Located roughly 20 miles from Beaver Creek State Park, DLR Mustang Ranch is a 17-acre peaceful sanctuary for many wild and previously wild mustangs. The Ranch offers veteran and first responder mustang programs year-round. Please let us know if you are a veteran or first responder for a special rate. Accommodations include a small one-room cabin nestled on a little pond a stone's throw from the main house and veteran program area. The cabin has electricity, a microwave, small refrigerator, tv, futon, heating and cooling; however, it does not have plumbing. Nearby is an outhouse with electricity and a water pump fed from well water. There is a firepit for cooking and picnic tables available. There is also a flat space for tent camping right beside the cabin area. The outhouse and firepit are shared between the cabin and tent campers. If you prefer a more secluded experience, please book both sites. There is space for an RV in the driveway next to the woods with electric hookup and access to the outhouse, water pump, and firepit. While this is a working ranch with farm animals, our aim is to create a peaceful relaxing environment in order to unwind and enjoy the creation around us. Going in the pastures with horses while unaccompanied by the owners is prohibited; however, it can be arranged for you to meet and interact with the mustangs if interested. There are other farm animals including a sheep, a goat, pigs, donkeys, peacocks, turkeys, chickens, ducks and barn cats on the premises. If you want a quaint country escape complete with farm sounds, this is the spot for you!

This small farm is 7 acres of the original 25 my great grandmother purchased for her family in 1934. Guests can enjoy the cabin as well as the barn, which has been converted to a rec area. Make our home and green space yours for a few days. Camp in comfort in our "little cabin in the woods." Accommodates up to six guests, with a queen-sized bed, a futon and two low single beds in the loft, accessible only by ladder. Kids 6 and older may sleep in the loft-- just like Laura and Mary-- and they can read a chapter of one of Laura Ingalls' "Little House" books before bed! Once known as Parkman Gorge the valley was a hub for water powered industry in the early 1800's. The river and valley is home to a wide array of wildlife. Deer, turkey, eagles, hawks, owls, mink, river otters to name a few. The area also attracts many song birds including a wide variety of warblers. There is also an abundance of wild flowers. The valley is rich in Native American history. Many artifacts have been found on the property. My great grandfather talked about the last Native American to live in Parkman. He had a cabin on one of the bluffs along the river. In the 1820's there was a water powered sawmill, flaxseed mill, and forge on the river. The boy scouts used the valley for a camp in the 1920,s. My grandpa purchased the property in the 50's from Ohio Edison. Ohio Edison's plan to dam up the river for hydro power never materialized. The valley has been a favorite for outdoor enthusiasts. Camping, hiking, fishing, hunting. Many of the items used for the camp sites have been reclaimed. The fire rings are old tractor rims and scrap steel. The tent platform is from reclaimed deck lumber. This small farm is 7 acres of the original 25 my great grandmother purchased for her family in 1934. Guests can enjoy the cabin as well as the barn, which has been converted to a rec area. Make our home and green space yours for a few days. Camp in comfort in our "little cabin in the woods." Accommodates up to six guests, with a queen-sized bed, a futon and two low single beds in the loft, accessible only by ladder. Kids 6 and older may sleep in the loft-- just like Laura and Mary-- and they can read a chapter of one of Laura Ingalls' "Little House" books before bed! The Camp Cabin contains a small refrigerator, microwave and gas fireplace (no, the pioneers didn’t have that!). Fresh eggs and other snacks are provided for breakfast. This was the absolute perfect place for me on a long road trip, this cabin has everything you need for a comfortable stay. It's secluded but the hosts aren't far if you need anything else in a snap. The cabin itself and the surrounding area is so beautiful! It was nice to watch the sun rise from the comfort of my bed. J&T are very responsive, and even went out of their way to mail me a pair of earrings I left there, couldn't recommend this place enough!

My dog Teemo and I had a wonderful stay at Jim and Tracy’s A-frame cabin. They really thought of everything when putting this place together. When I arrived after dark, I wasn’t sure I was in the right spot and had spotty service, but Jim showed up within minutes and even started a fire for us while we settled in! The cabin had all the necessities for a cozy weekend — plenty of firewood included, a warm bathroom with a handwashing station, and even a guitar, which was such a nice touch to play by the fire. There are a couple of dollar stores nearby for snacks or produce, which was really convenient. Teemo and I were very comfortable and appreciated how thoughtful and responsive Jim was. We will definitely be back!

We had a great time at Nick’s campground! We had a nice space and no issues at all. The path to the campsites is a little rocky so if you have an older beat up car like us and are driving in the dark, be sure to be careful! There is a close active train track but we didn’t mind it much. Complimentary wine bottles in the outhouse from their local winery as a nice added touch! Would definitely go back!

Hot tent camped the weekend at Gary and Audrey's, Thornhill Bluff campsite with our 2 dogs! Short little walk to a secluded campsite at the top of the bluff. Along the trail are strung lights to help guide you back and light the site up! The site is large and accommodating for the space that I needed. (12ft diameter tipi hot tent, could definitely accommodate larger!) Fire ring at site and enough wood for anyone who stays. Two wood benches for seating at site. Bathroom is up at the house, but available at all times! Clean and a wonderful amenity to have! Absolutely beautiful views in any direction on the Bluff. We hiked along the bluff to check out the steep ravine that leads down to the Sand Run Metro Park. Took a couple rides down the Zipline in the back yard, where there are also trampolines, a private pond and some other fun amenities we haven't checked out yet! Our hosts were amazing, the camping was phenomenal, thank you Gary and Audrey!

The cabin was so cozy,we did have our air mattress with us just incase I was unable to sleep on the futon but was surprisingly comfortable. We actually forgot our tent poles so the trip could have needed a lot of adapting- but with the access to the barn, we were able to set up inside. Facilities & amenities were clean & as described. We stayed at site 2, there was a tree blocking the path but it wasn't too hard to get around. There is a very active train track beside the site, which to us was very cool but to someone looking for a quiet site at night, or somewhere kids can run around without worry, it may be a concern. Great spot located right by CVNP. We enjoyed the campfire and laughed every time a goat would remind us we weren’t alone by sneezing. Even though the sun set early and the cool fall air filled the night we had fun. The barn was a nice surprise and good location for a small party. Woke up in the middle of the night to pee (very clean port-a-potty) and the stars were so clear and bright!

We are currently camping at Guilford SP. We are lakeside and have a campsite overlooking the water with a dock. Check-in was easy and water fill was convenient. Bathrooms are very well kept and clean but water pressure in the shower is low. Unfortunately, the sites are VERY close together and the paved portion is short. We are sitting at our campsite having to listen to a very loud radio 3 sites away. I know there are no rules for courtesy, but because the sites are close and there is no screening between sites, we are at the mercy of our neighbors. A few sites the other direction are 2 very large, loud dogs. I don't know which is worse - loud music or barking. We won't return to this park.

Guilford Lake Campground
I have camped here twice. In summer and in fall. It is a very nice campground and lake. Well maintained with clean restrooms and shower house. There is a short hiking path directly across from the campground that is nice. There is also playground equipment. If you get a spot on the lake side, there are docks in front of the sites where you can fish or just enjoy sitting by the lake. Registered boats are permitted on the water. It is not what I would call secluded as local residents homes can be seen across the lake as well as the sounds heard, but it is not bad. It has electricity, picnic tables and fire rings at each site with water spigots nearby. There is a camp host on site. I like the place and will camp there again in the future.
