Harriman State Park
There are 31 lakes, 200 miles of hiking trails, two beaches, and more vistas than you can shake a stick at. Explore miles of streams and scenic roads. Wildlife lovers will appreciate the scores of species that call this park home. It’s the second-largest park in the state. Plus, it’s dog-friendly (except at the beach).
Check out the museum or go ice skating in winter. In the fall, the entire place explodes with color as the leaves change. Bring the kiddos and stay in the excellent group campgrounds. Camping can also be had at Beaver Pond Campground. Rent a Kayak, Canoe or Rowboat at Baker Camp and explore the waters of Lake Sebago. There is also excellent fishing. Check the park’s website to find out which lakes are fishable.
