This riverfront, fully equipped, beautifully crafted treehouse is not your average child's treehouse, but kids are certainly welcome. Walk up the easy 14 steps into this A Frame tiny house and you'll be surprised at the roominess. Inside you'll discover a full kitchen, full bathroom with shower, living area with sofa bed sectional, dining area, and loft with a queen bed. Step out on the deck, just a stone's throw from the river and listen to the sounds below of the gurgling moving water over the rocks. Move down below the treehouse to find another huge deck with a hot tub, relaxing seating, and a table for dining outside. But that's not all; step off that deck to a fire pit and steps leading to the river. The river is great for swimming, fishing, and boating and we even supply a canoe and kayaks. Much of the treehouse was built with wood from the property, including the poplar floor joists, rafters, and siding. Inside you'll find several different species of beautiful wood, most from the property, including black walnut, oak, ash, cherry, and more. The two giant Tulip Poplar trees that supports the treehouse continue to grow and in the early summer produce the tulip like flowers. If you're up for exercise or adventure, just across the river is the H&BT Bike Trail, which is now 14 miles long. A short drive takes you to a trailhead or if you're just looking for a hike on the trail, canoe across and climb up the short hill to the trail. Also across the river is a 2600 acre Pennsylvania State Game Land and 2000 foot high Kimber Mountain; if you're looking for a challenging and primitive hike, climb the mountain or work your way up Kimber Run, a small brook with many small waterfalls. Adventure abounds near Treehouse Waters. There are also many other things to do in Bedford and Huntington Counties. Spend your day bird watching on the river deck, put up your hammock and chill, go hiking or mountain biking at Cacapon State Park, take the kayaks out and paddle around, go fishing, or take a float trip. I can provide info on put in/take out spots depending on how long you'd like to float. I have 3 kayaks available for your use, or BYO if you'd like to venture further outside of the property lines. There is one big fire ring for cooking and/or bonfires, along with a large stationary stand up charcoal camp grill. There is also a small communal shed down at camp that contains extra camping supplies, etc.. feel free to use use and put back and or contribute to it! :) This spot is close by to Berkeley Springs, Paw Paw Tunnel, Cacapon State Park, and other nature preserves. More hiking, biking, restaurants, spas, antiquing- all within a beautiful 20 minute drive if you wish to venture out. There is a cabin on the property. I will more often be home than not, I will communicate with you about that around your stay. Sometimes I"ll come down to the river frontage if I drop in for a float .Also, we all get around on four wheelers and UTV's. So you will hear them from time to time. If I am home, please feel free to come up if you have any concerns/questions or to say hi! :) *Please note, you can normally get to this site without a 4 wheel drive vehicle. However, when the river is high it will sometimes flood the low water bridge where it crosses the Cacapon. So although your vehicle will be parked within 50 ft or so from site, you cannot pull directly up to the site and get any closer because of the trees. - SHOWER and PORTA POTTY - roughly a 5 minute or less walk from sites to shower and / or porta potty. Shower hours are 8 am- to 8 pm. The shower has hot and cold running water . You can drive to the shower if you need to. - RESPONSE TIME - This is a working herb farm/ sanctuary and we so do not always have our phones on us. Evensong Farm is a preserved historic farm adjacent to the Antietam National Battlefield. We have set up two, almost identical, sites on a 60 acre parcel of our farm which is very private for our campers, but allows access to the lovely Antietam Creek. The sites themselves are about 500 feet apart so, while they maintain privacy when booked by different parties, can also be booked together for group stays. We have been hosting campers at our "glampsites" since 2021. Each off-grid site has a 12x16 platform with a 10x12 canvas side wall tent, a firepit and chairs, a cooking area with a grill and sink for washing up, a picnic table and benches, and a private bathroom with a composting toilet and solar shower bag. The main tent is set up for 2 people, although 4 is possible. The sites can handle a max of 12 people, with the use of additional tents (BYO or you can set up some of ours). We provide an electronic camp guide to all of our campers that include our recommendations for things to do in the area, as well as camping tips and other handy info. Inside the tent you will find a queen size bed, side tables, and a cafe table and chair set. We have put down foam flooring and a carpet for your comfort and provide numerous battery powered lights, lanterns and fans. In cold months we can add a propane heater to keep the chill away. We also have some games, maps of the area, decks of cards, and a fire extinguisher. Stepping outside the tent you'll find our long rainfly creates a covered porch where you can relax on our provided chairs. There are additional chairs around the firepit and each firepit has a cooking grate so you can cook over your campfire. We provide one bundle of firewood (including kindling) per night with your reservation. We do sell additional firewood, if needed. In our kitchen area you will find a picnic table and chairs, 5 gallons of drinking water, a clean up table that includes a foot operated pump sink with an additional 5 gallons of washing water, a grill (one site has propane and the other has charcoal), trash and recycling bins, grill tools, lighters, plus dish and hand soaps. Our farm is a mile and a half from the town of Sharpsburg, MD, home of the Antietam National Battlefield (and Nutter's Ice Cream Shop). You will find the Appalachian Trail to our east and the C&O Canal to our west (10 minute drive to either).

Pet-Friendly Paradise Dogs are very welcome and will love the open space, trails, and water. Privacy and Comfort The cabin sits on land that has been in my family for over 50 years and was formerly a Girl Scout camp, offering a unique and peaceful setting. I'm nearby if anything comes up, but you'll have plenty of privacy during your stay. A contact number is provided in the cabin for your convenience. Please note that the road to the cabin is unpaved and can become muddy. It's always rocky, so drive with care.

Weekend Trip to Casita Of LOVE (Panhandle WV)

We stayed just overnight (a middle point between home and our final destination) but my husband and I both agreed that we would have loved to’ve stayed longer in this peaceful spot! We were mildly worried that it might be hot inside when we arrived (early evening) but it was perfect — and, as other reviewers have said, it made for really comfortable sleeping with the powerful fan and the breeze. We wish we’d had time to see the river. Maybe someday!

We really enjoyed staying at the treehouse. Treehouse is a great facility on a lovely spot right next to the river. All the amenities were great, from the fully equipped kitchen, the comfy bed, the porches and the hot tub. It was the perfect get away for our anniversary and our first experience with “glamping”. Weekend Trip to Beespoke Farms

Well equipped campsite with great views! The 4 of us slept comfortably here in the 2 A-frames, which were clean and more spacious than expected. The site is very peaceful and secluded, and we had a good view of the night sky for the meteor shower. It was also fun to watch the curious alpacas on the other side of the fence. We had a great time and would definitely stay here again!

This place is exactly as described! We were prepared to camp so basic amenities, like the outhouse and solar shower, that would deter others were just fine for us. It felt very remote but there were resources within a short drive. The host was very communicative and went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. Our pup was happy to see there were even dog toys for her. We enjoyed stargazing by the pond, hearing the owls, coyotes, and whip-poor-wills at night, and catching glimpses of lizards and box turtles!

1 night at WonderWoods at Rocky Gap

This was our second visit - the first time we camped in tents. This time we stayed in the Acorn Palace, and it was everything I dreamed it would be. Such a perfect spot to camp in luxury! Kristen provides so many little touches to make the Palace the perfect cabin. She was welcoming and accommodating, and super easy to communicate with. We will definitely visit again!

Very quiet, very private and peaceful setting. Three nights is just not enough time. Take all of your fishing gear including bait with you- If you don’t have a 4WD, it’s not a place for you, lol. The roads to get to it are a bit rough but well maintained but rough- hard to explain. I loved it. Bruce- great host! Clean place. Small college fridge- bring an extra cooler. Hot tub nice but needs clean otherwise awesome extra. Worth it! Going back!

Staying at Pablo and Lorena's Invisible Love House was the highlight of my summer! My partner and I spent two nights here and left feeling rejuvenated and incredibly relaxed. Pablo was incredibly kind and dropped us off at a spot with kayaks to spend a few hours on the river. We were delayed in getting back (no service on the river meant that we couldn't message him and let him know) and he was there ready for us when we arrived. I appreciate the time he took out of his day to make sure we had the best stay possible. The cabin was cozy, clean, and had everything we could need! There was a huge thunderstorm one of the nights we were there and watching it from the inside of the cabin was so magical. I cannot recommend this place enough:)

Weekend Trip to A 1000 Miles from Nowhere Cabin

I personally loved 1000 miles cabin. It's rustic and perfect for a weekend to unplug. Pros: The goats, cows, owls, squirrels and deer were plentiful. I was able to take my reactive dog to a place where she could be herself. Host was very responsive and attentive. Pond is within walking distance and it's such an amazing little rustic hunting cabin. Honestly everything was amazing for what I wanted Cons: spiders lol this was on me for getting rustic with arachnophobia 🤣 My only fair warning is with the rainstorm I used my 4wd to make sure I got through one set of ruts in the road, don't think I really needed it but it did downpour all morning and the ruts were a little slick. Overall, the host made this place amazing for those who want minor creature comforts and for those who want to unplug for the weekend. Donnie's (Tracy's) is right down the road and you must try their burgers and pizza, SO GOOD. There's also a dollar general 5 minutes from the cabin if you forget anything.

7 nights at Casita Of LOVE (Panhandle WV)

We had a wonderful stay at the invisible house on Pablo and Lorena's property! It is secluded and serene but Pablo and Lorena always responded super quickly and were SO friendly and helpful whenever I had a question. You're set up on a hill a little ways back from their house, so you have plenty of privacy. We wound up spending a lot of time at the cabin just hanging out, having fires, lounging in the chairs on the back porch. The invisible house gets hot during the day in late July, but the large fan actually keeps it super cool at night and the beds are comfortable. I got some of the best sleep of my life here. The private river access is a few minute drive or 15-20 minute walk away and wow, it is beautiful there. Perfectly clear water, great for swimming and would be nice for kids as it doesn't get too deep until you're out quite a ways. Went fishing at the public river access up the way and caught several sunnies and smallmouth. Nearby Prospect Peak and the overlook in Cacapon state park are breathtaking. Tons of fun stuff to do in Berkeley Springs, Fairfax coffee house and the massive cat cafe absolutely rock. I can't say enough good things about this place and our hosts. If you're looking at this place thinking about booking, do it! You won't regret it.

Would recommend in general, even though our stay was accidental as we thought we reserved the hosts’ OTHER rental! Be prepared that you are actually staying in a treehouse originally built for kids and now used as a rental. We slept very soundly to the music of raw nature!

Cowans Gap Park Campground

We live in the Baltimore area and this is my favorite "local" (<2 hr) park. We have camped here 6-8 times. The lake is beautiful, the sites in the main A loop are decent (note that pets are accepted only in a certain section) and the nonelectric B loop and tent-only sites are good too. Hiking nearby is as easy or as challenging as you want it to be. If you can bring your own kayak or canoe or SUP board, even better. Great spot.
