Learn more about this land: Wild Coast has 2 nightly campsites for you to enjoy. Site one is a large, flat open gravel base. And Site 2 is a large, flat grass based site. Please note you must have your own trailer or tent. We’re a 5-10 minute drive to Rathtrevor beach/Parksville, Englishman River. We are right in the middle of an extensive trail network perfect for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding.  Both sites have plenty of space for RVs and trailers - we can accommodate vehicles up to 45ft in length. 30 amp Electrical and potable water hookups are available on both sites. WI-FI onsite as well. There is a flush toilet and sink available in our farm store that is available for guest use. No shower yet, but we are working on it! The property is private yet close to all amenities. Local favorite Rocking Horse Pub is a quick walk next door and a must-stop for dinner and drinks!  Centrally located on Vancouver Island, it’s a perfect spot to set up the rig and day trip out to Rathtrevor, Little Qualicum, Parksville, Coombs, Port Alberni valley and Nanaimo, or go for an overnighter in Victoria, Tofino, Mount Washington and the Comox Valley. Campfires are permitted as long as there is no fire ban and we have dry firewood for sale onsite. If you would like firewood send us a message before you arrive. Pets are welcome, but please be responsible for them. There is a large open grass field for you to let them run and burn off that energy. The Gertie Bus is located a 5 min walk to a beautiful white sand beach (at low tide). There are walking trails all around and lots of beach access. Tucked into the front of our property in the quiet of Gabriola island you’ll find the converted Gertie bus with all the amenities you need. The bus has a gas stovetop/oven, bar fridge and sink with grey water system. Equipped kitchen and sofa area to hang out. The standard queen bed is great for sleeping in and relaxing with that second cup of coffee. Mountain biking, hiking, swimming and whale watching are just steps away. There is beach access across the street through a private park with picnic tables, a very old eagles nest and a private access to a rocky beach perfect for sunsets. The home itself has a pottery studio on the main floor with a full time studio Practice. Give Paige a ring if you’d like a tour, she’s usually working away. Our family lives on the top floor. Outside the bus is are lush veggie gardens, fruit trees and a nice private outdoor dining area. A BBQ and solar lights also help with evening hangouts. Family friendly! Also we love animals but we ask that you clean up after your pet and keep any animals that aren’t so great with kids and other animals on leash. We have a dachshund on the property that is friendly and old ( barks at strangers but is all bark I assure you, he just wants to be friends)

You are choosing to camp in a forested area that contains many hazards as well as potential threats. These include but are not limited to; Wild life (bears, bob cats, cougars etc), Fire is a serious threat to this region during summer months strict no smoking policy is in effect. Care should be taken walking around uneven surfaces. All campers are required to stay within camp boundaries fail to follow these protocols will result in being asked to leave. Picturesque town of Ladysmith is about 25 minutes south and the very Unique town of Chemainus is 35 minutes and very worth seeing.

Gerald’s property is a special gem ! Private, peaceful, and excellent amenities- very much enjoyed having a hot outdoor shower. Tenting beside the tranquil pond, listening to the frogs and breeze through the trees while falling asleep was very relaxing. Gerald is a very helpful host, he even provided a kayak so I could explore the pond ! My pup & I had a wonderful time on this property. Especially adorable is the co-host Daisy, who will enthusiastically greet guests upon arrival and help guide you down to your site 🐶

Weekend Trip to Poplar Grove Family Farm

We loved camping at Poplar Grove! My husband and I stayed for 3 nights with our toddler and we all had a blast, from exploring the forest to seeing the beautiful sunflower field it was a very beautiful trip. We also particularly loved hearing the sheep baa'ing in the distance! Lisa was extremely accommodating and allowed us to check in an hour early when our GPS was inaccurate on our arrival time, she also lent us their propane firepit so we could still enjoy a fire while there was a fireban in the area. We will definitely be back next summer!

Weekend Trip to Little Cedar’s Hideaway

Location: just off BC Hwy 4 near 4-4A intersection and Old Country Market (Goats on the Roof). Nothing fancy, just level, gravel pads with full hookups. (Water spigot is heated.) Could use as a staging point for day trips. No other campers on night we were there. Quiet; no shade, no privacy. To clarify, sites listed as 30 amp or 50 amp are those amperage’s only, no other sockets. Yes, I would stay here again as a backup to a park campground or when I need to empty tanks.

Hmm. Alright, here’s a polished version you could post: We had such a wonderful stay at Kitchen Sink Farm and can’t recommend it enough. The campground was spotless, peaceful, and thoughtfully set up. Our RV had a brand new queen mattress that was super comfortable, a small stove that worked great, and a picnic table with an awning, chairs, and a cozy yard where we enjoyed meals and stargazed. The hot shower was excellent, and we loved the little touches, like the honesty station with shampoos and soaps. What truly made the stay special were the people. Communication was always prompt and warm, and Yvonne kindly gave us a tour of the sanctuary, introducing us to each of the animals —horses, cows, pigs, goats, geese, ducks, chickens, and more. That was a highlight of the trip. We were also touched by the beautiful Kitchen Sink Farm glass water bottles they gave each of us, a thoughtful gesture that reflects the kindness of the people who run it. Knowing that the campsite supports a nonprofit animal sanctuary made it feel even more meaningful. It’s also just minutes from Roberts Creek amenities like the pier and Gumboot Cafe, making it a perfect base for exploring the Sunshine Coast. We stayed two nights as a family and would happily return.

Easy to find and spacious sites. Really appreciated the access to laundry - wasn’t expecting that! I only stayed a night but it was a good place between pacific rim and Nanaimo. It’s close to a great coffee place just a couple minute drive away. There was a little dog that was loose on the property for a moment, it seemed nice/shy. I was getting ready to leave and didn’t have my dogs with me at that moment so not sure how it would have responded to them. Didn’t do much exploring because it was a stopover for me but it seems close to hikes, water etc. There’s also a Thai restaurant nearby but I didn’t try it. It was a great place to stay the night and do laundry!

This was hands-down the best campsite we’ve ever stayed at! 🌿✨ The campsite had just opened, we were the first campers there, and the owners truly went above and beyond to make our stay special. Our site was spacious, peaceful, and thoughtfully set up with a picnic table and two outdoor chairs—the perfect spot for watching the stars at night. There are two camping sites and one site with trailer. Each site is lit with solar lights after dark, which made the whole experience feel even more magical. The field kitchen and shower were well equipped, and we absolutely loved all the little details and personal touches throughout the property. One of the things that makes this place especially meaningful is that the owners run an animal rescue and sanctuary. Guests can take a tour of their farm, and by staying here, you’re directly supporting the important work they do. ❤️ The location is great too—close to the beach at Roberts Crek, and 20 min to the ferry, making it an ideal base for exploring the area. We can’t recommend this place enough. It’s peaceful, beautiful, thoughtfully designed, and run by wonderful people. Definitely worth a visit—and we’ll definitely be back! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Spacious sites & like that they are terraced. Rare not to have a huge lists of rules; we appreciated that. The proximity to Rathtrevor Provincial Park, Englishman River Falls & the Old Country Mart in Coombs was nice. Sites could use some privacy between them and some visual separation from host’s property would be great as there’s a bit of an industrial vibe there. Overall, a good stay.

Sehr angenehmer und ruhiger Ort mit nur 2 Stellplätzen. Wir haben es genossen, umgeben von einem Wäldchen und viel Grün. Ein Propanfeuer war auch für uns vorbereitet. Die Buchung war unkompliziert und eine Liste mit Tipps für die Umgebung lag auch bereit. Danke. Der kleine Strand in der Nähe mit vielen Baumstämmen hat was.
