Thank you to Lynn and David for making us feel welcome on the property. We spent 3 nights camped at Artists Nature Retreat. The property was quiet from road noise but alive with sounds of birds, chickens and roosters. The campsites were spaced apart for privacy. Lynn and David greeted us on arrival and showed us the campsite, bathroom , walking paths, etc. They borrowed us a longer extension cord to reach our camper. Lynn and David were both very kind and shared stories about life in the circus with us. We're looking forward to another visit in the future.

Wonderful Nature Escape!!

Lynn’s land was perfect for our week long stay to visit family in Gainesville. The property was so quiet and peaceful. It was far enough from the city that we could see so many stars at night but close enough that it was just a 15-20 minute commute in and out of town. Lynn and David were also incredibly nice when we crossed paths. We will definitely be returning here for our next Gainesville visit. 10/10 would recommend!

We absolutely loved camping on Lynn and Dave’s land. They were both very welcoming and very nice. Lynn gave great directions on how to get to their land since it is a bit secluded down dirt roads. We even heard owls! We would absolutely recommend and would absolutely go back again if we are in the area! And we lovedd winnie!!

A treasure of an experience!

Our family had a really nice time camping at this spot - the hosts were generous, friendly, and accommodating. Highlights include: outdoor shower, proximity to a great bike trail, unique and secluded spot but still close(ish) to Gainesville. This is a safe and wonderful option that I would happily recommend for families, couples, or single people camping in an RV or tent! Thank you, Lynn & David!

Wonderful spot in the woods with a trail to explore, an off leash dog park section, and very clean and inviting environment. The owners were very nice and welcoming. We will be back. It was such a great spot!

Incredible land and setup! We were the first couple to camp under the mini temple wooden structure and it was a very short walk from the bathroom and outside shower (awesome experience, especially with some hot water) but still tucked away in nature. We would wake up to rooster calls and some movement from the cute chickens nearby and it was a very pleasant experience—let alone getting to know the owners, Lynn and David, who were very welcoming and kind. Would love to come back!

The Perfect Camping Scene

I had a wonderful time at the Artists Nature Retreat. This was my second visit, and it was breathtaking, beautiful, peaceful, and relaxing. Lynn and David are exceptional hosts. This gem is tucked away in the woods beneath mature trees. The grounds are well-groomed with artistic accents and some circus memorabilia. A bathroom with a small sink is available. There's a good-sized outdoor shower with hot water. You'll also find an outdoor sink for washing dishes. Having electric and water hookups at your campsite is a true bonus. A fire pit, lighting, and a picnic table complete the perfect camping scene. I enjoyed listening to the variety of birds that visit the property during the day and at night. The roosters are a welcoming sound. Their dog is sweet. Squirrels scurry by. I saw beautiful spiderweb art, too. I had a great time. I plan to visit again. The property is down a dirt road but it is safe to travel with caution. What a beautiful place!!!

We loved camping here! Lynn and David were gracious hosts and their land is beautiful. They are far enough away from the highway that you can’t hear traffic noise, just the birds. But it’s only 20 minutes from town if you need something or just want to see the sights. They have a large fenced area for off-leash play that our dog loved, and a wooded trail for a quiet little walk. We highly recommend this campsite.

Hidden gem!

This little campsite was perfect! So many trees and foliage so it was much cooler in this Florida sun. A dog park and a beautiful walking trail next to a bird sanctuary and even cows made the trip extra special. It was awesome to find a nice quiet place to stay. We will definitely be back again for another stay.

My experience on this property was really fantastic. I was looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of a much bigger city and Lynn and David’s place was absolutely perfect. I felt incredibly safe and was certainly delighted by the hosts’ thoughtfulness and also the beautiful piece of property I got to stay on. I especially appreciated the path around their little farm. I hope to be a return guest one day.

Lynn and David are the best! Their property is so cool and they are the coolest people. There are a lot of different camping spots around the property with power and water. In the barn there is a bathroom with a flushing toilet, a dish washing sink and a fabulous outdoor shower. Camp under beautiful trees and enjoy the sound of bird song (and roosters crowing!) Maybe you’ll catch some tree climbers high up in the live oaks. Great location! Gainesville is about 30 minutes away and all the springs are within an hour drive. Highly recommend!

Loved this place!

This was my first experience with camping at a hipcamp location but it definitely won't be my last! I loved this camping location and the owners were very nice and accommodating. The bathroom and outdoor shower were clean and convenient and unlike state campgrounds and RV parks, my campsite was very private. My site had both electricity and water and my only neighbors were some cute chickens. The location was very convenient to many popular area activities. I will definitely stay here again when returning to the area.

Lynn and David's spot was a magical sweet retreat. We stayed there for 4 nights, through a storm and they were nothing but accommodating. Wonderful place to lay your head with interesting and attentive hosts! Would stay here a million times over.

Lynn and her husband were lovely hosts. Very friendly, helpful, and flexible. The property is charming and the shower is perfectly hot. There is a rooster there so if you’re a light sleeper don’t sleep next to the coop. Would recommend though otherwise

An exceptional spot!

Our very first HipCamp experience was at the Artists Nature Retreat. We were just thrilled with everything about it! The land was quintessential old rural Florida with a lovely trail surrounded by old Oak trees and birdsong. Lynn and David were exceptionally kind and attentive, the bathroom facilities were charming, and our site was quite private. We plan to visit again soon to continue our exploration of the Gainesville area.
