River Run offers: farm animals, swimming, excellent fresh water Fishing (Bass, Barra, yellow belly, prawn and silver perch), boat ramp, bike track and kayaking on the river is spectacular.
River run has an amazing variety of bird life due to the large body of fresh water and pristine habitat creating a great environment for spotting native animals including wallabies, echidna and platypus, which have been sighted at the boat ramp.
We are pet friendly too as long as your animals remain on a leash and are under full supervision at all times.

We have 9 gorgeous Scottish Highlands, the Scottish folk pronounce it "Heilen Coos" so that's how we say it, I'm not spelling it wrong 🤩😆You'll meet Kelvin the Scottish Highland Bull, Oakley her calf Lucy, Willow and her calf Ferdinand (Ferdi), and our new additions Dusty and Maddi, they can be both fun and relaxing to watch doing zoomies around the yard, swimming in the dam or chilling under a tree 😁 We have 2 new little ones Alfie and Angus
Keep in mind from December to March we have hot, rainy summers. For the adventurous campers who use swags/tents, we suggest a stretcher and a gazebo with walls for a little comfort. Some areas need 4wd also.

Be mindful around all animals as they get to know you, be smart please. Kids can bring bikes, must be supervised at all times, no screaming or running.
Pets are welcome, we have 2 dogs Jesse and Cane, who are both very friendly. Our Maremma is an Italian breed of livestock gaurdian dog, he does bark a little at night to protect our pets, which goes hand in hand with all of our other farm noises 😉
Our Neighbours have fish farms, you may hear the odd gun go off, just to scare the shags away from feeding in the ponds. It's totally safe.
Feel free to put on some music and have a few drinks by the campfire, but we want our farm to be a place where our animals and our guests feel safe and relaxed, so we do not accommodate noisy parties.
Relax and unwind with a book or go for a bush walk and listen to the kookaburras. Watch Sea Eagles, pelican, wild budgies, rainbow lorikeet and more. All your cares will feel like they are a million miles away as you soak up nature, we guarantee you will have an amazing experience.

Kangaroos are everywhere and an abundance of birdlife have the 2nd very large dam all to themselves. The site provides complete privacy and peace and quiet except for the bird song.
The Heritage township of Childers is 5 minutes away by car, Woolies, restaurants as well as a main street that is very worth while walking down. Great coffee shops and interesting old Hotels. A great place to stop over if you are heading north or south.

We had such a great staybeven for ONE night. The shower setup was honestly one of the most intuitive and easy-to-use we’ve come across at a campsite — simple, practical, and just works!! The whole property has a relaxed, welcoming feel, and Mary the dog absolutely made our trip. She’s so friendly that even our 2year old ran off playing with her like they’d known each other for years!!!

It was an amazing spot for our Caravan but there is also many other sites for all kinds of camping all just as great. The camp kitchen area was enormous with a well equiped kitchen, beyond expectations. Bathrooms were extremely clean and the showers had great water pressure.
It was so quiet and peaceful the whole 4 nights we were there. The highlight of my stay was feeding the 2 Donkeys, 2 Miniature Horses and Horse carrots every afternoon.

Loved our stay at River Run, lovely rustic, all working facilities. The river was great for a cool off as it was very hot when we were there. Thanks Shelly for our upgrade to power, helped our old dog immensely having the air-conditioning. Would recommend this camp to all!!

We really enjoyed our stay - we were the only campers there! It was lovely to visit the creek and take the kayak out. We had our dog with us, who quickly became friends with Mary! It was a peaceful, clean and well thought out camping space. Toilet and shower were clean and easy to use.

The views were amazing, the owner was fantastic. Answered all questions and took the kids and us on an included farm animal and feeding tour! The facilities were beautiful the bath under the stars for the kids was awesome and the camp kitchen being so user friendly and has everything you need. The bar area/dining area of the camp kitchen is accommodating and very spacious with a playground for the kids outside.
We loved our site and will come back many times in the future. The boat ramp was awesome for us as well and when not boating an awesome spot for a dip in the water !

Fabulous spot. Single camp spot with complete privacy, you can not see anyone else at all. The hosts were very nice people and not intrusive. Flat, plenty of turning room, extensive mowed paths, fire place with fire wood already in it. We will be back for sure, thank you for having us

They really catered for kids & adults with activities for Australia Day. Amenities were always clean, good water pressure & great hot water. Camp kitchen was a great size with everything you want. On the down side considering the length of waterfront the boat ramp was the only accessible area. powered sites had no shade at all, they would be good for winter camping not Summer.

This was our first HIPCAMP stay and it set the bar quite high with spacious sites with cooling breezes and soft grass underfoot, river views from our site, spotlessly clean amenities with amazing hot showers, a huge camp kitchen and a river safe for swimming.
There are sites to suit everyone. 3 hillside sites 13, 14 & 15) haves views to the river and are half way between the boat ramp (where you enter the river to swim) and the amenities. No trees to worry about. An easy stroll to either. The powered sites are close to the amenities as is sites 23 -26 (flat with no trees) but still not far to river but no river views. There are river front sites but the bank is quite high and there is no river access from these sites so it's a bit of a hike to the boat ramp to swim and visit amenities. If you want to be near the boat ramp there are 2 sites. A few sites have trees if you want shade and they are tall thin gums but we don't like being under trees.
Being Australia Day there were activities for the kids. It would be fun to be there in Winter as there is a huge fireplace in the camp kitchen and a huge communal firepit. Each site has it's own fireplace, although I'm not sure about the powered sites).
There is also a laundry sink and washing machine.
There are small kayaks for the kids and the river water was like bath temp. It is shallow at the start but drops off quickly.
This property is only 15 mins from Tiaro and Maryborough and easy to find. Highly recommend.
