Decourcy Meadows is a peaceful forested site within a short walking distance to a safe local swimming beach. We are an RV-only campsite. The site is level and can accommodate vehicles up to 40ft in length. Electrical, sewage, and potable water hookups included. Amenities include a picnic table, wifi and a fire ring and some fire wood supplied at no cost. If there is a campfire ban in effect we will provide a propane campfire. The property is about half natural forest and so it's not unusual to see local critters, large and small peeking out! There are several hiking trails in the area and local parks as well. There are 3 artisans on Decourcy Drive. The world-famous Crow and Gate pub is 4 km from here and the historic Wheat Sheaf Hotel (Pub) is about 5 km. Local restaurants and Cafes, Groceries, Pharmacy are 5 km. We are a quiet country getaway located 25 minutes from Nanaimo Departure Bay Ferry Terminal. Duke Point Terminal is about 20 minutes. Picturesque town of Ladysmith is about 25 minutes south and the very Unique town of Chemainus is 35 minutes and very worth seeing.

Learn more about this land: Wild Coast has 2 nightly campsites for you to enjoy. Site one is a large, flat open gravel base. And Site 2 is a large, flat grass based site. Please note you must have your own trailer or tent. We’re a 5-10 minute drive to Rathtrevor beach/Parksville, Englishman River. We are right in the middle of an extensive trail network perfect for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding.  Both sites have plenty of space for RVs and trailers - we can accommodate vehicles up to 45ft in length. 30 amp Electrical and potable water hookups are available on both sites. WI-FI onsite as well. There is a flush toilet and sink available in our farm store that is available for guest use. No shower yet, but we are working on it! The property is private yet close to all amenities. Local favorite Rocking Horse Pub is a quick walk next door and a must-stop for dinner and drinks!  Centrally located on Vancouver Island, it’s a perfect spot to set up the rig and day trip out to Rathtrevor, Little Qualicum, Parksville, Coombs, Port Alberni valley and Nanaimo, or go for an overnighter in Victoria, Tofino, Mount Washington and the Comox Valley. Campfires are permitted as long as there is no fire ban and we have dry firewood for sale onsite. If you would like firewood send us a message before you arrive. Pets are welcome, but please be responsible for them. There is a large open grass field for you to let them run and burn off that energy. My property is a magical private nature retreat created in the spirit of love and reverence for the land on which it is built. It is a sanctuary to nurture the body, mind and spirit. A place to come back to One's Self. I have taken a piece of forest and transformed it into a Premium camping experience with pastures, terraces, pathways, a pond and island, level campsites with grass and sand and a communal outdoor pavilion lounge with fully stocked kitchen at your disposal. I have a sauna, communal campfire area and solar showers too. This is a magnificent place to bring the kids, a wonderful place to hang with friends and family, a peaceful place for lovers and a great place to come on your own to remember how awesome and talented you really are. I can accommodate larger groups, workshops, parties and special events. Ask me about renting the entire site for your private event and family & friend gatherings. Please note, these are walk-in campsites. Park and make a short walk to your beautiful campsite. One large grass pasture is available upon request for car, campervan and RV camping. My fully stocked pavilion, kitchen and lounge have all the cookware, dishware and utensils needed to prepare your meal. There is a BBQ and Coleman stove with propane provided. Drinking water is provided. Firewood is sold on site. Propane fire pit rentals available. I have cold showers and seasonal warm solar showers. Plus an aquifer-fed pond for clean, cold water dips. If you want something a little fancier I have a great little off-grid camping cabin and a 20 foot Bell Tent. Ask me about them. Direct access to world class mountain bike trails. A sauna is available for rent. The Gertie Bus is located a 5 min walk to a beautiful white sand beach (at low tide). There are walking trails all around and lots of beach access. Tucked into the front of our property in the quiet of Gabriola island you’ll find the converted Gertie bus with all the amenities you need. The bus has a gas stovetop/oven, bar fridge and sink with grey water system. Equipped kitchen and sofa area to hang out. The standard queen bed is great for sleeping in and relaxing with that second cup of coffee. Mountain biking, hiking, swimming and whale watching are just steps away. There is beach access across the street through a private park with picnic tables, a very old eagles nest and a private access to a rocky beach perfect for sunsets. The home itself has a pottery studio on the main floor with a full time studio Practice. Give Paige a ring if you’d like a tour, she’s usually working away. Our family lives on the top floor. Outside the bus is are lush veggie gardens, fruit trees and a nice private outdoor dining area. A BBQ and solar lights also help with evening hangouts. Family friendly! Also we love animals but we ask that you clean up after your pet and keep any animals that aren’t so great with kids and other animals on leash. We have a dachshund on the property that is friendly and old ( barks at strangers but is all bark I assure you, he just wants to be friends)

We stayed two nights at Christian’s beautiful cabin. Christian is super helpful and responsive as a host. Cabin was clean, warm and cozy with the firewood stove. Campground too was clean and well maintained. The composting toilet is a little daunting for the us first timers. Overall, highly recommend it if you are want a true off-the-grid experience

Raysong's Quail Cabin was a sweet place to rest and reset. There's clearly been a lot of care invested into the space and it's also a dream to have the opportunity to hang out with well-loved animals. The hosts were gracious and responsive. We would definitely return if we visit the area again.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Our Second Year at Tiny Secrets Retreat — and We Can’t Wait to Come Back! This was our second year coming to Tiny Secrets Retreat, and once again, it did not disappoint! This place truly feels like a peaceful little sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of the city. One of the things we absolutely love is how easy and relaxing the experience is. We can simply bring our own food and everything else is supplied for us. It takes so much of the work and stress out of camping while still giving us that wonderful feeling of being away in nature. It’s the perfect escape when you just want to unplug, slow down, and breathe. We stayed in the glamping tent, which was lovely. We did have a bit of a run-in with some very persistent raccoons during our stay, but what really stood out to us was how quickly and thoughtfully the hosts responded. They immediately moved us into the convertible bus, and WOW! What an incredible cozy space! It was absolutely phenomenal and gave us the restful, comfortable stay we needed. The hosts’ customer service is exceptional. They genuinely care about their guests and go above and beyond to make sure you’re comfortable and having a great experience. That kind of hospitality makes such a difference. After the craziness and hustle of city life, Tiny Secrets Retreat is exactly what we needed .... a place to relax, recharge, enjoy nature, and simply do nothing for a while. This was a lovely spot we found last minute, host was friendly and accommodating and responded quickly. We appreciated the fenced in garden space for our dog and the extra touches of the outdoor kitchen and although we didn’t use shower house.. we definitely will next time when we cone back for a mtb adventure with property so close to trails. Love that this is a farm animal sanctuary and proceeds go back into caring for the animals. We’ll be back.

Campsite is located only 15 mins away from the ferry terminal. Site is big and can accommodate bigger group although there was only the 2 of us plus our dog. We loved the covered outdoor kitchen space and wooden platforms to pitch our tent on. Place is quiet and have great privacy. Would love to be back!

2 nights at The Camp at Kitchensink Farm

Such a beautiful stay in one of my favourite places! I’m so incredibly grateful to have found this spot. The camper was cute and had everything we needed to enjoy meals and sleep comfortably. My dogs were able to have a little yard and we set up a propane fire to enjoy under the stars. The property itself is stunning and close to all your needs. Gumboot cafe, the pier, beaches, Sunday cider, trails as well as a good proximity to explore more of the coast on little day adventures. We also really enjoyed going to Jeans organic foods which was super close and had so many vegan grocery items and other tasty things which was helpful and healthy. I of course had to visit some thrift shops which also were very accessible. The sanctuary for the rescued animals was my favourite. So much love and compassion and patience and empathy go into providing for these deserving lives. It was truly heartwarming and definitely filled my cup seeing what Kitchensink has done in creating a safe and nurturing space but most of all, a second chance. I highly recommend a stay here. The fact that it goes towards helping this sanctuary provide is even more of a reason other than it just being complete serenity. Thanks so much again for the hospitality and kindness and for trusting us in this paradise you have created. We felt at home!

Having the covered area (tent) was great for us as we were using the back of our car to sleep in. Gave us a place to eat and hang out. Close the road but the noise of that stopped pretty quickly. It felt private enough for us. We liked that we could walk to the town area and the pier. It is a pretty tight corner to get into. Wouldn’t want to try to get a trailer in there though. A great place to use when travelling the coast. Thanks Dave!
