Paperbark Camp is a perfect pit stop on your way to and from the Island or for a getaway from city life. The campground is located close to the road so you will hear passing cars traveling to and from River Heads.
We have a large communal campfire, sticks from the paddock can be collected, and firewood can be purchased on site.
Paperbark Camp and Farm Stay offers our guests the opportunity to pat and feed our farm animals. You are also welcome to explore the camp area with our dam and lovely bush surrounds where you will find hidden treasures amongst the trees and camp ground.
On our farm, we have lots of quirky chickens (who lay the most delicious eggs), our beautiful horses, pet dogs, sheep, pigs, ducks, chickens and miniature goats!
You are only a very short drive from shops, beaches and attractions.
The following shops are only 5kms away- Foodworks, Chemist Warehouse, Dentist ,Dr Surgery, Airport, BP Petrol Station, Bottle-Shop, Hairdressers.
Take a very short walk to the Pir'ri Reserve Walking Track where you can do a spot of bird watching or simply enjoy a stroll on the rustic bush tracks.
Beautiful calm swimming beaches are only a 9km drive away. You may also like to visit our huge pier at Urangan, or take a walk along the bike path which stretches 17kms along the waterfront. You will also find a shopping centre with Woolworths in this area and other specialty shops (post office and retail). Plenty of takeaway available- KFC, McDonalds, Golden Chicken, River Heads Cafe for breakfast and lunch daily and pizza three nights a week and restaurants in the vicinity.
River Heads where K’Gari Fraser Island barge leaves from is 7.5km from our camp and you are welcome to leave your vehicles parked up for a small fee.

Virtue Farm is a 33 acre property overlooking K'Gari (Fraser Island). It includes 27 acres of remnant forest which will never be developed. The forest is an oasis for bird life, koalas, echidnas, and other animals and is great for walking. You will see loads of kangaroos to your site.
You must have your own toilet to stay here and be able to remove all grey water. Our regional council does not allow us to host swag/tent campers. Tents and swags may be permitted if accompanied by an RV or caravan, please ask us first. Virtue Farm is a council approved self-contained recreational vehicle ground.
Arrival after dark is by prior arrangement only as we have no lighting on the farm.

We have 9 gorgeous Scottish Highlands, the Scottish folk pronounce it "Heilen Coos" so that's how we say it, I'm not spelling it wrong 🤩😆You'll meet Kelvin the Scottish Highland Bull, Oakley her calf Lucy, Willow and her calf Ferdinand (Ferdi), and our new additions Dusty and Maddi, they can be both fun and relaxing to watch doing zoomies around the yard, swimming in the dam or chilling under a tree 😁 We have 2 new little ones Alfie and Angus
Keep in mind from December to March we have hot, rainy summers. For the adventurous campers who use swags/tents, we suggest a stretcher and a gazebo with walls for a little comfort. Some areas need 4wd also.

Be mindful around all animals as they get to know you, be smart please. Kids can bring bikes, must be supervised at all times, no screaming or running.
Pets are welcome, we have 2 dogs Jesse and Cane, who are both very friendly. Our Maremma is an Italian breed of livestock gaurdian dog, he does bark a little at night to protect our pets, which goes hand in hand with all of our other farm noises 😉
Our Neighbours have fish farms, you may hear the odd gun go off, just to scare the shags away from feeding in the ponds. It's totally safe.
Feel free to put on some music and have a few drinks by the campfire, but we want our farm to be a place where our animals and our guests feel safe and relaxed, so we do not accommodate noisy parties.
Relax and unwind with a book or go for a bush walk and listen to the kookaburras. Watch Sea Eagles, pelican, wild budgies, rainbow lorikeet and more. All your cares will feel like they are a million miles away as you soak up nature, we guarantee you will have an amazing experience.

The stables are rubber floored, meaning you use minimal sawdust therefore minimal dust. They are equipped with automatic waterers and feed bins. The yards are separated so that the horses can't reach each other from one yard to the other. Please ensure these areas are cleaned before you leave. There are rakes and wheelbarrows provided near the arena and at the end of the stables for your convenience.
Our sites are best suited to self contained camping but there is shower and toilet availability on the property. There is a dump site situated in Crescent St Childers

You will also find a shopping centre with Woolworths in this area and other specialty shops (post office and retail). Our Neighbours have fish farms, you may hear the odd gun go off, just to scare the shags away from feeding in the ponds. It's totally safe.
Feel free to put on some music and have a few drinks by the campfire, but we want our farm to be a place where our animals and our guests feel safe and relaxed, so we do not accommodate noisy parties.

Just 30 minutes from Woodgate Beach and an hour from Bargara and Hervey Bay beaches, our serene retreat is the perfect escape. Located only a 5-minute drive from Cordalba State Forest, you’ll have easy access to scenic walks, mountain bike trails, and horse riding adventures. There are also bush tracks leading out from the property
Bundaberg is an easy 30 minute drive and Childers 15 minutes.
Experience the charm of our countryside with supervised visits with our horses and Highland cows. Join us around 4:30 pm for the afternoon feed and grooming session. (Please note: The Highland Coos are away visiting a bull December 2025 and January 2026) Relax and enjoy a meal at the BBQ area, which overlooks the horse arena. If you bring your horse, for an additional fee, you can explore our arena featuring dressage letters, obstacles, drums, and jumps, or test your skills in a dedicated area with permanent obstacles.
For your convenience, our well-equipped camp kitchen includes a fridge, toaster, kettle, electric frypan, and microwave, along with all the necessary cutlery and crockery. Please remember to clean up after using the kitchen to keep it welcoming for everyone.
In the kitchen area you will also find a pool table and dart board and arcade game for your use.
If you choose to bring your horse you will find stabling or yards under Extras as begin your booking. The cost can be seen as you view the sites. The stables are rubber floored, meaning you use minimal sawdust therefore minimal dust. They are equipped with automatic waterers and feed bins. The yards are separated so that the horses can't reach each other from one yard to the other. Please ensure these areas are cleaned before you leave. There are rakes and wheelbarrows provided near the arena and at the end of the stables for your convenience.
Our sites are best suited to self contained camping but there is shower and toilet availability on the property. There is a dump site situated in Crescent St Childers

Campers may be lucky enough to see turtles laying and hatching in season at beautiful Mon Repos Beach in between the two!!
Landmarked by the Burnett Heads Lighthouse (c.1873), Burnett Heads’ you will enjoy the laidback atmosphere on offer here.
There are no facilities here, campers must be self contained and leave no trace.

We had such a great staybeven for ONE night. The shower setup was honestly one of the most intuitive and easy-to-use we’ve come across at a campsite — simple, practical, and just works!! The whole property has a relaxed, welcoming feel, and Mary the dog absolutely made our trip. She’s so friendly that even our 2year old ran off playing with her like they’d known each other for years!!!

Loved our stay at River Run, lovely rustic, all working facilities. The river was great for a cool off as it was very hot when we were there. Thanks Shelly for our upgrade to power, helped our old dog immensely having the air-conditioning. Would recommend this camp to all!!

Lovely peaceful campsite. Amazing views to k'gari island. Great location for travelling to Hervey Bay for trips to k'gari island. Heidi provides home made food and we had the vegetarian quiche and salad, delicious, and the quiche was sufficient to be our lunch the day after. Would definitely recommend this campsite.

Buxton Bush Camp was perfect. Danny and Bushy are friendly, welcoming hosts. If a peaceful bush and estuary camp is your thing then this is for you. Hot showers and toilets available too. We will be back. Thanks for having us!

We really enjoyed our stay - we were the only campers there! It was lovely to visit the creek and take the kayak out. We had our dog with us, who quickly became friends with Mary! It was a peaceful, clean and well thought out camping space. Toilet and shower were clean and easy to use.

The views were amazing, the owner was fantastic. Answered all questions and took the kids and us on an included farm animal and feeding tour! The facilities were beautiful the bath under the stars for the kids was awesome and the camp kitchen being so user friendly and has everything you need. The bar area/dining area of the camp kitchen is accommodating and very spacious with a playground for the kids outside.
We loved our site and will come back many times in the future. The boat ramp was awesome for us as well and when not boating an awesome spot for a dip in the water !

Fabulous find while we visited family in the area. We are 2Ad in a caravan & loved the spacious peaceful bush setting along with having potable water available.
