It’s hard to describe British Columbia as anything other than wildly breathtaking—quite literally when you swim in one of the province’s many turquoise glacier lakes, ride a wave, or catch a glimpse of a bear in the forest. For camping experiences and road trips, BC offers privately operated campgrounds and RV parks; a major network of parks with reservable and first-come, first-served tent camping sites; yurts and cabins; and thousands of recreation sites and trails on beaches, lakes, mountains, and meadows. Thanks to the mild climate and some winter huts, camping is possible year-round.

The Pacific Ocean runs along the length of BC, offering plenty of oceanside spots to explore. On Vancouver Island, Tofino and Pacific Rim National Park are famous for cold-water surfing, whale watching, and hot springs, while nearby Ucluelet is a fisher’s paradise. Further inland, campers can find riverside camping in Squamish; backcountry huts around the resort town of Whistler; and reservable tent pads overlooking the jewel-toned Joffre Lake. For a true off-the-grid experience, head to Haida Gwaii's Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve—set about 100 kilometres off the northern British Columbia coast, this area is only reachable by sea or air.

The northern part of the province is all raw, rugged beauty, with unique culture and untouched natural beauty. Soak in Canada’s second-largest hot spring in Fort Nelson, watch salmon spawning in the many rivers, and peek at bears catching some themselves at Kleanza Creek Provincial Park in Terrace. Options for outdoor stays include vast wilderness resorts, remote cabins, and private beach, lakefront, or rainforest campsites—but note that cell service and WiFi are rare in these parts. Bonus: Given its far north location, it’s relatively easy to snag last-minute campsites that still offer peace and quiet.

With a blend of history, wildlife, adventure, and expansive grasslands, the Cariboo Chilcotin Coast is true Canadian countryside. Campers come to this wild western spot to spend time in the Great Bear Rainforest and at alpine rivers (whitewater rafting is big here), but travelers usually also visit lakeside fishing lodges and historic Gold Rush towns such as Barkerville. Tweedsmuir Provincial Park is a prime spot for the chance to spot a grizzly bear.

Set in the province’s southeastern corner and part of the Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks World Heritage Site, the Kootenays are home to four national parks: Glacier, Kootenay, Mount Revelstoke, and Yoho. Here you’ll find unrivaled wildlife—think black bears, mountain goats, and elk—much of which can be spotted even from the highway. Throughout the region are glaciers, peaks, waterfalls, and quirky little towns such as Golden, Cranbrook, and Kimberley, the highest in Canada at 1,113 meters up. Camping and tenting is typically open between May and September, with limited winter options.

Come camp on a 40-acre parcel backing onto crown land mountains and wake up in front of 10 acres of vineyard and a view of Okanagan Lake! There is a small cabin and two camp sites to choose from. Site 1 is best suited for tents and small campervans, less than 18' or so (though people with small trailers like tear drop campers have been fine). Site 2 has a much larger flat area that can hold RVs up to 30'. Cabin available for those that want to sleep in a cozy bed and have a warm fire :) Outhouse on the property, which is just a pit toilet. It is a working farm so will likely have various equipment around at times as well as workers at certain times of the year. You’ll likely meet our very friendly and very energetic Bernedoodle, Bernie. If you prefer to keep him out of your campsite just let us know and we can keep him closer. Otherwise, he thinks he has the run of the place! Please check to see if campfires are allowed (live in a high-risk fire zone) and firewood is available with an extra charge. If you need anything to better enjoy your stay, just let us know! Our property is located in Peachland, BC. Positioned midway between Kelowna and Pentiction, it is the perfect location to draw from both population centres and is well-positioned to act as a hub for popular wine and other agri-tourism activities. We supply natural spring water but you must bring your own jug. We live in an adventure playground! The small working ranch is in the Rocky mountain trench with the Rocky Mountains to the east the Caribou range to the east and the Monashee Mountains to the south. Maps available in Pictures. Shower and water available in ranch yard water tap is on the south side of the ranch house. Nearby activities include hiking, biking( bike rentals available in town), climbing, fishing, paddling. The site is 20 minutes from Mount Robson Provincial Park (Berg Lake trailhead) and just over an hour to Jasper National Park. Valemount townsite is 15 minutes away and is home to a renowned mountain bike park, Three Ranges brewery and excellent restaurants such as the Glacier fire Pizza. Please take the time to read any posted signs regarding rules of the ranch, speed limits, etc, and do not leave a trace. Please bring your garbage, tissues and cans with you. We have one RV site with septic, water and 50 Amp power and can fit a 40 foot unit and 2 totally private tent sites. There is a full washroom with tub/shower, toilet and wifi access in our old farmhouse which is complimentary during your stay. Should you find that your desired dates are already booked, please reach out to us as we may have a back up spot available. Please keep in mind we are an organic farm homestead that offers an agritourism experience. We are just across the lake and are accessed by the first electric shuttle ferry service in BC. If you are looking to escape the crowded tourist areas for the solitude of the natural world but want to feel safe and comfortable, then this is your place. We are surrounded by hiking, biking and ATV trails waiting to be explored. A few miles down the road is Saddle mountain hiking trail, a challenging trek with breathtaking views the entire way. At the top of Saddle Mountain is a look out cabin with 360 panoramic views. A short walk or bike ride from the camp through old growth cedar groves and orchard will lead you to Arrow Lake where you can enjoy all types of water activities or take a stroll to explore the lakeshore. Grab a kayak or SUP board and explore our many secluded, sandy beach spots. Come and enjoy our beautiful wilderness, It's a whole other world over here.....

Learn more about this land: Wild Coast has 2 nightly campsites for you to enjoy. Site one is a large, flat open gravel base. And Site 2 is a large, flat grass based site. Please note you must have your own trailer or tent. We’re a 5-10 minute drive to Rathtrevor beach/Parksville, Englishman River. We are right in the middle of an extensive trail network perfect for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding.  Both sites have plenty of space for RVs and trailers - we can accommodate vehicles up to 45ft in length. 30 amp Electrical and potable water hookups are available on both sites. WI-FI onsite as well. There is a flush toilet and sink available in our farm store that is available for guest use. No shower yet, but we are working on it! The property is private yet close to all amenities. Local favorite Rocking Horse Pub is a quick walk next door and a must-stop for dinner and drinks!  Centrally located on Vancouver Island, it’s a perfect spot to set up the rig and day trip out to Rathtrevor, Little Qualicum, Parksville, Coombs, Port Alberni valley and Nanaimo, or go for an overnighter in Victoria, Tofino, Mount Washington and the Comox Valley. Campfires are permitted as long as there is no fire ban and we have dry firewood for sale onsite. If you would like firewood send us a message before you arrive. Pets are welcome, but please be responsible for them. There is a large open grass field for you to let them run and burn off that energy. PLEASE NOTE that this is a campsite and the trailers in the photos are not for rent.

We stayed here for a night while celebrating my wife’s birthday, and it turned out to be a wonderful experience. The cabin was cozy, peaceful, and surrounded by nature—perfect for a relaxing getaway. It’s especially ideal for those who want to enjoy the feel of camping without the hassle of setting up a tent. You still get that outdoor charm, but with much more comfort. A special mention to our host, Michael, who was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. He even provided us with firewood free of charge, which was a lovely and unexpected touch. We had a fabulous stay at the cabin. We loved how everything was milled and built by the owners. It was clean, quiet and so peaceful. We definitely plan to return. The hot pool was HUGE and had a great view of the stars at night. We came prepared with coolers full of ice, cooking utensils and made use of the provided bbq. There was a large fire pit and wood provided, although we ran out of time to have a fire. We enjoyed the wood stove heating and rustic nostalgic feeling. The outdoor shower and outdoor washroom were clean and well kept. Beds were comfortable and our son loved his space in the upper loft. We appreciate it is pet friendly, although this trip we left our dogs with a sitter :) This is a little piece of heaven!

5-Star Review We had such a wonderful stay at Michael and Amy’s Lakewood Cabin! From the moment we arrived, everything felt just right. The creek running beside the cabin was incredibly calming — we could hear it from the deck and it made every moment feel peaceful. The Enchanted Forest walk right nearby was a highlight; it was so serene and beautiful, perfect for clearing your mind. The cabin itself was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed, making our stay effortless and comfortable. Directions were excellent and it was very easy to find. Even over spring break, the price was more than reasonable for what we got. The outdoor shower was an absolute treat — liberating, quiet, and surprisingly peaceful with nature all around us. The BBQ worked perfectly, and the firewood was cheap and easy to get if you don’t bring your own. A special memory was meeting Stella the horse — she was so gentle and kind with my children, which made the trip extra magical for the kids. We loved it so much that we’d go back next weekend if we could! We’re already planning our return trip later this year. Highly recommend this cabin for anyone looking for a relaxing, well-equipped getaway in a beautiful natural setting. So close to town, yet felt hours away. Thank you, Michael and Amy! Michael and his family have an amazing space. It has all the amenities one could need and is quiet and peaceful. Everyone there is extremely friendly but there is enough space between cabins to feel like you have your own personal space if that's what you want. The Enchanted Forest trail is fantastic for all ages and kids will love it! Absolutely recommend! Will definitely be back.

Great little spot just a short drive from downtown Maple Ridge. The spot is perfect for my car and small SUV tent. It was quiet and peaceful and the hosts met me to show me the site. The road in was really soft and muddy due to the atmospheric river and I had no problems thanks to my AWD.

Our stay was awesome! We are easy to please I think but it was just what we needed. Simple yet practical. It had everything we needed plus extras. I stayed here with my 5 year old and 2 year old, they absolutely loved the enchanted forest and thought it was pretty cool that Micheal put it all there just for them😅 the loop through the forest was perfect for kids and I loved that it was close to town, thr lake, yet still felt like we were in the middle of no where. We will be back for sure!

Beautiful location and mini cabin that was extremely cozy. My husband and I went on a day trip where the weather wasn’t so kind but it oddly made the experience even better with the view from the large cabin window's. The peaceful sound of the rain and Netflix made it extremely memorable and the fire-pit in the back made it all the better (when the weather was kind). The goat and horse were also a lovely sight frolicking through the field.

Michael’s cabin is the perfect getaway for families, friends, or couples. Even though it was raining during our stay, the atmosphere was incredibly cozy, and the view through the large windows was absolutely stunning. The cabin itself was spotless and fully equipped with everything we needed, including a thoughtful selection of coffee and tea. The bathroom was also clean and very comfortable. One of the highlights of our trip was feeding carrots to the goats and horses with Michael’s permission—it was such a fun experience! We also bought some fresh eggs on-site, and they were delicious. I highly recommend exploring the forest trail Michael decorated. It’s filled with cute, unique decorations that make the walk feel magical. We had such a great time that I’m already planning to come back with friends very soon!
