Ichetucknee Springs offers excellent river rafting. We purchased our 3.39 acres two years ago and all that was on it was a RV and lots of pine trees, palmettos, woods and a small pond in the front of the property.  Over those two years we have turned it into our little piece of heaven.  We've added two more RV hookups which our son parked his camper on one.  We built a fully furnished cook shed and on the back side of it we have an enclosed fish cleaning area.  The cook shed also has an enclosed eating area.  In addition, we build a full size bath house / laundry room for the convenience of our campers.  We cleared out the back of our property and had a large fish pond dug and it is actually spring fed.  We have stocked it with all kinds of fish.  We have a dock that goes out to the pond and you can stand and feed the fish.  If you like to fish you can catch and release.  There is also a table and chairs out next to it if you want to sit and relax.Learn more about this land:Quiet 3.39 acres with a RV hookup, two ponds, a separate bathhouse/laundry room on the premises in addition to a cook shed with grills and cookers (propane included) along with fish cleaning station. We have a fire pit available to use (wood included). We're located approximately a mile from the boat ramp and Roy's restaurant where you can enjoy beautiful sunsets. Keaton Beach is just 17 miles from us which has a nice little beach and beautiful scenery.

We purchased our 3.39 acres two years ago and all that was on it was a RV and lots of pine trees, palmettos, woods and a small pond in the front of the property.  Over those two years we have turned it into our little piece of heaven.  We've added two more RV hookups which our son parked his camper on one.  We built a fully furnished cook shed and on the back side of it we have an enclosed fish cleaning area.  The cook shed also has an enclosed eating area.  In addition, we build a full size bath house / laundry room for the convenience of our campers.  We cleared out the back of our property and had a large fish pond dug and it is actually spring fed.  We have stocked it with all kinds of fish.  We have a dock that goes out to the pond and you can stand and feed the fish.  If you like to fish you can catch and release.  There is also a table and chairs out next to it if you want to sit and relax.Learn more about this land:Quiet 3.39 acres with a RV hookup, two ponds, a separate bathhouse/laundry room on the premises in addition to a cook shed with grills and cookers (propane included) along with fish cleaning station. Sarah's site was well off the beaten path; old Florida country at it's best! The camps have an unobstructed view of the river, with easy access to the dock. Lots of old growth trees for canopy. Sarah was very communicative, willing to work with us as we chose parking for the RVs and overall happy to help. Electric & water hookups are a bit farther away than we were used to, but she told us ahead of time and we were able to bring the connectors needed. Definitely recommend to those seeking a true "get away" without an abundance of unnecessary amenities & people.

I highly recommend Big Oak Farm Dog and Horse Camping! It’s an idyllic little spot to stay with the family, with pets or solo. It’s easy to locate and very accessible near a state road. I booked last minute, (I’m talking about an hour beforehand). The host responded quickly and was very welcoming. Every time I reached out through the app, during my stay, the response was quick. The hosts were attentive, but definitely gave you your privacy. Although, their very clear directions and instructions were posted on the site, they took the time to greet me personally and helped me get set up with water and electricity, using their own hose and extension cord to save me the trouble of dragging out my own. There is a large fenced in area for the dogs to run around safely. My 3 had a great time and were fascinated by the pig and the emu in the adjoining field. It’s a beautiful sight to see horses in the field while having your morning coffee! I decided to book a second night after seeing the stars the first night. There is no noticeable light pollution and little to no traffic at night. I would recommend bringing a telescope, you won’t be disappointed. I would definitely stay again!

This was such a peaceful camp spot. We really enjoyed our time here swimming and just taking in all gorgeous nature around us. Having the sink all to ourselves was such a treat. Especially after experiencing the chaos of Ginnie on a weekend, getting to swim alone here felt extra special. It was also giving me serious Mexican cenote vibes. Who knew there was a slice of Tulum right here in our backyards. It was truly a tropical paradise hidden in plain sight, we loved every moment.

The spot is perfect. Lots of room and easy to back into. I have a 42' 5th wheel and no problem. The hosts are super nice and everything is easy to hookup. It is also a quiet neighborhood and friendly neighbors. Nice place to walk around in the evenings. Bugs are bad cause by the river, but hey it's Florida so that's like everywhere. Also less than 10 mins from an awesome bike and hiking trail, Nature Coast Trail, which will take to neighboring towns and several springs to gk check out. I will stay again if we come back to the area

Last time we stayed it was very last minute so we didn’t expect the site to be prepped and ready for renters. This time we booked a month in advance for an 8 night stay. Site was very overgrown with lots of weeds. We do recommend- area is lovely and locals are very friendly. We will rent again. The low cost is worth the weeds

Stroll the boardwalk in Florida’s Manatee Springs State Park to take in sights of “trees with knees” in the namesake first-magnitude spring, which pumps out as much as 150 million gallons of water a day. The clear waters of the spring run eventually join the tea-stained Suwannee River, offering scenic spots for kayaking, swimming, and fishing along the way. You might even spot cave divers–-or join them! During cool weather, manatees visit the park. Over eight miles of biking and hiking trails meander through cypress swamps and around sinkhole ponds. A camping area offers sites for tents and RVs. Glamping rentals are also available.

Tips for snagging a campsite

  1. Reservations for may be made on the Florida State Parks website or by phoning 800-326-3521.
  2. Florida residents can make campsite reservations 11 months in advance, while non-residents can make reservations 10 months in advance.
  3. Advanced reservations are recommended for weekends and holidays.
  4. Most sites have water and electric hookups, with select sites offering full hookups.
  5. A dump station is available.
  6. Campers with RVs longer than 40 feet may be limited to select sites or may not find accessible sites. Check with the campground for full details.

When to go

The best time to visit for manatee sightings is winter, when the spring waters attract these popular sea cows. Winters are generally pleasant and good for outdoor recreation year round, with daily highs in the 60s and 70s. While lows may dip into the 30s, freezing temperatures are rare. The rest of the year offers nice weather in fall and spring, while summer is often hot and humid, with the likelihood of rain and thunderstorms.

There are alligators in the river, but a rope marks their highest ascent in any year. (Do you trust a rope?) Incredible clear water flows from the spring, where swimming is popular. Shaded campground. Nice walk out along the path to the Sewanee River.

Manatee Springs is the perfect campground for a family outing. With numerous sites being located near the springs it makes for a perfect diving/snorkeling destination. The park offers various hiking trails as well.
