We had such a wonderful stay at this Hipcamp! The property is absolutely beautiful, and you can tell the owners take immense pride in caring for it. They were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and as a couple of ladies travelling together, finding a place where we genuinely felt safe and comfortable means a lot. This campsite checked every box.
The amenities were fantastic—having power, a shower, garbage disposal, and even Wi-Fi made our stay so convenient and enjoyable. The hosts struck the perfect balance of being attentive and available without ever being intrusive.
It’s clear how much love and effort goes into maintaining this property, and it truly enhances the entire experience. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, well-kept, and welcoming place to camp.

We loved camping at this spot, one of the best camp trips we've ever had. Great, friendly hospitality from Dean and Debbie and everything you would need for a great camping experience, including chopped firewood, wifi and drinking water right by the site. Beautiful sunrise and sunsets as well, and a lovely lounge area for cooking/washing dishes/hanging out, we will definitely return again when possible!

Just a lovely property up in the hills and quiet. Our spot was large and grassy and felt like home. The owners were amazing as well.

This place and its charming host are very wonderful.
We would love to come back – but next time for a longer stay. It’s the perfect spot to truly relax and unwind.

Super accomodating host. Site was very close to hot springs (free !) which was cool. Host attended to our needs without being over the top.

Wild Turkey Nest
Our stay at the Wild Turkey Nest was one of the highlights of our journey on the Selkirk Loop. The campsite was spacious and had everything we could need, and the host was welcoming and informative. Our evening sitting in the old barn watching the sun set on the mountains was amazing. Would definitely stay here again!

The set up was amazing, the views were excellent, and the hosts were incredibly friendly. The shower house was clean and appreciated. Wood, water, and electricity are available to those who need it. It was a very nice stay for us. We were just staying the night while traveling along the Selkirk Loop. We had a delightful conversation with Dean. He shared his connection and knowledge of the area as well as the future plans for the site. Overall, it was a very comfortable stay. We would highly recommend it for anyone who is passing through the area.

The place is amazing and very well maintained. Landscape is beautiful and facilities are very easy to reach. We saw a beautiful turkey too! The hosts are super nice. Absolutely reccomended.

I camp almost every weekend in the spring and summer and Blacktail Ridge is hands down the best camping spot I have had in Canada/US in the 3 years I have been here. The sites themselves are massive. Most other campsites try to cram 5 sites into the size of Blacktails sites. The toilets and showers are clean, hot and very well maintained. The firewood is dry, great quality and burns hot for hours. The property overall is spectacular, clean and green. Best of all are the hosts! Dean had a lifetime of knowledge and shared some valuable info on the local area that helped me a ton. Debbie was quick to reply to any questions I had and Zach gave me a great introduction to the property. I will go back and stay here every time I'm in the area and am looking forward to it! Thanks Dean, Deb and Zach for setting the bar:)

My campsite was huge! Complete with picinic table, fire ring and chairs, hammock, electricity and water. Bathroom and shower house nearby was immaculate and groomed trails for hiking. Calm and peaceful yet host was available for any questions. Super well maintained and host was extremely hospitable. Beautiful view of the mountains. Perfect!

My husband, two daughters and dog stayed here for 7 nights and had a fantastic trip. We loved that it was super private and peaceful and the hosts were welcoming and Friendly. The site as nicely treed in and we had the added bonus of potable water and power onsite. We saw some deers, and of course the wild turkeys right on our site. It is how camping should be. We would definitely recommend it and hope to make it back.

My husband, two young daughters, dog and I stayed for 7 nights and really enjoyed it. Debbie and Dean were great hosts and the site was peaceful and private. Camping here is how camping used to be. There was potable water and power on site and the shower was an added bonus for our longer stay. We would definitely recommend this place and hope to make it back in the future.

A wonderful new site with great facilities. A stunning view of the hills. Even spotted some epic wildlife which thrilled our kids. Dean was so welcoming and knowledgeable about the area.

This is one of our favorite places to stay! Super private, great restrooms and showers. Firewood for fires, a hammock and chairs around the fire. Absolutely gorgeous views and the friendliest people you could meet!

This is the coolest place! Probably my favorite camping spot ever. Beautiful, private, very well cared for. There was a fire started for us when we arrived. Showers and bathrooms fantastic. This is a must stay!

Amazing nighttime views. The fairly lights around the site were lovey. Our host offered to start a fire in advance of our arrival, but we were too pooped to accept the offer. Nice clean showers and privy.

Debbie and Dean were amazing hosts! Super friendly and very helpful for me traveling on my motorcycle. The view from my site was absolutely stunning, I could look at for hours.
My dinner guests included wild turkeys and their chickens.. loved it.
Great little store at the bottom of their road to get food and gas.
