Camping is provided by and in support of the Blueberry Hill Outdoor Center, a 501 3C non-profit company. Located in the heart of the Green Mountain National Forest, the Outdoor Center provides access to the Blueberry Hill network of trails, the Vermont Long Trail, The Catamount Trail, and the Moosalamoo National Forest Trails.
All campsites are located at the edge of the field behind the Outdoor Center. We have hot/cold outdoor showers as well as restrooms in the Outdoor Center. For more information, visit our website at blueberryhilltrails dot com.
While there is an internet connection near the buildings, it may not be available at your site. Cell service is limited at best. You can drive your car right up to your site. Sites are a good distance apart. Site 1 and the Bed in the Shed are the most private. Site two is quite open and supports trailers.
For your campfire, you can forage for wood or request "bundles" (about a dozen hunks of wood) by the morning of your arrival, and we'll have it delivered to your site. Please note, wood from outside Vermont is not permitted.
Step outside your tent and you'll find a wealth of hiking, biking, and running trails. As stewards of these trails, your camping fees help support the efforts of this non-profit comany. Nearby, you can enjoy swimming, kayaking, and canoeing. Trail maps are provided upon arrival, and you can also view them online on our webpage at Blueberry Hill Outdoor Center.
The Outdoor Center offers snacks and cold drinks for purchase, including our inn-made chocolate chip cookies, chips, and cold drinks. Also available on site, at the Inn across the road on mornings we are serving, may be a full breakfast, pastries, packed lunch, and coffee. (Please enquire in advance or night before if any inn items are available. ) Don't miss our Pizza Nights at the inn. More info on the Outdoor Center webpage. Established in 2020 the Marina provides seasonal and overnight slips and moorings to boaters, fisherman, and lake-goers, three camp sites, and an on-site cafe.

The marina is set on 33 acres along Lake Champlain and hosts ~4150 feet of lake-frontage, it is accessible via car, boat, or via the adjacent Amtrak rail line.
Prior to becoming a marina in 1989, the property was home to a very large Iron Foundry, rail yard, and barge-loading operation known as Cedar Point. Cedar point, part of the larger Witherbee-Sherman Mining Company, operated in the late 19th and early 20th centuries smelting iron ore to be shipped throughout the world via the Lake Champlain Canal and Hudson River, and is credited with providing iron to some of America's leading projects at the time. Some remains of the sites industrious past can be observed throughout the property.

There are several miles of maintained hiking trails meandering throughout the forest, ranging from an easy walk, to hilly and somewhat challenging. Many varieties of tent locations or places to park an RV, pop up, or car. This is considered a "Primitive camp site". There is no shower, toilet or electric available at this time, but well water can be had from our residence, via a hose spigot on the side of our home. This is our 3rd year of hosting, and due to the overwhelming popularity of having an abundance of privacy, we will continue to be only hosting one party at a time. Our property, Windswept Acres, has been a favorite destination for literally generations of visitors, whether staying in a room in the farmhouse, a bunk in the barn, or "glamping" in our Sugar House.
One of those decades-long regulars asked several years ago whether they could locate their RV next to the road on a knoll overlooking our upper pond, and we told them "sure". They own a building company, and were good enough to bring a crew up to prepare the site. They laid pipes to one of our spring-fed wells for water, conduit for both electricity and phone, dug a dry well for grey-water, and moved onto the site for several years.
After then they chose to move to a traditional structure further up the hill, and left behind a fully-equipped spot perfect for campers and RVs that we have offered to visiting family and guests!
Easily accessible from a dirt road, your shaded site overlooks an acre pond. You are surrounded by lawns, open fields and hills with a small barn across the road from you. The pastures support horses, cattle, sheep and chickens
in your neighborhood. The ponds are both great for fishing, and the large one for swimming and canoeing as well. There are trails through the woods and logging roads to be explored on foot or bike. A walk up to the top of the hill affords near-360-degree views.
[Note for RV/trailer users: We are at the top of a 1.7 mile hill, of which more than a mile is dirt and the last half die or so is steep. We do NOT recommend pulling anything up this hill
with front wheel drive vehicles, especially in wet conditions. If there is any question, be sure to message us for more info.]
[Note for GPS-reliers: some GPS devices try to send people up the back side of the hill, which is not an adequate road for any RV or even some cars. Your route should take you to Beacon Hill Road via VT route 110. it should NOT take you to Beacon Hill Road via Brook Road!]

The camp sites are private from each other with a large common area at the top of the hill with a fire pit, lean-to shelter, outhouse complex with water for hand washing (seasonally available) and sweeping views of the Green Mountains.
There are trails for hiking and mountain biking (no dirt bikes or ATV's) all over the farm and a beautiful brook in a sheltered mountain valley. Just a 5 minute drive to the bottom of the hill is the first branch of White River; a beautiful clean river for swimming and fishing crossed by multiple covered bridges that lead to the farm.

A beautiful well maintained campsite. Kathy and Tim were very friendly and helpful. The eggs they gave us on arrival were delicious and there was plenty of firewood for us to burn on the cold October nights. Everything was immaculate and clean, especially the out house with some luxury touches. All the extra details show how much they care about their guests camping experience. The property was fun to explore as well as visiting all the animals on the farm. Easy to explore the area from their place, loved the small town general stores and local creameries. Look forward to visiting in warmer weather.

Tip-top spot with breathtaking views in a great location, 45 minutes from Burlington and 45m-1.5h from the interior (Waterbury, Killington, Woodstock, Montpelier, Stowe), right in the heart of the Green Mountains. Melinda and Dave were very responsive to our messages and just great hosts. They maintain a beautiful, flat site with a lot of privacy, a stocked and cleaned outhouse, and complementary firewood. What’s not to love? This was our first trip with our rig up to Vermont and it’s definitely gonna be part of a regular rotation. Many thanks to these great people for letting us stay at their property! This is what HipCamp is all about.

What an amazing welcoming space. The hosts are friendly and helpful. The community fire pit is an amazing experience. Great for stargazing.

We had a wonderful stay at the farm. Miken and Dave were wonderful hosts and ensured that we were comfortable on a chilly October night. We got a tour of the farm and were able to milk one of their goats. A truly special place with amazing hosts.

We loved our stay at Caitrin and Hardy's Trailhouse campground. It had everything you needed, and nothing you didn't! It was an ideal hub to explore Slate Valley Trails and return home to relax and unwind. Small touches, relaxed and welcoming vibe, beautiful setting and fun trails all contribute to a perfect stay.
