Clear directions. Steve was helpful in finding a good spot to camp. Pretty view. Close to Dallas, yet rural.

The flowers were great. Host was very welcoming. Even made us some burgers and had a big fire while a storm rolled in. Definitely a good time.

A few weeks before the 2024 solar eclipse, I realized I needed to find a place to be during totality. Most events in Dallas were sold out, and everyone warned me about horrendous traffic going anywhere and that I needed to be there the night before. I lucked upon this prairie, which was located deep in the path of totality. Steve was a great host, answered all my questions, and had a generous check-in and check-out time for eclipse day. The prairie was beautiful, and I picked it because it had a bathroom to use. He had an MC give a tour of the prairie and look at the wildflowers, and the MC also guided us through the eclipse timings. There was a cool dog that wandered all over the place. It was not crowded, which was really nice. And all you can see was green. Not a building or road in sight. How great it is to live on the prairie (coming from someone living in an urban California city)! If I lived near Texas, this would be a nice place to go sort of camping.

Beautiful, peaceful place with prairie, hills, wildflowers on the uplands with views of nearby hills, a pond down the hill, and plenty of space to roam. Steve is a friendly, helpful host who cares for the land and enthusiastically helps others understand that rare blackland prairie. Children of other campers enjoyed the "welcoming committee" of chickens, turkey, and friendly dog.

The road to the site was a little rough HOWEVER it had been raining previously.
Backed into my campsite, made myself a cuppa joe took pics and watched the sunset.
If you don’t like the sound of birds, frogs or other wildlife, don’t go.
I however will be back if I get the opportunity.

We had an amazing time at The Indigo Hills Prairie & Wildflow and definitely recommend it. Steve is such a wonderful host, he made sure we had everything we needed and more! We camped at the main campsite, overlooking the pond, which has a nice big firepit with chairs and a hammock. It was a beautiful experience all around. Our 2 boys shared that this is their favorite camping spot now and we all can't wait to go back!

The prairie is Absolutely gorgeous, and the views at the top are hard to find anywhere else in the area. Steve is an incredibly nice host, and the sites he takes you around to each have their own charm to them!

This was an incredible place to go camping! Steve was a pleasure and very accommodating. (Our tent even broke and they helped us fix it). Lots of fun and we made a lot of friends! We will definitely be coming back.

Great place, so many spots to choose from. Steve was a solid host, and I loved his dog Ranger, as well as the wild turkeys who were very friendly.

Super host. Great “can do attitude”. Managed a full camp with many parties gathered for the solar eclipse. Nice property with the lake, fire ring, and grill access, and outhouses.

This spot was great! Steve is a wonderful host - greeted us when we arrived and chatted with us throughout our stay. He even gave us some fresh eggs from the chickens who live on the property! Lots of critters to say hello to, like Ranger the dog and the small flock of turkeys and chickens who are not remotely shy. Great spot that met all of our needs.

I came for eclipse day but others who camped there seemed happy! Cool unique camping site with 50+ avres of black-and-white prairie to explore, an on-site pond and a park across the one lane farm rd just down the hill. Owners very friendly and helpful.

Great stay! Steve is super welcoming and fun. His blackland prairie conservation area is definitely worth visiting and in a few weeks it will be in full bloom! I’d visit again for sure!

Really cool vibe at this place! Steve, the host, was fun as were the other campers, met some great people there. Bathrooms were clean, nice fire pit there. Would definitely come back.

Steve IS a wonderful host, He wasn’t around when we came by but it didn’t stop him making sure this n that beyond our expectations. There’s pond, Lake Lavon nearby, very quiet, fishing friendly-we did catch and release. Beautiful spot, stars were everywhere, we had full moon. Only thing that scared us was the beaver living in the pond- sneaking around to check us out :) Definitely coming back whenever flowers is in full bloom!!!

We had the most amazing experience camping on this wonderfully preserved, native black land prairie. Steve was so kind and helpful to us, he made sure we had everything we needed to have a great weekend! sunrises/sunsets were stunning & with very little light pollution you could see thousands of stars at night! the spring-fed pond felt amazing to dip in and we were pleasantly surprised to not be swarmed by bugs even camping by the water! i highly recommend everyone spend a weekend in farmsville on steve's land!

So beautiful and peaceful! I decided to car camp this time. The owner showed me the property, and let me pick which site would best suit me. They had other campers out out in tents, but the property is so big and beautiful that you couldn't hear or see what the other family's were doing. I don't have not one bad thing to say about this place but I would recommend that you check it out for yourself and enjoy the beauties of nature and peacefulness of night moon and early sunrise.
