Haylmore Creek Farm

A perfect site for camping! Thanks to Carmen for her welcome, and to her friendly dog Molly for her company at dinner and who garded at night. The chalet for the toilets is very nice and clean. A hot shower would have been nice but we were warned before our arrival that it didn't work. We recommend!

Simple clean but nice site. Bathroom v clean. Has wifi. Friendly dog and chickens provided great entertainment for the kids. We rented the canoe which was a real highlight. Would recommend.

It wasn’t anything fancy but it was a nice quiet space to spend the night. The washroom was close by and kept very clean. Spent some time chatting with Carmen, she was a lovely host. We would definitely stay there again.

We loved the camping there! The two hosts were super nice people and we ended up chatting quite a while while they showed us around. The campsite is very nice too: the pit toilet has a water bucket to wash hands and soap. Each campsite has a picknick table. There was only one other guest that night, so it was relatively privat. Would absolutely recommend.

Carmen’s campsite, HayLmore, is amazing. There is a washroom with a flush toilet and sink which is kept clean. Behind the bathroom building is a double sink, for dishes, dish soap included. Can and plastic recycling as well as a place for garbage- please keep garbage to a minimum as it’s a regular size garbage bin and there are other campers. We stayed a ponderosa which to me is the most private spot, and I’ll definitely stay there again. We had a 20’ pick-up with slider camper. Molly (the dog) keeps to herself these days as she’s getting a little older, but she still loves pets. Carmen sells her eggs, tomatoes (or veggies of the season too). Thank you Carmen and Molly☺️🙂😎

Overall, a nice reasonably priced place with clean flushing washrooms, wifi, and a wash sink. That said, I think it’s overrated if you go by reviews. It’s on the lower end of what I considered to be good Hipcamp sites. Negatives: 1. The owner’s generator ran all night long which is super annoying because we pay for quiet and nature, not this annoying sound. It’s just enough to disturb your sleep. The owner told us it’s an “automatic switchover system” but clearly their offgrid properly doesn’t have enough solar and battery capacity for their use so the generator was running all night long both nights till I messaged them. 2. Smaller niggle : the shower and hot water wasn’t working. Yes, things break down but we are paying for those amenities and certainly choosing based on them. 3. Not a big deal but it matters : the campsites are a bit weirdly spaced with little privacy. Granted, we were at the pull through juniper site but the tent site was tiny and we were quite close to the next site. Honestly, with some work, it could be a stellar site but as it is, the experience was sub par

Great place and an excellent site. Nice facilities and great suggestions for nearby walks. The short walk to the creek was great and got to see some salmon up close. Very helpful hosts and great communication

Carmen's campsite near D'Arcy, BC was a real find. It's a little off the beaten path which is actually a good thing. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating and the property itself was well laid out and inviting. The icing on the cake was as we were heading west back to Vancouver and seeing the views of the mountains from that perspective. We'd highly recommend Carmen's land.

Amazing, quiet place

Amazing, quiet place. Carmen was very responsive. Wasroom was impecable and dish washing station was very useful. Potable water was available too. The shower was not available yet, but we drove to Pemberton and showered in the rec centre for $4.50 each. We heard generators at night, but was not a problem for us (I always use earplugs for sleeping anyway, and my husband is a very good sleeper). We had a few little walks to the creek. We saw salmon swimming upstream. We went to Birkenhead lake a few times,, it’s like a 20 min drive. Totally worth it, it was not too busy and the beach was sandy. We loved the place, We will definitely come back.

Piece of paradise

This was a little piece of paradise, tucked away in a quiet area with incredible mountain views. The campsites are similarly spaced to a provincial park, so don’t assume total privacy while there. My neighbors were quiet so it was no issue. The dog was the best hostess, greeting everyone when they arrived and, of course, inspecting every meal to be sure it was suitable. :D Carmen and Dale were so kind and flexible. Their farm is a delight, and they’ve made a high quality campground out of their land. Extremely clean bathroom and great cleaning station. (The shower is NOT hooked up, so don’t go expecting it.) I can’t wait to go back and continue exploring!

Wouldn’t stay here again, site was okay and close to toilet block however wasn’t made aware that the shower wasn’t working. Their dog also barked at me and my dog a lot which made him uncomfortable and wasn’t very friendly towards him, I kept him on a leash on my site but it still came over, it also peed all over my things but no owner in site to tell. Overall kinda disappointing for the $43 a night.

We had a fantastic time at Carmen’s. It was very close to Anderson lake which was great for paddleboarding and swimming. Also about an hour from Joffre lake (now needs reservations). The camp was private and quiet.

Peaceful camp in the pines

Very quiet and private spot. The stars are terrific. Each site has a large picnic table. The site was flat enough that we didn’t need to level our van. The WiFi works best at the washroom. But it did reach to our picnic table, but not inside the van. Underscoring the hosts suggestions on directions: do NOT use Google. Follow the hosts directions explicitly and you’ll be fine. Anderson lake is worth seeing and only a five minute drive away. The bathroom and running water were nice to have. A shower is coming soon, per the body, as they’ve been waiting for BC hydro. We very much enjoyed our stay.

Puma’s a very large site that can offer some seclusion from the other sites while still being within a minute’s walk of the bathroom and dishwashing station. Amenities were kept very clean. The owners were very kind and attentive to any questions I had. Renting their add-on canoe is also a must!

Dale and Carmen were excellent hosts. We had a bit of a crisis wirh our dog running off into the woods abd getting lost overnight which had us very worried and anxious. Dale and Carmen went above and beyond to help us in any way they could. Lovely people a d a beautiful place to camp. I couldn't recommend it enough!!

My friends and I had a lovely weekend at Carmen’s property. The owners are very hands off, but left great directions to find out site without help. They had everything well set up with wood chips lay out and along the paths to make things nicer. Birkenhead lake turnoff is right nearby so it was great to spend an afternoon up there with ease too. Their dog was sweet and came to visit a few times throughout. I would highly recommend a stay here :)

Peaceful Getaway - Beautiful Spot

We had an amazing time at Haylmore Creek Farm last weekend! The site was private, peaceful, and surrounded by a beautiful natural atmosphere that made it feel like a true escape. We especially loved the large outdoor table with the umbrella — perfect for meals and relaxing — and the lovely fire pit that made the evenings feel cozy and special. The facilities were great and everything was well-maintained and thoughtfully set up. D’Arcy itself was such a great find — a quiet gem with so much charm. If you’re here on the weekend, definitely make time to visit Birken House Bakery just up the road. Thanks again, Carmen, for such a wonderful stay. We’ll definitely be back!

We stayed over the long weekend, and it was definitely a good call, as was very quiet with only the 3 other campsite neighbours. Molly the campsite dog was sweet, calm and gave enough space that our dog felt relaxed. The Puma site isn't as private as we expected, but with the truck parked sideways we had our own little corner. It was such a joy to be able to have a campfire at this time of year. Was a convenient spot for our day trips to Anderson and Birkenhead lakes. Was a treat to have an actual bathroom, showers were not operational but on this warm weekend our lake swims were sufficient anyway! Would recommend to those trying to avoid the big busy provincial campsites, and of course, dog friendly which is always our priority!

Dale and their dog Molly welcomed us to the farm on arriving which was such a lovely way to start our day. The campground was nice and quiet and our little one loved looking at the chickens. We felt nice and safe with Molly guarding us from wildlife at night. Anderson lake is right around the corner and Birkenhead is also close by so you can spend all day at the lake and then come back to a nice cozy campground at night. Would definitely recommend!
