Weekend Trip to Duck Creek Farm

We had an absolute blast at Sue's farm! We basically had an entire private area to ourselves in the tee pee and it was the perfect little getaway for me, my spouse and my dog. They were very welcoming and even had a pretty cool jewelry. Fair. The one afternoon. We explored the whole property and we're really happy with our decision to stay. I definitely recommend upgrading to the tee pee as it was the perfect balance of camping and comfort.

Calm Chaos Forest Retreat is a very unique property located down a calm and peaceful road in beautiful Maple Bay. With a few acres to explore, the property offers enough space to go for a walk in the forest, visit the neighbouring cows and resident wildlife, have a fire by the pond, or simply relax in the passionately renovated trailer. The trailer itself has all one could need, with a comfortable bed, kitchen, running water, TVs, AC, etc. Within the trailer’s fenced courtyard, there’s a hot tub, lots of covered and uncovered patio space, a bbq, and more. The yard itself is an open air museum of sorts, with lots of statues and memorabilia to take in, made clear by the two large parrots that greet you when you arrive at the property. And speaking of parrots, there’s four real-life, living macaws co-hosting alongside the charming human hosts, Steven and Mimi. The macaws are not only beautiful, but full of personality. Nearby Maple Bay offers a nice beach to swim and relax at, as well as a pub, hiking trails, and disc golf. Overall, Calm Chaos is a really eclectic place worth a visit.

Weekend Trip to Duck Creek Farm

Amazing!! Sir was lovely and friendly. The farm is gorgeous and the TP is super comfortable. It rained pretty hard both nights and we were cosy and dry the whole time. I will definitely come back :-)

Tina argued that the potties had been cleaned the day before we arrived. It was obvious they hadn’t. Instead of tidying immediately. She waited for the next day for her staff to arrive. If you’re going to be a host, there are things that need to be done while cleaning staff are gone. Especially when the washrooms are unusable. I wouldn’t be surprised if people were just urinating all over her property while waiting almost 24 hours for them to be cleaned.

Weekend Trip to Oceans Edge Eagle Retreat

My friend Melissa and I absolutely loved our stay at this retreat. We had the pleasure of meeting Tina, the owner, who was incredibly kind and welcoming. She even showed us a fascinating eagle's nest on the property, which was such a unique experience! We left feeling completely relaxed and refreshed—just what we needed to reset before heading back to work. We’re already looking forward to coming back next year!

1 night at Camas Creek Retreat

From the time we arrived, we were welcomed like family! We were given a tour of the grounds, and told about the local tress, nature and culture. We were introduced to the family of chickens on the farm, as well as the wild bunnies running everywhere! The amenities were amazing, we loved the outdoor hot shower and the outdoor kitchen. The sleeping area was perfect for us two. The hostess’ showed us their amazing garden and shared some of her super amazing lettuce with us too! When we are back, we will ensure we stay here again! Thank you so much for the great sleep and location!

We had the absolute pleasure of Hipcamping at Camas Creek while in town for a nearby wedding, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed—not just by our gracious hosts, but also later by the resident dog, cat, and friendly chickens who instantly made us feel at home. The outdoor kitchen was a standout feature—fully stocked and perfect for cooking up a hearty breakfast. We especially loved the unique shower with its stunning "natural wall"—such a beautiful touch that made even a simple rinse feel luxurious. The cabin was bright and airy, thanks to windows on every side, yet still felt cozy and private with blinds throughout. Every detail made it clear that care and love had gone into creating this peaceful retreat. Our only regret? That we couldn’t stay longer. (PS Hi Ruth—you made our stay extra special!)

Our stay at Anneth Farm was the perfect way to kick off our cozy couple’s getaway on Vancouver Island. From the moment we stepped into the loft, we were in awe—the space is absolutely stunning, even more magical than the photos suggest. Waking up to the sight of horses just outside our window was the most serene way to start each day—truly the cherry on top of an already idyllic stay. The kitchen was thoughtfully stocked with the cookware essentials we needed, and we enjoyed preparing a delicious breakfast on the hot plate without a hitch. After a day of exploring, the clawfoot tub was a welcome retreat—such a luxurious touch. Even the composting toilet impressed us: simple, odorless, and eco-friendly. We also loved wandering the property and visiting the sweet, curious goats—what a treat! We wouldn’t hesitate to return to this beautiful Hipcamp. Anneth Farm is a true gem.

Beautiful one bedroom cabin with outdoor kitchen and shower. The outdoor elements were refreshing and restorative, and the host was really helpful with local information. Just a few notes for clarity: 1) the pullout mattress fits at the foot of the bed in the one bedroom (i.e., all sleepers share a single room). 2) while the cabin itself is private, you are only 15 ft away from the main house on the property, which looks down over the cabin. 3) the rooster on the property will crow before dawn, so bring earplugs :).

We absolutely loved staying in this Bunkie and found Nairn to be very responsive and helpful. It had everything we needed and was really cosy. The washroom and kitchen were both amazing and incredibly well equipped. We had a wonderful night sitting around the campfire under the stars listening to the frogs. Would definitely recommend it to anyone.

West Coast Retreat at Anneth Farm

Welcome to our secluded little farm paradise. We are located on the west side of the W̱SÁNEĆ Peninsula on the main drive, West Saanich Road. Close to the beaches Coles Bay and Patricia Bay and a 12-minute drive to Sidney and the village of Brentwood Bay. We have 3 accommodations offerings here on HipCamp: (1) Tent camping in the fenced forest meadow (2) Car camping at selected sites around the farm (3) The Barn Loft private guest suite {1. The Camping Meadow} The meadow is a 1/2 acre fully-fenced, flat forest dell. There is a water spigot and an electrical outlet. It can host up to 3 tents. It is tent camping only - no vehicles allowed in the meadow. West Saanich Road can be a bit loud at night in the summer. If you have sensitive hearing, we encourage earplugs and/or camping at the farthest west end of the meadow. {2. Car Camping} The Cedar Grove is a private camp site with room for a regular vehicle (not an RV) and a tent. It is our only spot where you may camp next to your vehicle. {3. The Barn Loft Guest Suite} The Barn Loft Guest Suite is a beautiful restored hay loft with a double bed, a pull-out sofa, a kitchenette, and a living room and dining area. It is equipped with a composting toilet. Those staying at the Loft can also use the shared farm washroom. {Shared Washroom} The washroom is the shared washroom inside the farmhouse on the ground/basement floor, with a flush toilet and luxury shower. It is a short walk from the camping meadow, inside the heritage farmhouse. Please note that while inside the farmhouse basement, only the washroom is available for public use. Entering other areas of the basement is prohibited, as these are private living spaces. {Farm Fun} We have five horses, a tiny pony, chickens, a few goats and a flock of sheep. You are welcome to respectfully meet the animals with us - it is not permitted to meet the animals without a guide. DM us if you want to say hi to the animals and we will arrange a time. Please understand, there are safety protocols that need to be followed around horses. Eggs and lamb meat are also available for sale. DM us to order. Enjoy your stay on our beautiful west coast.

In a cedar grove, nestled among the ferns, a lotus belle tent awaits you. A unique bed and breakfast in an off-grid tent. Inside the belle tent there is a comfortable double bed with clean sheets, plump pillows, and a warm Pendelton blanket. A 'west coast homestead basket' with granola, fruit ,and farm eggs is provided for a nutritious breakfast. A Berkey water filter provides delicious water from our mountain well. Inside the tent, a comfortable chair looks out over the mossy forest toward the creek. There is room to stretch, and a couple of yoga mats to use. A stretch is especially nice after exploring the nearby trails through Mount Maxwell forest. The trails take through a varied and fascinating forest. Along the way are mossy knolls with vistas of the valley, ocean, and Vancouver Island. One trail leads all the way to Burgyone Bay. The belle is an off-grid seasonal tent with electric candles for lighting and a composting toilet. At night there are solar string lights--should you want them--which illuminate the path to the tent. On clear nights, turn the lights off to star-gaze through the branches.

We affectionately call this place “The Tardis” because its transformation from an RV, gutted into a modern cozy hi tech space with a cozy county feel, an outdoor kitchen / living / dining / hot tub areas in a forest setting. It’s got super high speed Internet, 2 TVs, a faux fireplace. Inside a live edge old growth cedar counter with Italian tile, modern connected features, fireplace, heat pump, flooring and great feel. Private inside a 5 acre estate with grounds and a private forest. Everyone loves this space. Tech wise there is super fast ethernet straight to the unit at around 600 download for zoom calls. There is also a super fast wifi for exclusive mobility, 2 flat screen TVs, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney Plus. The space is really idea for 2 people however there are 2 bunk beds in a smaller space that could accomidate smaller children or other smaller stature adults that don't mind a small bunk bed sleeping area. A lot of remote worker like this place. It's faster and quieter than home surrounded by nature. We've focused on the outdoor area covered and private decks outside giving it the feel of an outdoor living, complete with a new BBQ, outdoor living room / seating area / kitchen. There is a private soft tub for comfy soaks.
