We offer numerous camping sites on cleared land lined by trees, near to our gully and seasonal creek. Each site is private and offers plenty of space. Campers must be self-contained with their own camp toilet, but there is a 24/7 dump station just 2km away.
A stone's throw from the campsites is access to the mobility corridor/bike path, which takes you straight into Hervey Bay and continues all the way past the shops to Urangan pier, offering 15km of ocean frontage to explore.
Our farm is located about 2.5km from both hospitals (private and government) for any care that you may need. All specialists and consulting facilities are very convenient.
Next door to the campsites is our fantastic local cafe, The Depot Espresso Bar, open at 6 in the morning. They're happy to take orders for our campers from 5:30 if you knock! It's perfect for hopping on your bike from camp, grabbing your morning caffeine fix, and continuing on the day's biking adventure.
Campfires are permitted, but please BYO firepit, and there is plenty of fallen timber you are welcome to collect and split yourself. Pets are welcome too!

Beautiful calm swimming beaches are only a 9km drive away. You may also like to visit our huge pier at Urangan, or take a walk along the bike path which stretches 17kms along the waterfront. You will also find a shopping centre with Woolworths in this area and other specialty shops (post office and retail). Plenty of takeaway available- KFC, McDonalds, Golden Chicken, River Heads Cafe for breakfast and lunch daily and pizza three nights a week and restaurants in the vicinity.
River Heads where K’Gari Fraser Island barge leaves from is 7.5km from our camp and you are welcome to leave your vehicles parked up for a small fee.

Rosgrow Farm, 15 minutes off the Bruce Highway, offers secluded campsites set on a large tidal creek. There are plenty of trees and shelter. The creek offers fishing, crabbing, kayaking, paddle-boarding, boating and swimming.
Fire pits and picnic areas make the sites perfect for evening relaxation with bird life and jumping fish, talking about the day's fishing or eating the day's crab catch.

Campers must be self-contained with their own toilet and shower and need to remove their rubbish. Particularly suitable for RVs and caravans with own toilet.
Well suited for overnight travelers passing between Maryborough and Bundaberg, or others needing a few days rest, fishing or water activities.
Sandflies are a problem in this region anywhere near water, in the mornings until about 9am and in the evenings after about 3:30pm, so bring plenty of repellent and apply early and often.
Sites are 30-40 metres apart with a maximum of 8 vehicles and their occupants in the whole property. No overcrowding!
Looking for a special breakfast or brunch? Try Goody’s on the Beach, a 3-minute drive away at Toogoom for great waterside dining or Arkarra Gardens, 10 minutes away for a tropical rainforest dining experience.

Our farm is located about 2.5km from both hospitals (private and government) for any care that you may need. All specialists and consulting facilities are very convenient.
Next door to the campsites is our fantastic local cafe, The Depot Espresso Bar, open at 6 in the morning. They're happy to take orders for our campers from 5:30 if you knock! It's perfect for hopping on your bike from camp, grabbing your morning caffeine fix, and continuing on the day's biking adventure.

Enjoy the park setting along Beelbi Creek with your very own boat ramp and pontoon to use, so you can experience the water activities at your doorstep. The saltwater creek creek leads to the Coral Sea.The campsite offers large shade areas, fire pits and a large communal fire pit area for all to enjoy. We have a two seater kayak and stand-up paddle boards available for use.Guests are required to be fully self sufficient with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure.Pets are allowed but must be kept on a leash at all times and cleaned up after. Please check with your host first if you would like to bring your pet with you.Toogoom Mountain bike riding tracks are a 5 minute ride away. Lots of native birds and animals. Hervey Bay, Toogoom, Burrum Heads, Howard, Maryborough and Childers only a short drive away. It is an extremely quiet area with lots of open space for your enjoyment.

Paperbark Farm was just perfect. Exactly what we needed for a few days before we headed over to Fraser Island. The kids loved the animals, Michelle was more than happy to answer their millions of questions and have them help with feeding. The property was also the perfect location to leave our van while we travelled to Fraser - only 8 or so minutes to the River Heads Barge. Highly recommend this Hipcamp!

We had a great stay here, the kids loved the farm animals and we set up camp right next to the big swing, which got constant use. The toilet facilities always smelt fresh and clean and the host was super lovely.

We absolutely loved camping at Paperbark Farm, not only were the sites spacious and the animals friendly, Michelle was wonderful - she was always around to say hello, and helped us when we needed. The horses are beautiful and friendly and love some carrots. Location is great, just 15 minutes from Hervey Bay. Would 100% recommend Michelle’s place!

We had a wonderful time! The hosts are absolutely lovely, Michelle and her daughter made us feel like family, our daughter made a friend for life in her. Michelle was so helpful when we arrived and assisted in picking best spot overlooking the dam, which was filled with life, the ducks were adoreable! The piggy’s cute as! There was lots to do and explore for the kids and the camp kitchen was amazing. It was far enough away to feel private but close enough for us to still enjoy the beach.

The site was beautiful to set up for a day or two, without a boat or any water activity equipment I wouldn’t recommend more that 2 days in summer as it’s super hot so can get stuffy if you aren’t spending the days out on the water.
Make sure you bring bug spray with deet!
However owner was super helpful and does sell it on site with ice and firewood!
The facilities were super clean and well kept especially the showers and toilets (they are a bit of a walk from camp)
Some more info on the best route in would have been good but we managed to get in on the track beside the farm. We did however leave on the track though the national park to the town which was wayyyyy easier and a lot flatter.
Over all a lovely stay and would do again maybe try it out in winter for a few days!

I loved tent camping in the powered site at Susan River Homestead. My husband and I had a Fabulous time with our 11 year old son. The view from our site was just Beautiful and so relaxing! We had so much fun playing table tennis and shooting hoops in the games room. It was relaxing have an afternoon swim in the pool each afternoon to cool off.
I went for a horse ride … it had been years since I was on a horse! The Instructors we so kind and helpful. I rode Odin who was a big but gentle horse. I can’t speak high enough of these camp grounds! We will definately be back soon!

The host was very welcoming and gave us heads up for turtle watching. Beach and path close by was beautiful. When we had issues with our car the following day the host even graciously allowed us to check out late which saved us a lot of trouble. Would highly recommend!

Thankyou Judy and Ray for providing such a great spot to camp. We camped during mid-summer and the site was shaded by many trees and easy to access. Carlton Farm is very close to town and Hervey Bay beaches yet was quiet with minimal traffic noise. A small creek meandered beside our camp where a cute chorus of frogs chirped at sunset. Cool spot.

A great little spot. The kids loved the animals and their was a giant swing set up which kept the kids entertained for hours. The Host Michelle (and her family) were super friendly, helpful and happy to teach the kids about the animals. A very nice stay!

Excellant, peaceful sites beside the river. Sites are far enought apart so you and your fellow campers still have privacy and dont disturb each other.
Jennifer is a great host and very helpful.
Definatly will return. My dog was with me, so no troubles at all. Campers must be fully self sufficient.

We absolutely loved our 4 days at Susan River Homestead. Everyone was so welcoming! There are heaps of things to keep the kids busy. If they not running or kicking a ball around there is a trampoline, tennis court, games room and pool to keep them busy. The cow feeding was the funniest and most entertaining thing I have done at a homestead. Highly recommend. We will be back 😊

Where to go
Bundaberg Region
Hemmed in by tropical fruit orchards and sugar cane plantations, the Bundaberg region is most famous for its Bundaberg Rum and Bundaberg Ginger Beer. Once you’ve explored the countryside, head to the beach town of Bargara to spot sea turtles along the coast or cruise out to the islands and coral reefs of the southern Great Barrier Reef. You can even camp on Lady Musgrave Island.
Fraser Coast
Across the Isis River, lively beach towns and sandy bays pepper the Fraser Coast, which stretches all the way down to Rainbow Beach. Swing by the heritage town of Maryborough, fish along the creek in Burrum Heads, and set sail on a whale-watching cruise from Hervey Bay. There’s plenty of choice for camping and glamping, including tent and caravan sites at the Cooloola camping area in Great Sandy National Park.
Fraser Island
Just south of Woodgate, Fraser Island is the world’s largest sand island and the star of the Great Sandy National Park. A natural paradise for outdoor adventurers, you can drive a 4WD along the beach, cool off with a swim in the Champagne Pools, and paddle around freshwater lakes in the heart of the rainforest. For the ultimate camping experience, escape the crowds at a remote bush camp in the dunes or pitch a tent right on the beach.
When to go
The beaches and wetlands of Woodgate and the Burrum Coast National Park are most popular through the summer months, and this is the best time for swimming, water sports, and turtle-watching along the coast. Don’t write off a winter visit, though. The Queensland sun shines year-round, and with average temperatures of 15–20°C, it’s the ideal time for hiking and fishing. August through October is also whale-watching season.
