I loved the horse farm. The camping site was isolated enough away from everything, with a nice view. Bren is a great guy, very welcoming. The horses come right up to you from behind the fences. I brought my dog with me and they were very friendly with him. Water sources are easily accessible. The fireflies were amazing. 10 out of 10.

Our stay at Kathleen’s land was absolutely fantastic. We stayed at Site 10, which was exactly what we were looking for—secluded, peaceful, and immersed in nature. It felt like our own private oasis. The site is just a short, beautiful hike away from a waterfall, making it a perfect spot for those who enjoy a little outdoor adventure. Plus, it’s only about an hour and a half drive from Brooklyn, making it an ideal weekend getaway without a long drive. Kathleen herself was an incredible host. She greeted us at the site, gave us a thorough tour, and made sure we had everything we needed. Her warmth and hospitality made us feel instantly at home and welcome. We spent quite a bit of time at her pond, trying out the paddle boards, relaxing in the water, and having fun on the tree swing. The experience was absolutely unforgettable and added an extra layer of magic to our stay. Although Site 10 was our favorite, we also took a peek at other sites on the property, and they were just as charming and well-maintained. Each site had its own unique appeal, which has us already planning our next trip to explore more of this beautiful property. If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat with stunning natural beauty, Kathleen’s land is the perfect spot. Her amazing hospitality and the breathtaking surroundings made this one of the best trips. We’re already counting down the days until we can return!

Kathy’s place was the perfect little oasis away from everything but close enough to not be away from everything. My 5 year olds loved hiking to the waterfall, swimming in the wading pool, and roasting marshmallows! We’re definitely coming back. We loved our site and would totally book it again or try another on the property. Cleanest composting toilet outhouse I’ve ever seen. ZERO smell. Kathy was refilling supplies around and stopped to introduce herself. My boys say it’s their new favorite vacation!

Kathleen was a fantastic host and made the experience way better. She greeted my dad and I on site, made sure we had everything we need and gave us a run down of the land on where we could hike and what we could do. The site (Site 3) itself was fantastic, perfect spacing between sites, and was well taken care of. I personally have a tent in the back of my truck, there was plenty of room for me to park it and be right on site. Firewood price was extremely reasonable and the site had a dedicated pit and grill grate for enjoying and cooking. I would absolutely camp here again, it felt safe, welcoming, and all together a wonderful nature getaway.

This is our second time back to Camp Nox and we plan to keep coming back! It's so nice to be able to drive up, have the tent all ready (with some lovely snacks!), a place to make a quick fire, and a great outdoor kitchen setup. A great place for a getaway from Philly.

Very close to local hikes and food. The land was private, tidy, and everything was accounted for. Even with the oppressive heat we had this weekend we were able to enjoy everything it had to offer. The host was friendly and accommodating

It was a lovely shaded spot. Thank goodness since we camped during a heat wave. 🥵 It was quite private, except for the horses who would meander down to check us out. There is water available and a porta john however it's a little under a quarter mile away. All in all we really enjoyed our stay and would stay again in cooler weather. 😊

Always working on improvements! My second glamping site "The Medieval Encampment", is available for booking starting April 1st of 2025. I will have more pictures soon. In April of 2024, my long awaited 1st Glamping site was available for booking. It's been very popular! Please read the description carefully of the "Gypsy Rose Vardo", to see if it's the right fit for you. I also have 10 large camping sites available on our 33 acre property located in Northwest NJ. Sites 1 through 4 are on mowed, fairly level fields and are large enough for campers or RV's up to 30ft, or a couple of tents, and sites 5 and 6 are further back in the woods, available only for a few small tents, sites 7 through 10 are much further into the property and are only accessible with a high clearance AWD or 4WD SUV or you can park and hike your gear in. There are 3 compost toilet outhouses spread out through the property, so it's an easy walking distance from any site. Although we are only 2 1/2 miles from a main highway, the last 2 miles are on a dirt road with no houses. We are surrounded by protected land, so no neighbors and lots of wildlife, including the occasional bear, coyote or raccoon. Keep all food items secured. Because we are surrounded by protected land we are not sprayed for insects, so be safe and do tick checks often and bring the bug spray. We are 45 minutes from NYC or the Delaware Water Gap and an hour away from the NJ shore. There are horse farms nearby that offer trail rides. We are also close to the Highland and Appalachian Hiking trails. There are two reservoirs within a 20-minute drive for canoeing or kayaking. There are walking trails through our property, including a ten-minute hike on a marked trail to a small waterfall in a ravine.

The canvas tent sleeps 4 but feel free to pitch another tent (or rent one of ours) for additional sleeping space. The campsite has parking for up to three vehicle but is not able to accommodate RV's or travel trailers. Plan your perfect getaway at this peaceful secluded site! We have on its own site a 1965 Trotwood, canned ham style camper. This cozy piece of the past is restored for nostalgic reflection. It has fine appointments, kitchenette, indoor private potty. She will sleep 4 comfortably. There are many parks, conservation reserves and nature trails to hike nearby. Your can bike along farm roads in the area and find places to have your picnic lunch. Forgot some supplies?- within 3 short miles are many shops, services and resturants, many deliver. Several varieties of wildlife are in the area: you will spot eagles, white tail deer, racoons, wild turkeys and red fox, to name a few, while you stroll, bike or drive throught the area. Stop at the many creeks and enjoy the vibrant sounds of the bubbling waters; fish, frogs , turtles, blue heron and the many critters who habitate the waters. For birders there are over 75 species of birds within a short walk. During changes of seasons you can often see many birds in flight migrating to far away places. Bring your binoculars and camera. For you shop and antique explorers, just a short drive to the Delaware River and its quaint villages only 10 miles away: Lambertville, New Hope and Frenchtown. Access to the campground is managed on a first-come, first-served basis through the Firefly Reservation system, ensuring a fair allocation of sites. Before securing a reservation, campers must agree to a set of rules designed to maintain the campground's integrity and enhance the experience for all visitors. While FOTO currently does not charge a fee for using the campground, they welcome donations to support their efforts. Donation boxes are conveniently located along the trails, and a QR code is available in several spots for easy access to make contributions. Cheesequake State Park is a remarkably diverse landscape consisting of hardwood forests, swamps, freshwater and saltwater marshes, open meadows and pine barrens. The park is an example of what grows in the transition between the coastal salt marshes and inland forests of New Jersey. A number of trails meander through the area so you can explore the diverse vegetation up close and personal. Dust off those botany skills from school or visit the Interpretive Center for a little history refresher. Afterwards you can spend time fishing or swimming in the well stocked Hooks Creek Lake or try your hand at crabbing along the bridge at the lake. You might be thinking, this all sounds awesome but where can I get some cheesecake? Sorry to break it to ya, but cheese don't grow on these trees!
