The 80-acre property is carved out of a Norway pine plantation. Sites are approximately 10,000 square ft. in size with about 50 ft. of trees between each site for semi-privacy. We have tried to maintain a balance of nature while making the sites as RV friendly as possible. Although the property is located in the country, it is located along a state highway for easy access and there are three towns and many amenities and recreational venues within 15 minutes drive. Currently no hook-ups, but there is a yard hydrant and dump station. There are also portable restrooms on site.

With easy access to a public launch and within a half mile of the Mississippi River it is a perfect spot for exploring some of Minnesota's greatest waterways, lakes and forests. Property backs up to privately owned conservation land. Site is mostly primitive with electricity available. Outhouse bathroom. Access to property is through a unpaved wrap around driveway. This is northern Minnesota in the Forest on a River so please be prepared for bugs and bring the appropriate clothing and bug spray/netting etc. We recommend Deep Woods with Deet! Minutes away from access to Cuyuna trails, Crosby, Ironton and Emily, as well as nearby Nisswa and Crosslake. This central location offers access to any and all amenities. After a day on the trails, in town, or on the water, an evening overlooking the river is a perfect way to end the day. Wind down, relax and enjoy the trees, water and nature surrounding you. Green Island is an unexpected pine forest located actually inside a small town in northcentral Minnesota. The camping area is remarkably private and surrounds a small pond. It is primitive with minimal amenities beyond patio furnature and hand pumps for water. By local codes, it can host only truly small adventure camper vehicles that are self-contained. The campground is a large semi-shaded space yet we limit to four vehicles. We are serious environmentalists and we offer this opportunity for true nature lovers as singles or couples, who totally take care of themselves, leave absolutely no trace, and are solid environmental stewards. In other words, its no place for a party. Separate from the campground there are: apple orchards, outdoor sculptures, wildlife, a meditation kuti, and perfect spaces for forest therapy. Yet unbelieveably, you can walk to a Pizza Hut or Walmart in 5 minutes. This is an excellent staging point for outdoors folks on their way to camp or canoe the forests and lakes of northern Minnesota.

Wadena also features fantastic restaurants including a superb German brewery with the best wood fire pizzas in the state, with many other unique places to check out! Nearest lake is about a 15 minute drive. There are currently 2 well water spouts to hook up to. Working on 240, but can only offer 120 by extension cord at this time. Unless you have a 20’ plus cord and don’t mind parking close to the garage. WiFi available near the house. Or get away from all the static in field of dreams. This ranch was established in 1907 and the outbuildings still need work, as well as public bathrooms which we can only offer by Porta potty for $100/day which is what we are charged. This is our first year offering camping to the public, so bear with us and help support a good cause so we can continue to add amenities here. There’s endless miles of absolutely beautiful motorcycle & trail riding out here! Funds help us continue to raise awareness to addiction & suicide and bring support to those who have been affected by either.

Absolutely a gem of a place! Beautiful property, super well maintained. Great location, 10 minutes from lakefront dining, beach, and the dog park is amazing. Great group of campers from solos to families. Really nice!

Very nice and quiet camp ground! Wise lake is an excellent take to kayak around as there is very little boat activity and nice sandy beach area to lay out! Highly recommend!

Popular spot to back in trailer/camper…semi-secluded, view of the barn, cozy and content.

I stayed for a quick overnight trip. David was kind and welcoming. He accommodated my car camping for the evening and I felt safe and secure in his property with the other campers. Very cool barn with lots to do if you are there for a couple of days!

We had a nice shady spot to park our van, with a lovely area to enjoy sitting outside. The area is close to mountain biking and hiking to see trolls! We would haves loved to have spent another night to enjoy playing cards in the renovated barn. You couldn’t ask for nicer hosts.

Came out here with the family for a weekend and had an amazing time. The property has tons of open space for kids to run around and David was incredible — super welcoming and always finding new activities to keep the kids entertained. That hospitality made the whole trip. The barn is a really cool hangout spot with a lot of character, and the fire pit was the highlight of the evenings. We ended up meeting other campers there and had a great night swapping stories — the kind of thing you just can't get at a normal campground. Location is perfect too. Detroit Mountain is right next door for mountain biking (and apparently troll hunting, which was a hit with the kids), and downtown Detroit Lakes is just a short drive away when you need it. Would definitely come back.

Nice and peaceful... big campsites. Primative sites.. does have a porta potty, dump station, portable water, picnic table, fire ring and firewood available. Sites are beautiful among the pines. Allen met us there and escorted us to our site. Very great communication! Would highly recommend. We stayed on site 104. Thanks Allen for providing a great place to camp.

What a great place to just get lost in the woods! Im new to Scamp camping and Allen was so patient with me and my son. He took time to make sure we had everything we needed and checked on us while there a couple of times. Very helpful and kind. Great wooded area. Nice solar lit portal potties, picnic bench, tons of firewood and lots of quiet! Definitely stop if going by or want to get away. Level areas and big paths to drive down to the spots. Water, and dump if you want. Perfect. Thank you Allen! 😃

Beautiful spot with a huge barn you can relax in the game room, very unique! David and Logan were great hosts, enjoyed the visit, the Info and the apple crisp. Don't forget to go see the Dambo Trolls, 2 are very close.

This was a perfect location to check out the troll hunt. Dave was friendly and helpful. The barn and it's inside it a great addition to the space. It was a cold night so we watched a movie in the barn! We would highly recommend this place.
