***THE POOL IS CLOSED FOR THE SEASON***

All camp sites offer dedicated parking next to site, picnic table, and fire ring.  Accommodate up to 2 tents & all amenities are within a short walk.  Owned by Sam & Dee Williams, Inez Spring Riverfront Park was originally envisioned and created as a family retreat.  As the park began to take shape, the Williams' realized what a hidden gem it really is.  The natural spring that feeds Joshua's pond was named after Sam's mother, Inez.  The area around Eastland is rich with local history, including Captain Eastland and the black bean, Old Rip the horned toad, The Santa Clause bank robbery, Ringling Brothers' Circus, Bonnie & Clyde, etc.  In addition the area is known to have had a significant prehistoric Native American population.  In fact, Sam and Dee are curators of an impressive collection of artifacts found throughout the area.  The park boasts 15 camp sites and a large number of picnic spots along the riverfront and near Joshua's Pond, for day use.  The Williams Family carved out a trail system that takes hikers along the rim of rock outcrops, between the gaps of huge rock formations, along the banks of the Leon River and through a heavy shaded canopy of red oak, pecan and cedar elm.  There's even a small cave for the adventurous spelunker.  Kayaking is popular on the river and kayaks can be rented on the property.  The affordable entry fee provides a full day of fishing, hiking, swimming, boating, picnicking, bicycling, etc.  There is an additional fee for overnight campsites. Take a refreshing swim in Joshua's Pond, hike the nature trails, or go fishing and boating in the Leon River.  Currently open to campers on Friday thru Sunday nights.

First, the location, bathrooms and host hospitality were all A+. Very impressive. However, I happened to stay when this camp hosted the first weekend of it’s first ever Haunted House event, which took patrons by tractor through the tent sites (which were closed off) until about Midnight. As accommodation, the hosts placed me, in a tent, up in the RV area which they were also renovating, essentially a barren dirt field without many trees to block the wind and also closer to the Interstate with its increased traffic noise. Not completely what I expected for a quiet campsite after a full day’s drive. I do appreciate the host’s willingness to let me choose where to go and offer to provide the best experience possible but there were not many options to avoid what I describe. Thankfully, the Haunted House crowd was not as loud as I thought they would be. I count it as simply bad timing and not bad campground or hosts, but all things the same I would rather the hosts not have accepted my request to stay and avoided it this time.

This is a beautiful piece of land and the work they’ve put into it is truly amazing. The pool, the playground- it’s all beautiful. Unfortunately, the location under I-20 presented enough traffic noise and headlights into the camp area that no one really slept well. I hoped as the night wore on that things would quiet down, but interstate traffic never stops. This is the only reason we won’t return- the hosts were super welcoming and the amenities are great, but these are not ideal conditions for sleeping.

Wonderful place! We tent camped down at the bottom. Great friendly helpful staff. TONS of shade, fire rings with wood already stacked, grills and chairs at campsite. Clean toilets (portajohns). Pool is awesome with diving platform, rope swing, and slide. Normally have kayak rentals for the river but due to drought that was not available this trip. They are adding more RV spots at the top of the hill, too.

My only tip is to bring earplugs for bedtime because the drone of the highway is noticeable but bearable.

We loved tent camping & the fact that we were in a very secluded & private campsite away from others! Great Christian staff who were very kind & helpful. All of the campsites are very shaded & we were able to relax & even take a nap in our chairs in the middle of the day in July! We had a wonderful vacation with our kids for my husband’s birthday! Thank you so much! We will definitely be back & recommend your beautiful park to all of our friends!
