Golden Riverfront Campground

Great location, quiet and easy access to the moonraker trails. The view of the Purcell mountains was amazing. Clean showers, fast wifi too. The staff was very friendly and helpful with tips on what to do and where to go. Bring bug repellent.

Check-in was smooth, the location was excellent, and the washrooms were well maintained. However, the mosquitoes were a big problem it was difficult to even step outside because of them.

The campsite was everything you really need in a basecamp. We had some confusion since we accidentally took another camper's spot unknowingly. We came in after hours and the instructions said "head straight to campsite". We had been assigned a different spot -- the note was just on the front door of the main lodge. Nowhere on my instructions did it say to check with the main lodge if it was after hours. We figured it out quick enough though. And the rest of the site was nice.

Nothing the hosts can do really to improve the mosquito situation I think, nice spacious campground overall with clean restrooms and showers. Load up on mosquito spray and keep the fireplace and BBQ going with lots of smoke to keep those little blood sucking bastards in check kind of.

This campground is very cool, there are lots of amenities such as a swimming pond, washrooms, showers and laundry for a fee. The swimming pond is a bit scummy on top but underneath the water is very nice and we were able to clear a path to swim. The mosquitoes however were unbearable. It was impossible to be outside our camper without being swarmed the entire time. There were also many trucks and cars arriving, doing laps and leaving throughout the night until after 11PM which was a bit annoying. They also need to fix their side by side it’s obnoxiously loud and goes through the campground frequently. Overall a nice site and beautiful property, but likely won’t come back due to the bugs and it not being very relaxing.

Beautiful campsite with excellent facilities! The location is stunning, and the washrooms are clean, modern, and very well maintained. There are plenty of services available, and the staff is incredibly kind, responsive, and helpful. One small tip for future travelers: make sure to bring mosquito repellent, as they can be quite active around sunset. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend this place!

Beautiful view and served as a great base camp between Yoho, Kootenay and Glacier National Parks where we spent most of our 4 days. Cold air sinks into the valley so the nights are cold but it isn’t the campsites fault, mosquitoes also were bad but that seemed to be a problem literally everywhere we went after 5. Good amenities, good price :), do recommend.

Has Everything You Need

We camped in the electrical and water hook up for an trailer. It was great, It allowed us to do everything we needed since we were out most of the day hiking and needed all the amenities at night. The shower house/ bathroom was clean, warm water and had laundry if you needed. This was all included for a great price. I would 100% recommend and come back again

Everything was good, except two things for me. The shower could not hold warm temperature. The on-site service vehicle was a bit too loud and disturbing to my ears... personally. Beware of mosquitos, they are present! (mid august)

Beautiful camping spot!

Really gorgeous views, nice spot. Has a wash house, bathrooms, and a good layout. The bugs (mosquitos) are super intense though especially if you’re in a wooded area. We probably got bit 70 times haha. But we’re still happy we went! First time in golden and we loved it!

Great bathroom facilities and nice camp kitchen. As others have mentioned, there are more mosquitos than you can imagine, so don't plan on hanging around your campsite much unless you have a shelter.

Nice to have showers and the warming hut available. The mosquitoes were not enjoyable. We were wanting to set up a tarp and asked if we could move sites. We were told it was booked up for the long weekend, but we absolutely saw many vacant sites. Bathrooms could've used a bit more maintenance throughout the day, especially on a long weekend.

We stayed for 1 night as an overnight stop and never left the RV due to mosquitoes. SO MANY....... Also had an issue with electricity supply so for the first night of our holiday from UK, not the most memorable. Sure it's a lovely place....if you could get out of the RV without being bitten.

The site is in a beautiful location & the facilities are good……but omg mosquitoes! We stayed for 3 nights & must have lost several pints of blood. Reviews had indicated a mozzie issue so I was warned. Washroom block was well looked after but beware….the mosquitoes lay in wait!

The other reviews were spot on. The mosquitoes were horrendous. Not the hosts fault and not even sure what could be done about it. But we actually skipped breakfast our second morning because we just had to get out of there. With bug spray and 3 thermacells it was ALMOST manageable. But that was a big ask just to get out of YNt tent. Literally 5-10 new bites every time we went from tent to car. Location was wonderful but just couldn't do that again.

Nice campground besides mosquitos

The campgrounds were well maintained and lots of space. They had laundry facilities which was great. Our biggest complaint is the mosquito situation. We couldn’t even walk outside without being swarmed and lighting a fire did not help. We were staying in lot 3 in loop 1 which was surrounded by woods - maybe some of the other spots would be less buggy- or a different time of year (we were there end of July). Otherwise a nice spot.

The scenery at this campsite is amazing, but you won't be able to enjoy it much due to too many mosquitoes. Also, there's no drinking water available. Tap waters are not drinkable. Toilets, showers are available but not well maintained and clean. Laundry is available for a fee.

We spent 3 nights at this camp ground, the staff were amazing and friendly. Friday night they had a barbecue and it was very reasonably priced for what you got. Nice quiet well setup campground. We will be back!

This is a great campsite with excellent washrooms. However the mosquitoes are rife! The pitches are well spaced and private with full facilities. Each pitch has a picnic table and fire pit. Firewood is available to buy. The onsite laundry was very useful and reasonably priced at $3 for a washing machine. Mosquito nets on the windows in the washrooms would have made showering a more pleasant experience!

really frustrating our campsite thousands of mosquitoes my daughter get sick because of the mosquitoes bite. we check the others campsite is not bad mosquitoes only our campsite . we can’t stay longer outside the tent. never comeback this campsite.
