Enjoy a convenient and relaxing base to discover the best of Hervey Bay at our 150-acre cattle grazing farm located just 3km outside of town, with plenty of space for campers. To access the farm, turn right off the Maryborough Highway into Chapel Rd, then turn right at the picnic table beside the bikeway, and do not drive over the cattle grid. We offer numerous camping sites on cleared land lined by trees, near to our gully and seasonal creek. Each site is private and offers plenty of space. Campers must be self-contained with their own camp toilet, but there is a 24/7 dump station just 2km away.
A stone's throw from the campsites is access to the mobility corridor/bike path, which takes you straight into Hervey Bay and continues all the way past the shops to Urangan pier, offering 15km of ocean frontage to explore.
Our farm is located about 2.5km from both hospitals (private and government) for any care that you may need. All specialists and consulting facilities are very convenient.
Next door to the campsites is our fantastic local cafe, The Depot Espresso Bar, open at 6 in the morning. They're happy to take orders for our campers from 5:30 if you knock! It's perfect for hopping on your bike from camp, grabbing your morning caffeine fix, and continuing on the day's biking adventure.
Campfires are permitted, but please BYO firepit, and there is plenty of fallen timber you are welcome to collect and split yourself. Pets are welcome too!
Kids under 5 stay free and don't need to be included in the booking group count. Check-in is welcome after 9 am and you can depart anytime.

Pets are welcome, we have 2 dogs Jesse and Cane, who are both very friendly. Our Maremma is an Italian breed of livestock gaurdian dog, he does bark a little at night to protect our pets, which goes hand in hand with all of our other farm noises 😉
Our Neighbours have fish farms, you may hear the odd gun go off, just to scare the shags away from feeding in the ponds. It's totally safe.
Feel free to put on some music and have a few drinks by the campfire, but we want our farm to be a place where our animals and our guests feel safe and relaxed, so we do not accommodate noisy parties.
Relax and unwind with a book or go for a bush walk and listen to the kookaburras. Watch Sea Eagles, pelican, wild budgies, rainbow lorikeet and more. All your cares will feel like they are a million miles away as you soak up nature, we guarantee you will have an amazing experience.

Rosgrow Farm, 15 minutes off the Bruce Highway, offers secluded campsites set on a large tidal creek. There are plenty of trees and shelter. The creek offers fishing, crabbing, kayaking, paddle-boarding, boating and swimming.
Fire pits and picnic areas make the sites perfect for evening relaxation with bird life and jumping fish, talking about the day's fishing or eating the day's crab catch.
Limited firewood is sometimes available. It can be bought at a reasonable price about 9km along the road towards Burrum Heads..
Campers must be self-contained with their own toilet and shower and need to remove their rubbish. Particularly suitable for RVs and caravans with own toilet.
Well suited for overnight travelers passing between Maryborough and Bundaberg, or others needing a few days rest, fishing or water activities.
Sandflies are a problem in this region anywhere near water, in the mornings until about 9am and in the evenings after about 3:30pm, so bring plenty of repellent and apply early and often.
Sites are 30-40 metres apart with a maximum of 8 vehicles and their occupants in the whole property. No overcrowding!
Looking for a special breakfast or brunch? Try Goody’s on the Beach, a 3-minute drive away at Toogoom for great waterside dining or Arkarra Gardens, 10 minutes away for a tropical rainforest dining experience.

We are beef cattle graziers and we have a 1500 fruit tree orchard. We work hard, yet enjoy relaxing by the river. We have working dogs, 30 free range chickens, 3 donkeys, 1 house cat, 1 parrot and approximately 750 head of cattle of various ages.
You can learn about the farm and book one of our tours, or just relax and enjoy the views.
Join us for Sundowners & Dinner at the homestead on Saturday night only. Sundowners in the paddock for sunset followed by dinner at the house.
We offer a number of options, three of which are
open to camping of all types from tents through to motorhomes.
The Hut campsite
is a flat 'ledge' that has on old hut built on it. This old hut is derelict now, however, the original owner used it for 'tordoning crews'.
The Ridge traverses the entire length of Evergreen. From the ridge you have views in all directions.
We have a beautiful large dam, where our Dam campsite is located,
that is home to turtles, water dragons and birds.
We also have the Beachy River campsite
which
is only accessible by 4x4 vehicles and walk in campers.

A stone's throw from the campsites is access to the mobility corridor/bike path, which takes you straight into Hervey Bay and continues all the way past the shops to Urangan pier, offering 15km of ocean frontage to explore.
Our farm is located about 2.5km from both hospitals (private and government) for any care that you may need. All specialists and consulting facilities are very convenient.
Next door to the campsites is our fantastic local cafe, The Depot Espresso Bar, open at 6 in the morning. They're happy to take orders for our campers from 5:30 if you knock! It's perfect for hopping on your bike from camp, grabbing your morning caffeine fix, and continuing on the day's biking adventure.

Welcome to 'Evergreen' a 2500 acre property in Gundiah on the banks of the beautiful Mary River.
We are beef cattle graziers and we have a 1500 fruit tree orchard. We work hard, yet enjoy relaxing by the river. We have working dogs, 30 free range chickens, 3 donkeys, 1 house cat, 1 parrot and approximately 750 head of cattle of various ages.
You can learn about the farm and book one of our tours, or just relax and enjoy the views.
Join us for Sundowners & Dinner at the homestead on Saturday night only. Sundowners in the paddock for sunset followed by dinner at the house.
We offer a number of options, three of which are
open to camping of all types from tents through to motorhomes.
The Hut campsite
is a flat 'ledge' that has on old hut built on it. This old hut is derelict now, however, the original owner used it for 'tordoning crews'.
The Ridge traverses the entire length of Evergreen. From the ridge you have views in all directions.
We have a beautiful large dam, where our Dam campsite is located,
that is home to turtles, water dragons and birds.
We also have the Beachy River campsite
which
is only accessible by 4x4 vehicles and walk in campers.
Guests must be self-contained with own toilet. Campfires permitted.

There was plenty of room to have several campers and lots of space in between sites. I arrived after dark, was able to find a relatively level spot and remain hooked up (drive through). I was only there for an overnight stay during a long-haul trip I cannot really speak to a more long-term stay — it was nice and quiet and I felt safe as a single female traveller.

We had the most beautiful stay at Big Rocks Hip Camp for New Year's Eve. Peaceful, spacious and genuinely special, it’s one of those places that instantly helps you exhale.
The setting is beautiful – quiet and natural so you feel immersed in nature without feeling crowded. It was ideal for our kids, who had space to explore and just be kids, and equally perfect for our dogs, who were very much living their best lives. 🐕🌿
John and Lyn are the kind of hosts that make a great place exceptional – warm, welcoming, incredibly accommodating, and clearly passionate about sharing their little slice of the world. Nothing was too much trouble, and their care and thoughtfulness really showed.

Great location and exceptional service from Greg. Nice creek access for paddling and exploring. Town water availability was a great factor. If your a mountain biker the Toogoom trail network is just down the road.

The site was beautiful to set up for a day or two, without a boat or any water activity equipment I wouldn’t recommend more that 2 days in summer as it’s super hot so can get stuffy if you aren’t spending the days out on the water.
Make sure you bring bug spray with deet!
However owner was super helpful and does sell it on site with ice and firewood!
The facilities were super clean and well kept especially the showers and toilets (they are a bit of a walk from camp)
Some more info on the best route in would have been good but we managed to get in on the track beside the farm. We did however leave on the track though the national park to the town which was wayyyyy easier and a lot flatter.
Over all a lovely stay and would do again maybe try it out in winter for a few days!

I loved tent camping in the powered site at Susan River Homestead. My husband and I had a Fabulous time with our 11 year old son. The view from our site was just Beautiful and so relaxing! We had so much fun playing table tennis and shooting hoops in the games room. It was relaxing have an afternoon swim in the pool each afternoon to cool off.
I went for a horse ride … it had been years since I was on a horse! The Instructors we so kind and helpful. I rode Odin who was a big but gentle horse. I can’t speak high enough of these camp grounds! We will definately be back soon!

Thankyou Judy and Ray for providing such a great spot to camp. We camped during mid-summer and the site was shaded by many trees and easy to access. Carlton Farm is very close to town and Hervey Bay beaches yet was quiet with minimal traffic noise. A small creek meandered beside our camp where a cute chorus of frogs chirped at sunset. Cool spot.

Where to go
Bundaberg Region
Hemmed in by tropical fruit orchards and sugar cane plantations, the Bundaberg region is most famous for its Bundaberg Rum and Bundaberg Ginger Beer. Once you’ve explored the countryside, head to the beach town of Bargara to spot sea turtles along the coast or cruise out to the islands and coral reefs of the southern Great Barrier Reef. Fraser Coast

When to go
The beaches and wetlands of Woodgate and the Burrum Coast National Park are most popular through the summer months, and this is the best time for swimming, water sports, and turtle-watching along the coast. Don’t write off a winter visit, though. The Queensland sun shines year-round, and with average temperatures of 15–20°C, it’s the ideal time for hiking and fishing. August through October is also whale-watching season.
