The campground is a tighter space but the 100 ft beach has plenty of room to spread out. There is a communal firepit on the beach, along with two portable fire rings available on a first-come, first-served basis. Adding to the welcoming atmosphere, are two friendly dogs – Frank, a Goldendoodle, and his sister/sidekick, Lucy, a Mini Goldendoodle. They roam freely on part of our property with the help of an invisible fence. Feel free to shoo them away, or hush them if they bother you or if any other rogue neighborhood dog wanders over. When we camp, we value privacy, and we'll ensure the same for you. Upon arrival, please head directly to your campsite or cabin. We can communicate through messaging to assist you with anything you need. Guests will need to be self contained, take waste with them and leave no trace. The Loo (pit toilet): She works hard for the money! With lots of campers and hot weather, The Loo can get a little...fragrant. We have it regularly serviced and cleaned, but during peak heat and heavy use, odors can happen. Nature gonna nature. If you're sensitive to smells please feel free to bring your own portable loo setup! Note: Site does not have an assigned address but the driveway is next to our cabin on the North side of the Snake River in Pine City MN, NOT Rock Creek MN. The site is a vacant lot and has the better river view and experience as its a small peninsula that juts out to the river with rapids. There is a swimming area right next to the campsite or feel free to jump into the rapids if you want a rush. There is fishing right there as well, mostly large and small mouth bass. There is parking off the road and a short walk to the campsite, just follow the sounds of the river. Small wagons are provided to help with getting gear down to the river tent site. There is a composting toilet, it uses a "separator" where #1 goes back to the earth (as it is sterile and liquid) and #2 goes into a bucket and is covered with wood chips. There is also a standing urinal for men if desired. If you would prefer to use a pit toilet there is one on the property with directions marked with a sign. It is a farther walk however, about 100 yards from the tent site and on the cabin property near the driveway. If you want something even more convenient, feel free to bring your own. Firewood is available for sale onsite or feel free to clean up dead wood lying along the trail at no cost. The tent site is right next to rapids on the Snake river. If you struggle sleeping to the sound of rushing water, this may not be for you!

Come get away in our grove of balsam pine trees in a rural area with lots of wildlife to see and hear. We have 5 primitive campsites, one for large groups and three for smaller more private camping and one drive in site for camping out of vehicle or tent . We offer un mapped hiking trails onsite and there is plenty of activities to do within 10 to 15  miles from camp. Activities include swimming at local beaches, Nemadji State Forest, General CC Andrews State Forest, ATV riding, lots of great fishing lakes, several rivers for kayaking and canoeing, local restaurants, coffee houses, movie theater, general store, shopping, antiques/craft, grocery, gas, local brewery, agate center, fire museum. The land was purchased by the Sway family in the late 70's from a farmer and has been in the family since. We are one of the 4 current land owners of this property and plan to keep the land in the family as long as we can. Our home was built in 2011 on part of the property. Since living here we have used the land for hiking, gardening, wood harvesting, selling Christmas trees, and now we are excited for our new adventure of opening a small part of our land for camping. Great quiet location, Wildlife and the sound of the country. You will have the only camp site on the property. You can stay in the small camping cabin in comfort with your own bedding, or sleeping bag for the twin bed in the loft, or the futon on the main level. The cabin only has room for two adults unless you bring a camp pad to sleep on the floor, or squeeze in a child, but you have the comforts of a small electric heater, or A/C if needed, a Weber grill, mini fridge, microwave, and Electricity. Quiet former country farm site, with great wildlife viewing options with walking trails. Only 23 miles to DT St. Cloud and 8 Miles to the Walmart in Princeton for food or supplies. If a shower is desired the Kwik Trip in St Cloud, on Hwy 10 has showers. Just a half mile off Hwy 95 and 5 miles from the large Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge, with trails and lots of wildlife. In the Fall expect to see a large amount of wildlife with many migrating birds come out of the refuge to feed. Expect to hear Pheasant's cackle in the AM, and see Sandhill Cranes or Geese fly over the camp site, or sitting in area fields. Enjoy time around a campfire with folding chairs and a picknick table, with plenty of free dry wood in a storage rack. My feeling on how well the heater will work in cold weather is you are probably good until the temp is in the lower teen.

The Hamlet Lake homestead is our 10-acre family home with two unique and private hip-camp sites. We have both lakeshore (in front) and a hobby farm with cows, chickens and goats in our back lawn and woods. The Hamlet Lake Bunkhouse is located to the west of our home in its own secluded parcel next to the lake. The Camp on Hamlet Hill (closed for 2026) is to the north of our home, on a remote flat hill at the top of our property, on a hill over Cedar brook. with 300-acre, (private) Hamlet Lake in front, and the wide portion of the 20-mile Cedar brook in the back. We are a large "homesteading" family, with chickens, ducks, and a garden. The campsite is a private 1/2 acre clearing, surrounded by woods with a firepit, grill, cooking utensils, and an outhouse. (Tents are available for a small additional cost). There is an outdoor water pump below the hill, near which guests can view our fenced-in animals. Guests can also access the waterfront and beach in front, with the use of the swim raft, lily pad, fishing dock, canoe, kayak, and paddle boards included. At nearly 100 feet deep, Hamlet lake also boasts excellent fishing. Our home is located 6 miles from Crosby, with the world-class Cuyuna Lakes 50-mile mountain bike trail system. Crosby is a growing tourist town with many new and unique restaurants, outdoor adventures, and shopping opportunities. The paved bike trail begins 3.5 north of us. Milacs lake is 10 miles to the south.

Enjoy a peaceful escape on our private 3.5-acre lot, perfect for tent camping or RVs. The upper site includes an electric hook-up, outhouse, and a dedicated fire pit for campfires under the stars. Surrounded by woods on either side, it offers a quiet, semi-secluded spot for nature lovers. A short trail (400 feet or a little over a football field) leads through the forest to the Snake River, where you’ll find a second fire pit with chairs, solar lighting, and a private dock that is share with just our cabin and then campsite. If you are tenting, you can tent at the river but do not drive on the trail.. The river is great for fishing, swimming, canoeing, or kayaking, and can accommodate small boats. Multiple public boat landings are located up and down the river for easy drop off and access points. The property lines are outlined in the overview picture. Please do not go to the west of the trail to provide ample space for privacy with our neighbors. The red on the map is the camping area with electricity and outhouse. Our personal log cabin is the blue dot but there is a significant tree line in between. If we are there, we are happy to give you a tour. The blue line is the trail. The white area is our property on the river and available for tent only or to hang out for the day if you choose to camp up top. The purple area is where the goats are busy eating. Come and visit them! While the site does not have running water, you’ll be camping right next to our family cabin, and we’re happy to help with anything you might need. We also have friendly goats on the property that guests are welcome to visit! There’s also plenty to explore nearby. Just minutes away, Braham offers a quirky “hole-in-the-wall” bowling alley and some charming local shops. Head north to Pine City for more options, including restaurants, a larger grocery store, and additional shopping. History buffs will enjoy visiting the Snake River Fur Trading Post, a Minnesota historical site. And if you’re in the mood for a local treat, Sapsucker Farms is a nearby cidery open on weekends, often hosting live music, food trucks, and hiking trails. There are 5 State Parks within an hour drive. Ask your hosts for even more ideas—they’re happy to share local favorites!

Weekend Trip to The Camps at the Vineyards

The A frame was so fun to be in! I loved the concept of opening up the side and having the dogs relax and be able to go in and out when they wanted! The river right next to the site was peaceful, so many birds for bird watching and not too many mosquitoes when we went (although ticks loved our dogs). The owners let us try some of their wine and got to meet the other campers which was super fun and had a lot of laughs! Go meet Carl and his family, they are so wonderful. It’s right next to Rum River State Forest and not too far from Lake Mille Lacs. Great stay! Would come back :)

Weekend Trip to Alpha and Omega Pizza Farm

Kim and everyone at Alpha and Omega were such wonderful hosts! We camped during a pizza farm night which made the experience even more fun. We loved waking up and greeting all the animals (pigs, goats, donkeys, cows and alpacas). Kim’s delivery of fresh baked caramel rolls, coffee and orange juice was icing on the cake. Definitely recommend to families looking for a fun getaway close to the twin cities.

This was a lovely place to camp! It's quiet with only the sounds of happy farm animals as a backdrop to the scenic views of rolling hills and woods. I was met at the drive with a gift bag that included information, map of the farm, names of the animals and delicious homebaked cookies! After a long, tiring drive, this was a welcome treat! The farm is set up for ease of use, includes an outhouse, outdoor shower, gift shop/lounge area and lots of interactions with the animals if you want. The hosts are great, communicate well and quickly. I plan to stay again if I am in the area.

We had such a wonderful stay at this campsite. It was quiet, beautiful, and incredibly peaceful — the perfect place to relax and clear your mind. Being right by the water made it even more calming and enjoyable. My partner and I came here for a few days away, and it gave us the chance to truly unwind and reconnect without the usual distractions. Weekend Trip to Wise Woods on Fool Lake

We really enjoyed car/tent camping, I highly recommend wisewoods on fool lake! We loved waking up close to the lake hearing chirping birds in the morning and the view was relaxing! Kayaks and pedal boat was available to use on site and you can fish right off the dock. We caught a couple smallmouth and largemouth bass and crappies too! Jackie the host was very nice and responsive to my questions and even allowed us to a late checkout free of charge. We definitely would book again! 😃

Site was as described and it looked like it was recently cleaned up from the winter. Enough level space I didnt have to level the camper. If you needed it there would be pleanty of space for a tent or two with the camper there. Had firepit and ample dried wood. Hook up to elecrical without difficulty. Only ran a space heater so low power need. Not the easiest spot to back into. As others said, road was pretty close. Road noise quieted down at night with the reduced trafgic. Super close to bike trails, could easily camp there and hop on the trails saving the park pass cost.

This place is really special. I almost wondered if maybe I’d died and gone to heaven. What a treat to spend some time in this magical place with all the animals and beautiful views. On top of the farm animals, I saw so many deer and birds (sandhill cranes were often hanging out in the field). It’s such a beautiful and peaceful place, and Kim and Brad were great hosts - very welcoming and accommodating. Add the sauna and coffee/homemade caramel rolls - 100% worth the extra treat!

Stayed at Site 4, which had a sleeping cabin. We opted to tent camp since there were clear skies and used the cabin for storage. Had the entire campground completely to ourselves which was lovely! The camp sites are very close together with no tree coverage to really separate sites so I imagine who your camping neighbors are really makes or breaks the experience!! Creek was cool and refreshing for a dip on the hottest part of the day- crawfish and tiny fish aplenty. Plus hearing the creek in the background was so peaceful. Carl brought over some wine on our second night and was a delight to meet! My only warning: TONS of ticks! We spotted many deer and dog ticks just before they got to us but appear to have walked away unscathed.

1 night at Alpha and Omega Pizza Farm

This was a great experience- we wanted to camp but it was too early in the year for full on tent camping. This was a great in between! Bed was comfy and we ended up feeling very warm with the blankets and the wood stove. There are lots of cute animals around, including Kurt the cat, who was one of the friendliest and sweetest cats I’ve ever met. He slept in the tent with us most of the night. We also sauna-ed and enjoyed a Norwegian smorgarboard for breakfast ( delivered straight to our picnic table). We were too early for pizza but hope to return later in the spring!
