We had such a lovely stay! Claire was very responsive. All of the directions to manage the treehouse were clearly outlined and the treehouse looked exactly like the photos! We came during the winter time and there was an abundant amount of wood to keep the tent warm! Overall, we had a beautiful stay with everything we needed.

My group and I had a lovely time staying at Fox Hollow! We are extremely satisfied with the service, everything was as described, and better.
This was such a gem, amazing views and vibes, couldn't have had a better experience.

1 night at Moonraker Treehouse & Cabins
Absolutely phenomenal experience. Claire provided clear, thoughtful, and detailed instructions and information every step of the way, from our questions prior to booking, to the instruction booklets on site that ensured a stress free stay. The property itself was very easy to find and navigate, and the treehouse was absolutely magical. You can feel the love and care that the hosts have put into the property in every detail, and we felt as though they covered every aspect of comfort we could possibly ask for, providing plenty of wood, blankets, and simple, but much appriciated amentities. The treehouse is also within comfortable walking distance from the parking area but is still private, which allows for the most breathtaking and scerene viewing of the mountains and birds in the area. I can't say that I have ever stayed somewhere that has compared to this, and would easily choose this experience over any luxury hotel, even considering our snowy morning. Our only regret is that we only stayed one night, and would definitely recommend booking two or more nights so you can take advantage of the hiking trails and appreciate it too it's full extent!!

I loved Flores off grid campsite, will be my go to place to stay when visiting golden. Beautiful short walk to waterfalls, camp sites were close together but were private.

Loved the silence in this campsite, very private, felt like the only one around for miles, the waterfalls were very pretty and a nice mountain hike as well! It was a clean site and well taken care of outhouse!

3 nights at Golden Glamping Resort
The tent was a good size (for the 2 people it was booked for), the projector was top quality and a really good addition. Ended up watching a film and some tv to fall asleep to, which was great.
The tent and bed were clean, and the utensils were sufficient for our short (3 day) stay.
As someone who doesn't camp often, I was impressed with how inoffensive the smell of a composting toilet was.
Only slight issue is that the water in the hot tub was a bit green, but appreciate that this may be caused by the water supply!
Overall a great stay, and if im back in West Canada, id definitely stay again

Ignore the bad review on here. Place was what was advertised. Would pop in again. Sadly we didn't get to enjoy any trails around as we're fron ontario and had to split first thing in the morning.

Great location, quiet and easy access to the moonraker trails. The view of the Purcell mountains was amazing. Clean showers, fast wifi too. The staff was very friendly and helpful with tips on what to do and where to go. Bring bug repellent.

Dwayne’s land is awesome. He has a fire pit on each camp site and the areas are level for the tent. There’s the sound of a river, that lulls you to sleep at night. The bathroom is clean and close by. I think it’s probably one of the best hip camps I’ve ever stayed at.

The campground was easy to find with lots of amenities and fun activities to keep busy with. We stayed at site #5 which was clean and private with lots of surrounding trees and a good size for my large SUV and a pickup truck with our kayaks.
We chose to explore the wetlands on our own but I wish there was more information/signage readily available for where to park, doc, and kayak as we didn't get a chance to speak with anyone from the campground while we were there. Using the electronic maps provided on the website and messages with the hosts, we were eventually able to figure it all out and had a lovely kayaking journey.
The worlds largest paddle was beautiful but again, not much signage and could easily be missed driving by which would be sad as it was a cool stop. Next time we stay here we will definitely check out the disc golf course, walking trails, and the slip and slide pond.
All in all this would be a great place to stop whether you have kids or are adults looking for a fun weekend adventure.

Claire was great to communicate with and is clearly an experienced host based on the clarity of instructions and the little details included in the cabin to make the experience as smooth as possible. Amazing views from the roof, private space, and less than 10 minutes to Golden.

Weekend Trip to Sauna Under the Stars Camping
I love the GlamperVan! We only stayed the night as we were passing through but I could see myself spending more time here someday. Nicole was incredibly communicative and easy to chat with. Dane, the campground manager was super friendly and helpful too which was fantastic. The place was easy to find from Golden, and once we were on the property it wasn’t hard to follow the signs to the van. The campsite was already set up for us when we arrived and had everything we could possibly need for the stay. Yes, there were lots of mosquitos but you have to expect bugs in the woods! Just a fantastic stay and a great place to get away! Thank you for having us!

Overview
About
Cross the Kicking Horse Pass, the highest point on the Trans-Canada Highway, and stare down onto a spectacular mountain corridor in Yoho National Park. The legendary pass opened British Columbia to the rest of Canada by rail in the 19th century. From the Spiral Tunnels viewpoint, watch a Canadian engineering phenomenon in action as trains disappear into one Rocky Mountain tunnel and emerge from another at a different elevation on the steep slopes.
When to go
The best time to visit Kicking Horse Pass National Historic Site is from mid-May to mid-October when the weather is most favourable for outdoor activities. Winter months can be harsh, with heavy snowfall and limited access, making the warmer seasons ideal for exploration and train watching.
Know before you go
- Ensure you check the weather forecast before your trip, as conditions can change rapidly in the mountains.
- Viewing the Spiral Tunnels is best during daylight hours, with 25 to 30 trains passing daily.
- Wear appropriate footwear and clothing for rugged terrain and variable weather.
- Visitor services are available from mid-May to mid-October; outside these months, plan accordingly.
