Hygge Hus Lakeside Camping Retreat
We have just returned home from Hygge Hus Lakeside Camping Retreat on Mille Lacs Lake, and it was far more enjoyable than we could have ever imagined. The cabin and property are clean, welcoming, and well maintained.
Everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The lake views are spectacular—especially the sunsets, which you really have to see in person to fully appreciate. Whether you’re inside the cabin looking through the big picture window or out on the deck, the views keep your eyes moving continuously - there is so much to take in.
Sarah and Scott are incredibly gracious hosts. Each made us, my wife Kim, and our two Alaskan Huskies, Shadow and Mack, feel as if we were family during our stay. They gave us tips on local attractions to explore. However, we chose to stay on the property to rest and relax while we enjoyed the lake scenery. We had total privacy, but if we needed anything, Sarah was just a quick text away and always responded fast.
Our two Huskies loved it—watching wildlife and napping in the shade. We spent time on the beach, enjoying the ducks and watching many boats on the lake. One night, we had a barbecue on the beach and a campfire in a fire pit later. The stars were incredible—so many more than can be seen in the city.
If you want a peaceful place to unwind and feel welcome, this is it. We are booking a much longer vacation at Hygge Hus for next year. That will be booked tomorrow. Hygge Hus isn’t just a destination—it’s a transformation for life.
