Authentic Rocky Mountain Retreat Near Golden, BC Nestled in a peaceful mountain valley along the Blaeberry River, the Blaeberry Chalet and Blaeberry Cabin offer a true escape from the noise and pace of modern life. Set on a private 11-acre forested property just 20 minutes from Golden, BC, these two unique, hand-built cabins were crafted by a former Swiss owner whose alpine heritage is reflected in the craftsmanship and character of the buildings. The larger Blaeberry Chalet is constructed from logs harvested directly from the property, while the smaller Blaeberry Cabin features beautifully rough-cut milled timber, giving each structure its own distinct personality. Both cabins exude an authentic Rocky Mountain pioneer-era atmosphere while offering modern conveniences to ensure a comfortable and relaxing stay. Here you'll find the kind of quiet that’s increasingly rare — star-filled night skies, fresh mountain air, mountain views, and the sounds of nature right outside your door. Wildlife sightings are common and may include deer, elk, eagles, and other native species. The Blaeberry River is less than a 1 km walk along a nearby trail, offering easy access to one of the valley’s most beautiful natural features. This property is the perfect basecamp for visitors wanting to disconnect from urban life and reconnect with nature while experiencing the spectacular scenery of British Columbia’s Rocky and Purcell mountain ranges. Whether you're visiting for adventure or relaxation, you'll experience the authentic rhythm of life in a rural BC mountain valley. Conveniently located near Golden, the property provides easy access to world-class outdoor adventures including: • Hiking in Yoho, Glacier, Kootenay, and Mount Revelstoke National Parks • Skiing and snowboarding at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort • Whitewater rafting on the Kicking Horse River • Wildlife viewing and photography • Backcountry skiing, touring, and mountain biking • Fishing, paddling, and endless outdoor exploration opportunities Whether you're seeking adventure or simply a peaceful retreat, these cabins provide a genuine Rocky Mountain experience in one of Canada’s most spectacular natural settings.

Blaeberry Cabin

Cabin · Sleeps 3 · 2 bedrooms · 3 beds · 1 toilet
The Blaeberry cabin is tucked in the mountainous, rural and peaceful Blaeberry Valley. It's 20 minutes from Golden, west on highway 1, where time stands still and wildlife is abundant. It's an authentic Swiss Chalet style (hand built by the previous owner), and there's a neighbouring log Chalet on 11 acres of forest and meadow (unmowed). You are surrounded by mountains, with a view of the Purcells in the front and the Rockies in the back with the Blaeberry River across the road. The space A cozy cabin with wilderness in the backyard. Renovated bathroom in Oct. 2021. Running hot and cold water, electric baseboard heaters and a small, but full kitchen (stove, oven, fridge, freezer, sink). Get your pioneer on! The cabin was built by the former (Swiss) owner and he built-in a lot of really special rustic character. Forest, mountains, rivers and farmland are yours to soak in or explore. Guest access You'll enter on a new gravel driveway from the main road into the property. A vehicle with high ground clearance is recommended and for-wheel drive is mandatory from Oct.-May. Each cabin has separate parking areas and generally have differing views. The guests are welcome to enjoy the entire property and go beyond into thousands of acres of Crown (government) land beyond the property at the back (east). Other things to note There are some beams where tall people have to watch their heads. There is WiFi and limited mobile phone service (poor reception indoors, better reception in the driveway). There is a non-smart TV, it can be used to watch DVDs. There is lots of nature to enjoy ;) You can hear the horses on the neighbour's property. There is lots of wildlife to enjoy, with deer often grazing daily in the meadow. Registration # H369589517

The Chalet is rustic and it's my home, so I have some personal items around. It's clean, cozy and super unique. There are electric baseboards for heating, with a central thermostat. Get your pioneer on! The chalet was built with lumber from the region by the former (Swiss) owner and he built-in a lot of really special rustic character. Forest, mountains, rivers and farmland are yours to soak in or explore. BC Registration #: H921284342
