Frank was a great and generous host! Very laid back and was quick to share a fire and a meal and some fantastic pickled veggies. Definitely coming back!

Frank has a great place to camp, has a great shower and electricity. He even has a great dog that is very friendly. He is one of the most accommodating men ive ever met !
It has been my pleasure to meet Frank and to spend a week at his awesome Hip Campground at Meehan Meadows in Bristol, Vermont. I highly recommend that you camp at Frank's Hip Campground.

Full disclosure, after arriving at the property we did not stay here. We approached the property and were greated by very concerning signage on the gate. "No Trespassing ", "Be Aware of Dog" and "Are you bulletproof or just stupid". We stopped to see if the person standing in the door of the house would greet us before entering the property. No one did. As we had no cell service to contact the host to make certain we were at the correct location we left. I'm 99.9% certain we were at the correct location but the signage and the fact that someone saw us but didn't greet us was, we believe, a prudent decision. Who welcomes people to camp on their property with signs like that? As residents in a rural community we take threats of protecting property with a firearm seriously. I wish I'd had the presence of mind to take a photo but we were so disturbed that we left quickly. Also, the host emailed me to point out where the driveway was but not to ask why we never checked in. Odd.

Ok stopover. Snagged this site for the electric and water. Arrived in the rain, he was friendly, wanted to keep talking but I was tired and ready to get set up. The power plug was on a pole that looked like it was wired up by a 2 year old and covered by a piece of plastic. I had to argue with him over the water because he didn't want to have to turn on his well pump. Pictures of the place are out dated.... he is adding more cabins to his place... good for him.

Frank's land was perfect for myself and a couple of friends who were biking around Vermont. He was very helpful and friendly and made sure we had everything we needed, and the land was peaceful and scenic. Would love to come back and camp here again!

Frank was very attentive to our needs, very friendly but not overbearing but made sure we had everything we needed! Beautiful grounds, did not feel too crowded even with everyone staying for the eclipse

Frank is the most generous host! We came for the solar eclipse and it was a lot of fun. The toilet is not for the faint of heart but it was great experience overall.

I had a great stay at Frank’s. Frank’s friendly and hospitable nature was off putting at first, as where I’m from not many people are as kind and open as he is. It was refreshing to have someone like that around. Though listed as a private area getting to know Frank and talk with him is essential, but the area is fairly secluded from other neighbors in the woods. Frank is a great conversationist with some good stories it was a joy to talk with him. We would have meals together and Frank chipped in to help by preparing and cooking food. In his words “The host with the most” and I agree. On the property there are fire pits and flat areas for tents. Even though the property was surrounded by a marshy area the ground was dry. My tent was mismatched so the rain tarp didn’t fully cover the tent so Frank let us use a portable canopy to help keep the tent dry, it worked very well. Whenever I’m in Vermont again I happily stay there again. (If you are reading the Frank, thank you for a great stay and hope good things head your way)

Great spot on Frank’s land with superb outside shower! Frank was a superb host and nothing was too much trouble. We would definitely stay here again. Lovely quiet spot.

Franks place is great but the best part is Frank himself! Frank is such a nice, helpful and accommodating person. We feel like we not only had a great experience but also made a new friend. We would definitely camp there again and recommend it to other campers.

Overall, I had a good stay. Frank is a good hearted guy and very accommodating. It comes down to your expectations...if you are looking for the privacy of secluded campsite, this is not your place. However, if you understand what a hostel is like, and you are comfortable interacting with Frank and any other guests who may be there, then you will find it to be a charming experience. I will keep this place in mind for future trips and encourage others to give it a try! The area is amazingly beautiful, and again, Frank is a great host.

Great spot. I made a last-minute reservation, Frank informed me that he had friends staying but he’d find me a spot and I was welcome to join them around the fire. They even graciously shared their food.

Overall we had a good experience. Our only downside was there wasn't a 30 amp hookup for our RV. Frank was very helpful and loaded us up with numerous fruits and vegetables (fresh) from his garden.

Frank and his friends are the friendliest of people. Shared food, drinks, and more with us. Wish we had thought to bring stuff to share back, we just weren't expecting it!
Frank kindly gave us the back of the field to setup our taj mahal of a 9-person tent, we felt like we had quite a bit of privacy. It was a quiet, peaceful sleep, after spending the evening around the campfire with him and his friends, and one other hipcamper. The outhouse and showers were perfect for what we needed and for what outdoor camping usually entails...
Using google maps, it was easy finding the location. We got up early and reached the camel's hump burrows trail head in about 30 minutes.

The outdoor shower was an awesome bonus. We slept like logs with no light pollution & only the sounds of wildlife!

Overall we had a good time at Frank’s. The property is remote and there is little cell phone service. Unless you set up in the back corner of the yard, there’s not a lot of privacy. The fire pit and grassy camping area is right next to the house. The outdoor hot water shower is a nice touch, but the water source must be turned on by Frank prior to use. It is essentially a wooden structure attached to the side of the house. We ended up not using it. Frank supplied extra firewood, and even set up a fire for us - all we had to do was light it!

Frank was so hospitable and his land is so cute! He has a gorgeous pond and lovely gardens. The amenities are nice (toilet and a shower!) and it's in a very quiet and secluded lot of land. Frank even set up a fire pit complete with wood, kindling, and wax for when we arrived after a night out. There's also a lovely creek across the street which leads you down a beautiful path into the cornfields and its just gorgeous. Perfect if you're looking to escape the city and technology and just enjoy nature.

We loved camping on Franks land! He is an exceptional host and was great at helping us with our needs! Hot shower, outhouse and beautiful trees for gazing at! The night sky was beautiful with stars, sounds of the woods, owls and more! Frank even let us try some of the veggies from his garden and had the best pickled beets around!We couldn’t be more happy with our stay!!! Our 3 kids, husband and I loved it!
