautiful settings and great set up by Cran Murphy. We would recommend this place to anyone that needs camping in the Cranbrook area!

This is a very welcoming and private camping area just below the hosts, beautiful home and has a great bathroom and shower that the guest can use and many of the campsites are Creekside where you can swim in a swimming holeand use the sauna for a daily fee, it was beautiful welcoming. The host were amazing and I would love to come back there.

The ranch is truly beautiful and wonderfully peaceful. Murphy was welcoming, friendly, and accommodating, providing us with a tour of the property and ample firewood. The fresh eggs were also delightful. We'd love to go back.

We loved Murphy's Creek and were very sad that we only had one night there - it is the kind of place that one can breathe out, and we plan to return for a longer stay.
It is set in beautiful surroundings and the campsites are very clean and neat. Con is a friendly and helpful host, and I would certainly recommend Murphy's Creek. We loved the company of Murphy, Angus and Ginger.
A recommendation to other campers is to check directions with Cornelius before setting out as we asked Google and she sent us on a rather round-about route.

This place is a hidden bit of paradise! The hospitality and amenities are wonderful— super peaceful and pretty. Very well maintained and every thing you need. Idyllic spot; wonderful hosts. Top choice in this area for sure! Zero stress.
I loved camping on Cornelius’s land! The spot my dog and myself chose was next to a creek and it was a hidden gem, absolutely a peaceful place! I will make sure to visit this gem next time I’m in town! He was extremely helpful and owns the sweetest dog! Thank you, Cornelius!!

tayed at Murphy’s Gold Creek Ranch in Wardner, BC and it was amazing! The site is beautiful, with a creek running right alongside the campground, so peaceful to fall asleep to. They have two super cute, friendly dogs on site that’ll happily keep you company. Bonus: they sell the freshest eggs right there, easily the best I’ve had camping. Showers and facilities were clean and well maintained too. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing, well-run spot

Really nice property. Perfect spot, had the whole camping area to ourselves. Very nice host, and beautiful property. Long gravel road out to property but we had a small car and still worked well.
I loved everything about this hipcamp. Beautiful and tranquil setting, nice shower and toilet facilities, wonderful host, excellent sauna followed by a cold plunge in the creek. Highly recommend!
This site, and entire property was do wonderful! I would love to come back and camp here for more than a night, and the hosts were the sweetest and super helpful!!
Make sure you enter on Gold Creek Road. Great people and restful place. I would recommend this if your in the area. Look for the large Murphy sign and your there.

Absolutely beautiful place to stay. The host was extremely nice and welcoming. Very quiet surrounding with the beautiful sounds of the creek in the background. Owners dogs came to visit quite a bit and were very friendly and adorable. Overall, very pleased with my stay and would 100% come back again!!
