We opened up our working cattle and turf farm to promote Hang gliding and paragliding, we believe the more people see it, then the more people may like to come for a tandem flight or learn to fly with us. You can buy a friend or loved one a gift of a life time. Tandem hang gliding gift vouchers are very popular, as you get to take off from the property and flyover you’re campsite and then up to 2500ft. Then come and land right next to your friends and family at the Oz Sky Ranch. We pride ourselves on keeping the property lovely and clean. We are also opening our home and farm to you. So please respect it and enjoy it as we do. We have 5 designated campsites positioned around the property. Within the designated sites, there are camp spots that we rotate. Please check with us to see what ones are open. We need to rotate the sites and rest them. This is how we keep them well-maintained and looking amazing. If it is wet weather we will close down sites and recommend other spots. We rotate the sites and rest them. Then they don’t get overused. We want our camp sites to look lovely for you. We pride our self’s on having a lovely property. If it is bad weather, we will recommend another site or we can give you a full refund. Campfires are allowed at designated camp spots when fire bans aren't in place. Firewood is available to purchase . We have a no dog policy. We accept groups however we have strict rules around this, so please discuss with us first. If you are up early in the morning you may be lucky enough to see the best in QLD barefoot water skiers training on the lake and also tandem hang gliders getting towed up from the airstrip. NO UNFORTUNATELY WE DO NOT ALLOW YOU TO BRING or USE MOTORISED EQUIPMENT ON OUR PRIVATE LAKE. Somerset Dam is 40minutes away and you are able to use your own motorised equipment there. We are more expensive per person than other camp sites. Please note this includes hipcamp fees and charges and you are covered by hipcamp insurance. We don’t charge for pets, nor do we charge to use our 6 onsite canoes, nor do we charge extra for hot showers or rubbish removal, we have guest wifi. Our 1km private driveway is rough but if driven to conditions a 2wd has no issues. I have a 2wd and drive in and out multiple times per day. Most of the time space is abundant however if choosing to come on a long weekend, Easter or New Years expect it to be a lot busier than your average weekend with larger groups camping together, however still plenty of space between groups. You won’t ever have to trip over your neighbours tent ropes here. Eco friendly lakefront and near to lake front sites. Please don’t arrive expecting lakefront, our sites are all near to and Depending on group size not everyone will have lake frontage. We can never guarantee requests. We assign sites based on numbers and camping equipment. Furtherest camp spot is approximately 500m from amenities block, however porta loos are located in the remote site but it’s a walk or drive back to the showers. Flushing toilets and 2 hot showers available in main area. Please note: toilet cartridges are not to be emptied into our toilets. You can choose from either Lakefront sites which give you uninterrupted waterfront, wetlands sites where the aquatics birdlife on display is magnificent, it’s like your own live doco unfolding! We also have sites specifically for off road camper type trailers where you can nestle in out of the way. Are you more of a pitch a tent type camper? That’s fine there are some very cool out of the way tent sites which offer complete seclusion also. You can walk along the creek, take a swim, do some fishing for bass, watch the huge variety of birdlife, light a campfire or simply relax and take in the serenity. We have a great supply of locally sourced firewood, $20 per bag 20kg-25kg and we strongly discourage wood brought on from other areas due to biosecurity concerns. We have firepits at all campsites and adhere to any fire restrictions. We do not supply BBQ’s please bring your own. Please come to our reception building on the way in, as we need to check everybody in, visitors to your camp site need to sign in and pay a day fee. We are more expensive per person than other camp sites. Please note this includes hipcamp fees and charges and you are covered by hipcamp insurance. We don’t charge for pets, nor do we charge to use our 6 onsite canoes, nor do we charge extra for hot showers or rubbish removal, we have guest wifi. Our 1km private driveway is rough but if driven to conditions a 2wd has no issues. I have a 2wd and drive in and out multiple times per day. Most of the time space is abundant however if choosing to come on a long weekend, Easter or New Years expect it to be a lot busier than your average weekend with larger groups camping together, however still plenty of space between groups. We are a 10 minute drive from Rosewood and Laidley where you will find cafes, supermarkets, fuel and a variety of other things to enjoy. Our lovely campground will accommodate swags, tents, campers, caravans and motorhomes. We provide an extensive camping ground which ensures that you will have a large amount of space to set up comfortably. Flushing toilets and hot showers are provided. We offer you the choice of a standard enclosed private shower or the fun of open air showers. We are happy for you to come and camp on your own or book the entire place if you have an event, large groups are welcome. There is a designated area that can be hired for parties and private functions with marquees available if required. If you are looking for clothing optional or nude camping we fully welcome you to do so. However we need to know at the time of booking so we can allocate an appropriate location so all campers are comfortable. Pets are welcome and must be under control and on a leash as there are farm animals kept on this property. Camp fires are permitted in communal fire areas or at your camp in provided fire drums. The only exception will be if a local fire ban is activated. You are welcome to bring your own firewood, or you can collect it off the ground. No chainsaws allowed. Please note that there is no potable water on site. You must bring your own DRINKING water. During extreme weather events the property can be affected, so if rain is forecast, please call before heading out. Things to do and see: The Grandchester hotel is a short 10min walk away and offers cold drinks, great meals and friendly country hospitality. Our property is 4WD access. See extras for booking park and ride option if your vehicle is 2WD. UPDATE as at 16 April 2024: Some of our tracks are rutted and may become slippery in wet weather. We do basic maintenance to keep access open for 4WDS. Kobble Creek West is readily accessible from several locations on our property boundary. Ideal for creek exploring and rock hopping. There’s even a small lagoon now awaiting you. At this time (April 2024) the creek has been flowing and the lagoon is refreshed. Without further rains it will return to being generally dry but will flow with heavy downpours in the D’aguilar Ranges. Explore the trails by bike, or check out the hiking trails on our property (there are hike options suitable to your preferred difficulty). Bring your machete for an even greater hiking experience! You can relax by or in the spring fed dam, explore seasonal Kobble Creek West which borders the property, feed the chickens or goats, spot the abundant bird life, or sit patiently and a deer or fox may appear at dusk. Enjoy the evenings sitting around the campfire as you gaze at the stars. All sites have sufficient spacing from other sites to ensure acceptable privacy. You are welcome to enjoy our off-grid camping with the expectation that facilities are minimal. NOTE: Surcharges exist for a number of circumstances, including day visitors and single-night bookings. These can be found in the Extras and must be added at the time of booking for your request to be accepted. NOTE: Please also indicate that you are 4WD and your camping platform and size as you book. This enables us to site you appropriately. NOTE: Each site has a stand alone camping toilet bucket, located behind a small shade cloth screen near your camp site. You’ll have a seat to sit on, a lid to close, and the need to throw some Leaves and grass in each time you go.
