We have four lovely Glamping sites at Sugarloaf Ridge State Park and 25 miles of hiking trails, nestled in the glorious chaparral of the Mayacama Mountain Range and Sonoma Hills, deep in the heart of wine country. The cost is $150 per night on weekends (Fri and Sat) and $125 per night on weekdays (Sun-Thurs). There is a 2-night minimum stay required between Memorial Day and Labor Day. In our family-friendly campground, our tents are 16-Foot Canvas and come with one queen-size bed, two futon lounge chairs (May be converted to twin beds), rugs, tables, lighting, and complementary firewood the first night. At no additional cost, we can add up to two twin beds to each tent upon request to sleep up to 6 people. 8 people max allowed at the campsite. The glamping sites include a picnic table, fire ring, outdoor seating, and room for additional tents if desired. All sites are easy walking distance to flush toilets and a bathhouse, with large, clean, coin operated hot shower rooms. There is no cell service in the park, but free WiFi is available at the Visitor Center. PLEASE NOTE that Bedding (sheets, pillows, blankets) IS NOT included in a standard rental, but is available as an add-on. Guests are encouraged to bring their own bedding whenever possible. If no bedding is added, we will assume a one-queen setup with mattress covers only. We kindly ask guests to provide at least 48-hour notice if bedding will be required. We will always try to accommodate last-minute requests, but we cannot guarantee this. PETS and SMOKING ARE NOT ALLOWED INSIDE our glamping tents! This is strictly enforced, and you WILL be charged a $150 cleaning fee for any violation of this policy. Parking: Your reservation includes parking for one vehicle. There is an additional $10 per night per vehicle charge for more than one vehicle, which you can pay for at the Visitor's Center upon check-in. Please note that a $25 setup/cleaning fee is charged per reservation, plus a booking fee. Since 2012, operation of Sugarloaf Ridge State Park has been spearheaded by the Sonoma Ecology Center. Operating under AB42, the SEC efforts have resulted in a revitalized park that engages with all of our community and welcomes visitors from all over the country and the world.

Welcome to Wise Oak Farm, a unique tiny house compound on 5 acres located between Santa Rosa and Sebastopol. The stay area consists of four buildings, the main one being a super cozy tiny house built on a 16' trailer, filled with custom woodwork and unique details. It sleeps up to four and has a kitchen (sink, microwave/oven, mini fridge, and propane stove) and small dining area. Immediately adjacent is a luxury "outhouse" with full sized hot shower and a composting toilet. There is an additional converted farm shed with a pull out couch and TV to relax comfortably indoors (the "rec room"). The outdoor area consists of a breakfast patio and large barn with couches and dining table. We are just starting to develop the property as a working farm. Currently we have a dozen chickens, 30+ fruit trees, and cows pasturing in the main field. The location is fantastic for exploring the area. In the middle of wine country, it's only a thirty minute drive to the coast or to the redwoods, and one hour from San Francisco. Plus easy access to the bike path leading to both Santa Rosa and Sebastopol. Weather issues: The tiny house has heating but no AC, which is not normally an issue unless daytime temperatures are in the mid 90s or higher. Summer nighttime temps are usually in the 50s and the space cools rapidly with windows open. The rec room has both heating and AC, which can be slept in in the case of extreme temperatures. In the winter, heavy rainfall can make the stay unpleasant as you need to move outside frequently between buildings.

Welcome to our family land! As an educator, I run the camp during summers primarily. As a proudly affordable option in Calistoga, all camps are set up to be user ready and campers are responsible for leaving the sites cleaned up and “better” than you found it. If this sounds good, read on! We offer rustic nature, space for tents and smaller RVs, and two levels of cabin camping just 10 minutes outside of our hometown, Calistoga. Our land is beautiful with amazing views and lots of wildlife - which comes with your fair share of roughing it. All sites have their own compost toilet and handwashing station. For glamping experience, CORAL CABIN guests have step up access to hot shower at the Hilltop “Cafe,” which also has a grill, sink, power outlets and Wi-Fi, coffee maker, microwave and toaster, and bathtubs for an extra charge. We currently try to rent one site at a time, so all sites have private access to amenities at the Hilltop Cafe. *Coral Cabin also has the largest, flattest spot for an RV, with great views and cabin access if you wanted. This cabin is our premier ‘roughing it’ experience complete with electricity, WI-FI, TV with Roku, and an AC unit. *Married Manzanitas campsite or cabin rental is high clearance or walk-in only (no RV access) and has an ambient temperature shower at their site fed by a hose. (Hose may need to be turned on at hilltop.) Guests can also use hot shower at the hilltop. If you choose to rent this cabin, this is our really roughing it experience with no Wi-Fi or electricity, just walls, high ceiling, floor, door and bed (comfy futon). It is very peaceful. Camp has a propane fire pit and camp stove available, and table/chair seating areas. *Shaded Oak is furthest from hilltop but can accommodate small trailers (up to 15 feet…), also great sunsets and a rough trail down to our ‘fern gully’ area. Lovely site with relatively easy access to the driveway. Shower and sink access at the hilltop! …has propane fire pit, table and chairs, and water for handwashing. All sites: Pack your trash (just to the trashbin at the bottom of hill)! Add mulch to the toilets! Leave it better! We are proud to be an affordable option in Calistoga and If you can clean up after yourself (to avoid cleaning fee), we would be happy to host you!

You can enjoy watching the birds, turkeys and deer that meander through the meadow, and feel free to roam around the property taking in the fresh outdoor air! We are conveniently located off of US 101, therefore there may be some freeway noise, during commute hours especially. It has become like white noise to me, but it is only fair to mention it. We offer full hookups which consists of 50 amp & 110 volt electrical outlets, potable water, sewage dump. We also have one pigtail available (with a refundable deposit) if needed to convert 50 amp to 30 amp. We also have one place in the middle of our big vineyards with a 30 amp and water only. No sewer. Our sites are located one mile from Healdsburg plaza, the heart of Sonoma County Wine Country. Our town offers amazing wineries, fantastic restaurants, and quaint shops. It is an excellent place for wine lovers. There is a pre-prohibition winery right across the road called Foppiano. There are many other fabulous wineries are nearby. Ask the host for discount passes or complimentary tasting cards for some of the local wineries. We are in an excellent location for outdoor adventurers. There are plenty of hiking trails near by as well as bike rental shops for those who enjoy trekking, and even a couple of rafting places right here on the Russian River. The Meadow Grove is a wild and natural pasture with campsites located near the historic Narrow Gauge Railroad bed on a family owned working ranch in coastal Northern California. The camp sites are nestled in a pasture and grove of mixed Eucalyptus, willow and cypress trees. The sites are perfect for tents or camper vans, or small trailers. [When we open in the spring, the grass can be 'slippery' and it is recommended you have 4WD. Around mid-June it is dried out enough for 2WD access to all sites]. Not suitable for RVs It is also, managed and operated by a single mother. Please keep this in mind. Notes about the campsites are: They each come with a picnic table. The grounds are a working ranch, so there is variations of the soil- some lumps and bumps and general natural state of a pasture v. a groomed lawn. Site #1, #2, #3, and #4 have the most level areas for parking and tent-ing. Up until mid-June, we recommend #1 for 2WD access. Campervans that do not have 4WD may have trouble accessing other sites. Please remember this when you book! *Campers who "change sites" without written approval by the host will be charged double!* There is a composting camp toilet, we do not have running water at the campground. The ranch itself is 300 acres of rolling hills pasture, with hilltop views of the Estero Americano valley. The Meadow Grove is home to many varieties of raptors and other birds-providing excellent bird watching. Seasonally there are blackberries to fill your containers, and some hiking. We are mere minutes from the quaint towns of Valley Ford, Tomales, and Dillon Beach, and a short drive from Bodega, Bodega Bay or Marshall, Pt. Reyes Station and Inverness. Nearby attractions include: Sonoma Coast beaches, Pt. Reyes National Seashore, coastal hiking trails, local farm-to-table eateries. Inland attractions include: redwoods, wine tasting, Russian River activities and so much more. The ranch borders Hwy 1, so there is some degree of road noise. Traffic usually dies down mid afternoon, and isn't too much of a disturbance. Virtually all traffic on our stretch of road is daytime traffic. There can be however, some heavy weekend traffic during the day with car clubs and motorcycle riders enjoying the coastal highway. *The Friendly Gray Cat's name is Boots!*

The Meadow Grove is a wild and natural pasture with campsites located near the historic Narrow Gauge Railroad bed on a family owned working ranch in coastal Northern California. The camp sites are nestled in a pasture and grove of mixed Eucalyptus, willow and cypress trees. The sites are perfect for tents or camper vans, or small trailers. [When we open in the spring, the grass can be 'slippery' and it is recommended you have 4WD. Around mid-June it is dried out enough for 2WD access to all sites]. Not suitable for RVs It is also, managed and operated by a single mother. Please keep this in mind. Notes about the campsites are: They each come with a picnic table. The grounds are a working ranch, so there is variations of the soil- some lumps and bumps and general natural state of a pasture v. a groomed lawn. Site #1, #2, #3, and #4 have the most level areas for parking and tent-ing. Up until mid-June, we recommend #1 for 2WD access. Campervans that do not have 4WD may have trouble accessing other sites. Please remember this when you book! *Campers who "change sites" without written approval by the host will be charged double!* There is a composting camp toilet, we do not have running water at the campground. The ranch itself is 300 acres of rolling hills pasture, with hilltop views of the Estero Americano valley. The Meadow Grove is home to many varieties of raptors and other birds-providing excellent bird watching. Seasonally there are blackberries to fill your containers, and some hiking. We are mere minutes from the quaint towns of Valley Ford, Tomales, and Dillon Beach, and a short drive from Bodega, Bodega Bay or Marshall, Pt. Reyes Station and Inverness. Nearby attractions include: Sonoma Coast beaches, Pt. Reyes National Seashore, coastal hiking trails, local farm-to-table eateries. Inland attractions include: redwoods, wine tasting, Russian River activities and so much more. The ranch borders Hwy 1, so there is some degree of road noise. Traffic usually dies down mid afternoon, and isn't too much of a disturbance. Virtually all traffic on our stretch of road is daytime traffic. Weekend Trip to Calistoga Dreaming
Stayed there with our 23' Airstream for a quick weekend trip. Site is great with power and water and it's perched on a hill over Calistoga - about a 5 minute drive to town. Peter came out and gave us a quick tour of the site and a heads up on some of the local things going on in town for the weekend which were both appreciated. If it's your first trip and you are towing, there are parts of the road where you might say, "I hope those goes to the right spot," or "I really hope I fit..." - but all was good for my sized rig. You need to back in, but there is a loop on the site to get you turned back around for leaving. We are definitely keeping it the list of places to stay when we want to spend the weekend in Napa.

Great spot for enjoying Healdsburg, wine country, and the surrounding area. It’s hard to find places to park so close to town, we’re so happy to have discovered this one. It’s level on gravel, has a picnic table and a nice view of a little vineyard. Best of all - full hookups. Lorri is kind and welcoming, making sure we were settled in and offering wine tasting coupons. Looking forward to our next stay!

Our family had a beautiful time at Sheep Camp! Debra was a wonderful host and easy to communicate with before and throughout our stay. The kids loved the bunk beds, and we all enjoyed the outdoor dining area with its cozy lights. The farm-fresh eggs were delicious, and it was so fun to watch the chickens running around and the emus up close. It was foggy during our visit, but that only added to the magic of staying at the farm. We’d definitely love to come back!

Directions were excellent and contact/communication were great. The spot is clearly marked and conveniently had water, power and a trash bin for use. I had an issue with the power/extension cord initially. Let the host know and I believe it was fixed later at night. It wasn’t a huge issue as my solar battery had enough power for making coffee and using microwave in the morning. My heater worked off regular battery. The location is convenient to get to downtown, which I did. It was all lit up for the Plaza lighting that evening. So fun!

The land itself is gorgeous. A 5 acre plot with tons of space to hang, and dare I say play, in. Rife with redwoods, gazebos, relaxing Buddhist mantras, an adult playground, and more stars than the eye can see. There were tons of little details that showed just how much Miss J truly cares for this space. Last but not least, the hosts themselves were incredibly kind and approachable. Would definitely come back here!

We loved our glamping experience at Sugarloaf SP! The tent was spacious and cozy with comfortable beds and plenty of places to sit and hang out. We rented the heater which was much appreciated when the temp dropped and some rained moved in. We appreciated our first bundle of firewood. All of the staff was very friendly and quick to help out if we needed something. They also keep the bathrooms super clean and well stocked and a short walk from any site. The center of the campground being a beautiful meadow with lots of wildlife at night and clear skies show a perfect view of the starry night. We would definitely stay again.

The bathroom was so beautifully decorated with ornate paintings, little treasures, and the stained glass window was intricately stunning. The hot tub was a bonus and it was extremely close to the town of Petaluma and hiking trails. You definitely should stay here for a romantic getaway!

After a week in the bustle of Carmel and Carmel Valley we needed a quiet place to stay going north. A three plus hour drive to the ranch was enough. Having a perfect place to camp by ourselves and not having to deal with anyone was ideal. A few cows came up the fence and checked us out. The night was dark and very quiet and being treated as a capable adults and taking care of ourselves was ideal. Will definitely stay there again.

About

Situated in the Valley of the Moon, on the edge of Santa Rosa, this 5,500-acre state park offers over 40 miles of trails plus seemingly endless fields, a man-made lake, and a pretty marsh. Trione-Annandel also provides a habitat for all sorts of creatures, from aquatic birds to rare California red-legged frogs. Hiking options abound, with a wide variety of routes that range from easy to challenging, and many of the trails are open to mountain bikes and horses. Anglers are welcome to fish for bluegill and largemouth bass at the lake, provided they obtain licenses in advance.

When to go

Trione-Annadel State Park is open daily from sunrise to sunset all year round. The weather is at its most pleasant from May through October, when the temperatures are warm and the chance of rain is low. September and October are ideal if you want to be in the area for the annual wine harvest, and the weather this time of year is ideal for hiking, when high temperatures rarely exceed the upper 70s.

Know before you go

  • You can pick up snacks and supplies in the nearby city of Santa Rosa, just west of the park.
  • You can fill your water bottle at the visitor center or at the main parking lot. Wheelchair-accessible features include two picnic areas and a portable restroom.
  • Dogs (on leashes) are allowed in developed areas, but are not allowed on trails or in the backcountry.
  • Camping is not allowed at Trione-Annadel State Park. If you're looking to spend the night in the area, look into booking a site at Sugarloaf Ridge State Park, just up the road.
