About Sue F.’s Land
The Tin Barn Lodge is a newly renovated pole barn which was originally constructed in 1951 to serve the needs of the Meyer family, original owners of the property. Their original house, which is now Comfort Cottage, is one of 3 houses on the property. It is rumored among Meyer descendants that there was a moonshine still on the property during prohibition, and the "bottle graveyard" in the middle creek area would tend to corroborate this rumor. In addition to the Meyer cottage, a second, smaller cottage formerly owned by the Mayer Family was moved onto the property in 2002, the same year in which the main house was built by yet another, different, Meyer family. The three houses comprise The Cottages on Mill Creek, a B&B and event center which has operated on the property. The Tin Barn area, though in close physical proximity to the cottages, is separated by a cattle guard, and the back area is quite private, though cottage guests do also have access to the fishing pond.
The property is located next door to The Prairie by Rachel Ashwell (of Shabby Chic fame), and is only 6 miles from Round Top Square. The town boasts world class classical music facilities (Festival Hill), art venues and galleries, and historical points of interest. Round Top is also home to an internationally-known antique show from mid-March to the beginning of April and mid-September to the beginning of October.

If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
We stayed at Sue's Tin Barn Lodge over the weekend and had an incredible time! Sue greeted us when we arrived, gave us a tour of the barn lodge, and set us up with fishing poles and bait. We spent the afternoon walking the 30+ acres of property, feeding carrots to the mini-horses, fishing, and cooking hotdogs in the outdoor chiminea (there was a fire pit available, but we opted for the chiminea because of strong winds)!
One of our favorite things about the lodge were the beds. There were six, super cute twin beds with extremely comfortable mattresses lining the walls of the barn. Each one had an option to be flipped over and turned into a sturdy table (see photos), which we used to play board games all night long. They are perfect for cards, board games, or dining with the whole family. Since each bed transforms into a table, you can easily seat 25 people with the benches provided.
Another favorite was the home-cooked breakfast in the morning! Sue provided a delicious breakfast and made sure to have everything set up by the time we woke up. We piled eggs, bacon, blueberry pancakes, and fruit onto our plates and ate in the lounge area of the lodge. It was such a nice and unexpected gift – just one of the many ways Sue showed us how kind and hospitable she is to her guests.
We would all highly recommend the Tin Barn Lodge as well as the tent areas outside.
The RV Hookup at Mill Creek is cozy, well shaded, and offers activities to keep the whole family busy for hours. There are 30+ acres at your disposal, a pond for fishing, mini-horses (who LOVE carrots!), and a outdoor patio / lounge area with tables and a chiminea. Sue is a fantastic host – We would highly recommend her property for your next getaway!
