We purchased this slice of paradise in 2003 as a place to relax, recharge, and someday build our dream home. It started as nothing more than a gravel road leading to a small clearing with an old bus and a couple decks. Our children have grown up out here learning a deep respect for nature and the real (non digital) world. Now empty nesters, we live on site. Part of our retirement planning is to spend next several years developing the lower portion of the property (approx. 15 acres) into a campground and retreat for our guests, as well as our own family, friends, and grandchildren.
The campground area (currently) consists of a handful of primitive campsites, and a group area. We are working steadily on improvements, including adding more sites, improving the roadways, and upgrading the common areas. In all we will likely have 12-15 total designated camping areas (including a group area or two, as well as a couple hike to secluded locations).

Located between Portland and Mt. Hood, Camp Cedar Creek is a peaceful retreat tucked into a creek valley just off Highway 26. Only six minutes from downtown Sandy, but feels worlds away.
Our 37-acre property features Cedar Creek, ponds, trails, and meadows. While we have a handful of sites that comfortably accommodate 2-4 guests, many of our most popular sites are ideal for families, friend groups, and gatherings looking for space to spread out.
Cool off in the creek, hike the trails, pick blackberries when they're in season. Whether you're road-tripping through the Pacific Northwest, working remotely from your van, or simply seeking a quiet weekend outdoors, there's a place for you here.
We acknowledge that Camp Cedar Creek is on the traditional homelands of Indigenous peoples including the Multnomah, Wasco, and Molalla, and the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs and Grand Ronde. We are grateful to care for this land and ask guests to treat it with respect.

Our property literally borders the scenic highway. Because we are so close, you can hear the sunset-view-seeking drivers, motorcycle riders, and yes, racers who come out this way for a spin on one of the most scenic highways in the world. Traffic quiets down after dark and mornings are quite 'chill'.

The cabin on the property was built by the original homesteaders. Britta and Jim purchased the property in 2009. It had been vacant for a number of years. Giant slash piles scattered the land from previous logging.
The house and cabin were not livable and needed major renovations. In 2019, we purchased and brought in a city bus and converted it to a campers kitchen.
A year-round creek flows through the property and 3 major rivers are nearby. The Zigzag Mountain Lookout Trail leaves from the property. The property was homesteaded in the early 1900's. E. Mountain Drive was the wagon train trail into Portland, known as the Barlow Trail.

Weekend Trip to Garden & Galaxy PDX Urban Retreat
Shannon’s garden felt like a magical hidden urban escape. We were right in the heart of Portland with an easy drive to anywhere we wanted to go. The backyard cottage was very private and relaxing - but we spent most of our time there sitting in the garden enjoying it. We loved meeting Danny the dog and Shannon’s food and coffee recommendations (of which we used one for every meal during our stay) knocked it out of the park. Her hospitality was the difference between Portland as a stopover for us and a vacation stop we wish we’d had more time at. Definitely recommend!

Weekend Trip to Crown Point Hipcamp
This space was wonderful and I would love to stay there again. The bed was super soft, you might roll into each other but that was good for us 💗 the kitchen was setup well and very convenient. The shower was great. We didn't get a chance to use the hot tub or sauna unfortunately and will have to next time. The road was a little noisy but not unlike many campsites. Electricity and coffee provided made this the ultimate glamping spot. Rick and his partner were wonderful and kind. I couldn't be happy with my stay. It was also our anniversary and they left us a beautiful bouquet of flowers with happy anniversary letter. I felt at peace there.

We had a wonderful stay at this cabin and truly appreciated the serenity and peaceful atmosphere of the property. One of our favorite parts was simply walking the land and taking in the quiet surroundings! The cabin was thoughtfully prepared with many amenities that made the stay comfortable and relaxing — even small touches like having ice ready in the cooler were greatly appreciated. Everything was very clean and well maintained, including the composting toilet and shower, which exceeded our expectations. Overall, it was a relaxing and memorable getaway, and we would absolutely stay here again.

Our little get away was perfect. The yurt was clean, comfortable and stocked with fire wood. The bathhouse was clean, stocked and kept warm with a heater. The property caretaker stopped by and was friendly and asked if we were needing anything and enjoying our stay. We will definitely be back!

1 night at Crown Point Hipcamp
Camping in the tipi was great for a slightly drizzly night early in the season. The propane fire pit is a nice touch, however you may need to bring a lighter to start it, which we did not have. It was nice waking up to the sound of birds. Rick was helpful and easy to communicate with. Be aware that there is significant road noise from the highway nearby, specifically semi trucks engine braking as they go down the hill.

Honestly, it was the absolute best campsite I’ve ever stayed at. From the moment we arrived, the host was incredibly friendly and professional. He gave us a full tour of the property and truly made us feel welcomed and appreciated. The accommodations were top-notch — everything was exactly as listed and extremely clean. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for an amazing getaway. This is a must-visit spot, and I’ll definitely be coming back for a longer stay next time.

Fantastic spot! Will definitely be back in the future. Great hosts, tons of privacy and river access is great! Bed was clean and comfy with no issues getting to sleep and the cabin stays plenty warm. If you have mobility issues do take note that there is a slightly (maybe 0.2 miles or so) of a walk to the campsites with a slightly steep hill but it wasn’t a big issue at all and the paths/signage are very well maintained. River access also has sand which makes it very nice when accessing. Overall 10/10 camping spot and worth every single penny! 👍

Easily one of the best camping experiences we’ve had. Absolutely stunning walk to the cabin, and our own private beach leading up to the stream. We added on a cooking bundle and firewood which we’re waiting for us upon arrival! I cannot recommend this spot enough, you will not regret it!

Milo McIver Campground
This campground is lovely, has rather private sites especially on the outer edge of loops, well-kept restrooms, and all amenities for RV's. The larger park offers hiking trails. I have a kid who's not that into hiking, but guess what he does love? Frisbee golf. The frisbee golf course is open to the public, and very large and well-maintained. It has over 18 holes and takes hours to get through. There are fun and challenging holes. Thanks to the park day use fee of $5, the grass is always mowed, the metal baskets are in great shape, and I've had coworkers from Californa who are into disc golf gasp when I say I went there during the weekend - yes, it's THAT well known, and for a good reason.
Come to camp, and to chuck a frisbee around, even if you don't know how to play!

Awesome spot, very close to Portland and the state park is BIG. Perfect for a quick getaway. Floating, swimming, and disc golf are a plus.

sites are dry landscape, can create a lot of dust. No sewer here, dump station available. Lake, with boat ramp, nearby (within walking distance).

Well the winds are gone !! The camp is all cleaned up so hope to see you all soon. There is camping sites still available for drop ins in the meddle of the week. But make sure that you look up availability frist. This camp has something for everyone. Hiking Fishing. And much more!!! And for you disc golfers a out standing and clean corase for a day of fun. Also some of the best Camp Hosts you will find anywhere.

Hip Camp review on Milo Mclver State Park
Well this is your shirtless host l am still at Mcliver. I will be here for the next 5 months. The camp will open for camping in just 15 more days. Mar. 10th. Is opening day for camping but day use is open all year. If you have not been to Mclver you must make it one of your future spots. The camp is right on the Clackamas river just out side Estacada Or. The moss covered trees are out of this world to
see. The camp has 44 water/electric and about 9 tent camping spots. You will have a lot to do fishing hiking disc golf horse back riding group camping. Also has a Hatchery in the camp. Short trips to Mt. Hood, Portland, and much more. You will love your camping experience at Mclver.

Hip camp review on Disc Golf course at Milo McLiver State Park.
Just 25 miles east of Portland OR. In the town of Estacada along the Clackamas River. McLiver is a year around day use park and camping during the summer. The Riverbend Day use area has one of the best Disc Golf Course in the Portland Area. This is a 27 hole course and has both Amateur and Pro. Courses. The Disc Course is along the river and in the middle of this 950 acre park. I walked the course the other dayit is flat and each tee is well marked and in a pictureress setting.
The 4 large picnic shelters along the course will accommodate large groups. This course is the Home of the Beaver State Fling!!! This is a Professional Disc Golf Association ( P.D.G.À. ) Tournament.

Ditch the car and hike or bike in from Estacada. You can take a TriMet bus from Portland & hike the 2 1/2 miles to the campground, where you can stay at the Hiker/Biker camp. It has a sheltered picnic area with lockers that have solar-powered USB outlets.
