The Portal is 18 feet long and 8 feet wide and is your very own private space. Featuring a beautiful deck for relaxation, reading, star gazing, yoga, or alfresco dining, with the interior offering a queen bed, sofa small table and two chairs. Oh so cozy and romantic. There is a fancy outhouse that flushes water and is equipped with a sink. This space is best suited for a single, a couple, and possibly a fur baby and/or little one. We are located on a quiet residential street 20 minutes from Port Alberni and en route to Tofino or Ucluelet. We have walking and mountain biking trails minutes from the house. If you are bringing a fur baby, please let us know. It must be on a leash at all times. Please bring your fur baby's favourite blanket or bed to sleep on. We kindly ask that you keep your fur baby off the furniture and bed, and that you please not leave your pet unattended. The Portal has internet and spotty cell service. There is an outlet for charging, etc. Parking is on-site. Local food options include the "The Fish & Duck Pub" which is just a short walk away. We absolutely loved our stay at the lovely little cabin – it was all super comfy, and exactly what we needed. It was great to have the picnic table outside. We set up our propane stove and cooked ourselves some yummy dinner and breakfast. The raspberries were ripe in the garden and super tasty! Absolutely loved the earthship tour – thank you so much Susan and Tony for a wonderful stay and for sharing your home and your passion!

Camping here was such a joyful and relaxing experience! The hosts are so welcoming, caring and most helpful. We loved the location in the woods, close to beautiful trails and a quiet beach. Taking a tour of their place added inspiration and a new perspective. As an unexpected but meaningful bonus, I enjoyed an evening full of music, strumming along with friendly and talented people. The Maple Cabin is such a sweet spot, nestled on Susan and Tony’s land with a lovely view of the trees and the sounds of songbirds. The bed was comfy and the space warm and inviting. Just a note, If you want more than a shared pit toilet, consider booking the other cabin with a bathroom.

I loved my stay at the portal! So close to the lake, perfect for a morning swim - close to town to get groceries/food, on a very quiet road (probably one of the best sleeps I’ve had in a long time). Host was kind and helpful! Would recommend for a couple or a solitary stay (would be a great place to use as a writing retreat, I will have to book again!)

Such an awesome place. The hand-built cabin is beautiful, cozy, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It was the perfect quiet home base for exploring the area, and we loved being surrounded by nature. The horses next door were a bonus—especially for our dog! Rose and Greg were incredibly kind, welcoming, and easy to communicate with. You can tell they genuinely care about creating a great experience for their guests. We’d happily stay here again.

It was a comfortable stay at the Maple cabin with my wife and pup. Our tenting days are coming to an end. Having a cabin is helping the transition.

Weekend Trip to Camas Creek Retreat

Wonderful, secluded spot not too far from the Galloping Goose. The space is beautifully set up and maintained. A highlight was the outdoor shower. Heloise, Ruth, and Scott were all lovely and extremely responsive. I would highly recommend staying here for a getaway that feels off the beaten track, but that’s not too far from the food, trails, breweries and other fun activities around Victoria!

My husband and I loved our time at Camas Creek. The room was clean and cozy, the shower was amazing and the kitchen was perfect for preparing simple meals.
