Dashwood Meadows

We had a lovely stay on Amanda’s farm! She was communicative beforehand and very friendly on arrival. It’s a very peaceful and well-kept site. The large fenced in area was perfect for my toddler and dog to explore! And my son loved the sheep and donkey next to the camp. It’s a fab place to take little kids to stay.

Amanda was an amazing host! We booked the site with our dog, and it was very accommodating to all of our needs. The site itself was spacious, peaceful, and nicely shaded by the surrounding trees. One of our favourite parts was being neighbours with the goats and their donkey! Don’t forget to say hello to Speedle, the friendly guardian dog. We also had the chance to walk around the property, visit the chickens, and check out the beautiful flower garden. Qualicum Beach is less than a 10-minute drive away, where you can find plenty of great food spots and even one of BC’s smallest microbreweries! I would highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a peaceful, dog-friendly getaway with a little farm charm and some adorable animals nearby. We really enjoyed our stay!

Amanda was very welcoming host. She accommodated us perfectly even though we arrived late. The site was peaceful and tidy. Outhouse was clean and well equipped. A guardian Shepard dog greeted us on our entry, very friendly! but watch out for the tail wags, it will melt you😊. 3 more sheeps welcomed us and a donkey greeted us in the morning. Our dog had a lot of fun meeting new friends.

Great spot for camping with your dog! Fully fenced area with access to an additional fenced area was such a treat! Amanda is such a sweet person, attentive and easy to work with. Lots of shade in our area and cool nights were a welcome break from the warmer days! Close to local attractions and hiking too! We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend!

Amanda was lovely, the dog and donkey was so nice. It’s great to have running water, a compost and bottle recycling. This would be so fun for a family !!!!!!! The property was beautiful :)

Amazing farm stay experience

Our stay at Dashwood Meadows was even better than advertised. It was the perfect place to unwind and enjoy a peaceful farm experience. The host Amanda is incredibly welcoming and encouraged us to explore the beautiful property grounds and spend time with all the friendly animals, which made the stay feel extra special. The composting toilet was spotless and freshened regularly, something we really appreciated. The location is also ideal for exploring this beautiful area of Vancouver Island while still offering a quiet, relaxing retreat at the end of the day. We would highly recommend Dashwood Meadows to anyone looking for a unique, relaxing Hipcamp experience. We can’t wait to return!

Wonderful and peaceful stay. Amanda and Pavel were gracious hosts with a lovely farm. My travel friend and I enjoyed the open space, privacy and overall feel of the place. Loved the sweet donkey and gentle chicken, Muffin. Would love to stay here again.

This was such a quaint place to stay on Vancouver Island that I stayed an extra night. I really appreciated the fenced area to camp so my dog could roam off leash. The donkey and goats added so much to the stay. The host was lovely to talk with and very responsive.

Sweet farm stay

Very sweet farm, Amanda was welcoming and the folks that also live on the property were lovely. Site was sunny bit big trees. Composting toilet was great and the farm animals were a total bonus. There was a burn ban while we were visiting the island but Amanda said contained campfires are allowed. She also let our kid watch sheep shearing. Would stay again if we come back to the island. Thanks Amanda!

Wow what an amazing place to stay. This isn't just a place to camp, but was an entire experience. Can't recommend enough for families. Amanda + co were so welcoming to my wife, daughter and I. Got to feed chickens, donkey, sheep and just had a really relaxing visit. Will be back!

A Change of Pace

We had a fabulous 2 nights at Dashwood Meadows. A clean, comfortable experience with all the amenities we needed. We loved walking the property with the animals and waking up to such a peaceful environment. The campsite was ideal. Sun, shade, a picnic table, firepit, potanle water, and the best was the composting toilet. You won't regret a stay with Amanda and her farm friends!

We all had such a lovely time camping at dashwood meadows. Huge campsites with plenty of space for little ones to wander around. The children enjoyed seeing all the farm animals and eating plums from the trees. What a gem of a place. Amanda is such a lovely host. Would highly recommend and would come back to this location.

We Loved staying at Dashwood Meadows! It was a very relaxing experience. The kids loved the animals, especially the donkey. It was fun to pick some of the uber delicious plums from the trees. Amanda was very helpful, she recommended a nearby hike that was the perfect length for the little ones. Definitely recommend a stay… thanks Amanda!

We really enjoyed our night at Dashwood Meadows. Nice and quiet, but easy to access from Hwy 19. Loved the setting—beautiful trees, interesting gardens and a sweet donkey that ambles back and forth in the paddock next to the camping area. Amanda is a very welcoming host
