Welcome to 'Evergreen' a 2500 acre property in Gundiah on the banks of the beautiful Mary River. We are beef cattle graziers and we have a 1500 fruit tree orchard. We work hard, yet enjoy relaxing by the river. We have working dogs, 30 free range chickens, 3 donkeys, 1 house cat, 1 parrot and approximately 750 head of cattle of various ages. You can learn about the farm and book one of our tours, or just relax and enjoy the views. Join us for Sundowners & Dinner at the homestead on Saturday night only. Sundowners in the paddock for sunset followed by dinner at the house. We offer a number of options, three of which are open to camping of all types from tents through to motorhomes. The Hut campsite is a flat 'ledge' that has on old hut built on it. This old hut is derelict now, however, the original owner used it for 'tordoning crews'. The Ridge traverses the entire length of Evergreen. From the ridge you have views in all directions. We have a beautiful large dam, where our Dam campsite is located, that is home to turtles, water dragons and birds. We also have the Beachy River campsite which is only accessible by 4x4 vehicles and walk in campers. Guests must be self-contained with own toilet. Campfires permitted.

Suzie meet us at the gate and showed us to the site that perched on the hill overlooking the river, great spot would recommend it to anyone looking for a quite getaway

The site was perfectly remote and peaceful, aside from the babbling of the Mary River across the shoal of rocks, the numerous birds, and the wind in the trees. The turtles basking on the log kept us busy as did the little red dragonfly that visited each morning and flitted about. Very pleasant.

Loved it here - river is just stunning and beautiful green grass at camp. Very bumpy and unlevel ground in general but there are spots you can make work for sure.

I had a great time here! We were the only people there (weekday) and it was SO private, and i think you'd still have privacy if there were other people too! We got to camp up on a cliff that overlooked a beautiful river. An easy walk down to the water, and the water was so refreshing for a swim. My partner was able to take the kayak out and down the river a bit too. The hosts were so lovely and met us at the gate to show us our campsite. We will definitely be back! Thanks for having us, and accepting our short notice reservation.

Evergreen - The Ridge
We stayed on the river front site, Access was a bit ordinary towing a 20ft van. Track in and site could have been mowed. Unfortunately it rained whilst we where there, so made our stay not great, making our exit very challenging, ended up needing assistance up a hill (Tractor to tow us out) to get out, after we slid backwards approx 50mtrs with the van on. Apart from that the view was amazing.

We had an amazing weekend here. So peaceful. Marc and Suzie are great hosts. I recommend the sourdough bread it is delicious. Kayaking was great. I caught fish which is always good. We will be back.

This has been my favorite place to camp at compared to anywhere else. Suzie and Marc are so friendly and very helpful. If you book I’d definitely recommend booking the extras like the kayaks, farm tour and joining them while they muster the cows. I have a very low 2WD and made it to a beautiful spot with no issues. The views are beautiful, it’s such a nice peaceful spot to camp, my friend and I are definitely going to come back in the future!

Our campsite was very peaceful. Enjoyed staying close to nature with my husband for a quick Easter getaway. It was nothing fancy but it was a very nice stay. Suzie was also accommodating to our requests and responded quickly. There was no signal for optus and telstra so we enjoyed staying off the grid for 2nights. Husband saw a platypus by the river which was cool! We explored an old bridge, walked along the riverside, and watched the nightsky. Perfect simple getaway!

We absolutely loved our stay here. Perfect camp for sunsets and stargazing. We loved the platter that Suzie made and delivered to us.

Evergreen - Beachy River
Evergreen is amazing 😍 Our camp was right on the river bank the views were spectacular. We loved everything about this place. Our site had easy access to the river via a beautiful sandy beach. Very easy kayak launching and beautiful for a swim. The water is lovely and the bottom is sandy. We did some fishing and caught a few catfish and a little bass. We treated ourselves to Suzie's hamper and it was divine. We stayed two nights but wanted to stay forever!

Fantastic! Marc and Suzie offr an amazing experience and insight to their everyday lifestyle. Loved the farm tour & Happy Hour in the cattle yard. We will definitely be back.

Perfect little getaway on the river. The host were welcoming and the site was quiet and private. The river was a bit flooded so they couldn't provide us with kayaks but instead we got farm fresh eggs and sausages...mmmm Thanks again Suzi and Marc!

Had a great time at Evergreen The Ridge. Suzie & Marc are lovely hosts and the farm tour was very informative especially about the dogs and how everything works on the farm. Hired the kayaks and it was just beautiful on the river. We will be back for sure😊

We absolutely loved Evergreen - The River. The privacy, the river, the tranquility was just sensational. We had so much fun on the kayaks and caught a couple of big eels and catfish but the elusive Murray cod escaped us. We will definitely be back. Thanks for having us on your magnificent property Suzie & Marc we will see you again soon.

Great Escape to the Country
Evergreen - Beachy River
We wanted to get away for a mini break in the country and found this gem of a property that ticked all our boxes. We like to get as far away from the crowd as possible when we are camping and Evergreen has the perfect site perched above a picturesque bend in the Mary River that can only be accessed by 4x4 vehicles... WINNING!!! We took full advantage of the various activities that Marc and Suzie offer on their working cattle farm spending a perfect morning out with them in the Honda ATVs and a few of their incredible cattle dogs as they mustered their herd of cattle from one paddock to another. We also were keen to have the option to have a paddle up or down the river when we wanted to and booked the kayaks as well which added a great extra dimension to our stay. We were very fortunate to enjoy four wonderful clear sky nights in our perfect camp spot and look forward to getting back again in the future.

Evergreen - The Dam
Staying at Evergreen the dam was awsome. River beautiful. We had a beautiful relaxing 2 days, and hosts Suzie and Marc were welcoming and helpful. We had a beautiful kiak up the river. We also had a farm tour with some breath taking views. I would recomend the property to anyone. Thankyou Suzie and Marc for sharing your beautiful property. We would definitely stay there again. Another greata stay at Evergreen.
Evergreen - Beachy River
This is just a great place for a bush camp by the River. We still did not get to the far fence as we were too busy eiterh siting by the fire, watching the river go by or riding our MTBs in the backroads of Gundiah/ Glenbar.
