Canadian Rockies Retreat

We stayed 2 nights on the RV site near the bridge. This site was fine for a 2-night stop over. Yes, it is by the road, but not a busy one, and if you park the RV parallel to the road you have additional privacy. We had plenty of alone time despite the road. Bonuses: site is near a creek and includes a small swimming hole (with incredible rocks), it is on a horse trail, it is only a short walk to the sleepy bear outhouse and a beautiful hike up to multiple waterfalls. The signage could be improved; otherwise, a nice stop for 1 or 2 nights.

We had a great stay here. Definitely need to have a full self-contained set up though. It was peaceful and had nice views of the creek and mountains. As others have said there are a few horse groups that go past but this didn’t bother us at all. It is near to a road but there was minimal traffic, possibly as we were staying over the weekend. Had the place to ourselves for two nights and it was a great stop for nearby trails and exploring further than the main icefields parkway touristy spots.

The forest that surrounded the site was gorgeous and I really enjoyed hearing the little critters around! The washroom was just a short walk away and was very well kept and charming. I enjoyed the privacy between each campsite and the closeness to the falls and staff place if needed. However, this campsite is super buggy with lots of mosquitoes so be prepared for that! I also didn’t enjoy the AI posters but the site was great nonetheless!

Quiet and peaceful camping

Great campsite so private and quiet. The outhouse is nice surprisingly. The waterfall is beautiful! Had it all to ourselves! Yes lots of mosquitos but you are in the woods! We sat outside and watched the meteor shower!

The place was easy to find, had a picnic bench and plenty of space for the RV! The lot was a single area only meaning there is nobody else around, so as a solo traveller I did feel a little on edge but looking back at the photos it’s pretty clear and I didn’t notice! For someone travelling as a family or couple, I’d recommend! Thank you

It was actually really nice place the hiking the waterfalls I get that’s there’s a horse trail but they don’t bother you, you don’t bother them you barely notice them go by so the people who are complaining about that aren’t country people obviously , it’s always great saying hello meeting new people when we come do these things, the privacy the views was amazing. However the greyed out generator use is questionable you can’t expect people to go out there and not use one we used ours only at night and it wasn’t an issue. So maybe fix that grey area cus no service no water no electricity you need a generator unless you got a good battery.

Stopped here for a second time in a week as we broke up the drive from Edmonton to Manning Park twice. Absolutely amazing site nestled quietly into the bush. As for all the people complaining about mosquitoes… you’re in the bush of the Rockies, what more do you expect? This isn’t a problem of this site but just summer in the mountains. Absolutely will be returning during our next road trip! Cannot beat the price Pro tip: bring a wagon to carry your stuff from your car to site

Unfortunately, we were disappointed in our stay. We booked multiple nights expecting a secluded retreat as described, but we were surprised to be right by a road with frequent traffic, which felt unsafe for the dogs. I also don't mind going the bathroom in the bush, but because the site is essentially in a riverbed with dense bush around, there weren't private places to pee. We tried to find another site after one night (similar to two other guest reviews), but everything else around was booked, so we stayed for a second. This would be a great site as a quick stopover, but I wish I would have looked closely at the pictures before booking it as a multiple day place to rest. I just think the host needs to update the description to be accurate so people know what to expect.

We stayed at this campsite for 2 nights. It was a small and rustic campsite which suited our needs. Unfortunately, the campsite was so overrun with mosquitoes that we avoided the campsite as long as we could and just used it for sleeping. We are avid campers and have dealt with mosquitoes a lot in the past, but this was something else. If not for that, the campsite would be fantastic.

Somewhat confusing to find the parking for the tent sites, but a beautiful spot once settled. Quiet, beautiful and secluded! Definitely recommend going on the short hike to see the waterfall!

We had a very mixed experience. The host was very communicative, but we struggled to find the site (we did come a bit later in the day, but the signage was poor), and the pictures which suggest near the water are misleading. The site is NOT near the water. The waterfalls are beautiful, and the area is lovely, but we also had so many mosquitos that we had to leave a day early; any outdoor activities save cycling were unbearable.

We couldn't find the campsite. :( We drove back and forth on the gravel road trying to find the pathway for about a half hour, getting out of the car to look. We saw yurts, the waterfall, and even the yellow bus. Maybe the directions or signs need to be more clear?

It was ok for the price… however it wasn very secluded or private. It was next to a decently busy road and had off leash dogs and people on horses go past the camp and the dogs would run onto our camp (not sure if they were friendly or not). We left a day early as it wasn’t as private or secluded as advertised and was too noisey.

I loved Flores off grid campsite, will be my go to place to stay when visiting golden. Beautiful short walk to waterfalls, camp sites were close together but were private.

Cute hidden spot in the Forrest. We heard wolfs at night, which gives us a real adventure feeling. Be prepared for mosquitos! We were happy about our mosquito net cause without it would be impossible to stay outside of the tent. They were really hungry!

This spot is truly a hidden gem! 10/10 will be going back. The waterfalls are absolutely beautiful, not to mention just a short beginner hike away. The stars were incredible at night and the mountains were spectacular. The sites are very well maintained, private and it’s extremely convenient as it’s only a 20 min drive to Golden. Truly a magical camping experience!!! I think everyone should take the opportunity to check this place out!

Don’t waste your money!

The site is not as pictures suggest. The RV site is directly next to the road and the waterfalls are over a 15 minute walk away through mosquito infested woods, we had to turn back we were getting bitten so much. It diddnt feel private or secure as it was so close to the road. The mosquitos at our campsite were terrible, you get swarmed as soon as you step outside. Don’t bother, there are far better campgrounds around the area.

Site was well maintained but our site was right next to the road, not too loud. But way too many mosquitoes even spraying your whole body down with many different bug sprays every hour they still somehow came but but I would recommend it. Really nice waterfall to take a shower

Private site. Clean. Quick drive to town. Bring own firewood or grab some before you head up. Waterfall was pretty. Buggy when we were there. Seemed like it was buggy everywhere though, so not specific to camping location.
