***Campers (tents not included) must back in from Vista Rd (the tar road). Many prefer to walk back and view the site before parking. Enjoy unforgettable sunsets over Lake Mille Lacs, painting the sky with vibrant hues. Step onto the sandy beach from your campsite and surround yourself with the soothing sounds of nature and the lapping of the lake's waves to help you unwind and connect with the outdoors. The campground is a tighter space but the 100 ft beach has plenty of room to spread out. There is a communal firepit on the beach, along with two portable fire rings available on a first-come, first-served basis. Adding to the welcoming atmosphere, are two friendly dogs – Frank, a Goldendoodle, and his sister/sidekick, Lucy, a Mini Goldendoodle. They roam freely on part of our property with the help of an invisible fence. Feel free to shoo them away, or hush them if they bother you or if any other rogue neighborhood dog wanders over. When we camp, we value privacy, and we'll ensure the same for you. Upon arrival, please head directly to your campsite or cabin. We can communicate through messaging to assist you with anything you need. Guests will need to be self contained, take waste with them and leave no trace. The Loo (pit toilet): She works hard for the money! With lots of campers and hot weather, The Loo can get a little...fragrant. We have it regularly serviced and cleaned, but during peak heat and heavy use, odors can happen. Nature gonna nature. If you're sensitive to smells please feel free to bring your own portable loo setup! Quiet hours are from 10:00 pm - 8:00 am please do not disrupt other guests or you may be asked to leave. ***Attention Summer Guests*** ***Swimmer's Itch Prevention*** During the warmer summer months, please be aware of the potential for swimmer's itch in our lake. Please Google Swimmer's Itch Prevention for more information. ***Mayflies and Fish Fly Hatches*** These hatches can vary by date and location. Remember you are in an outdoor space and they are a natural part of the ecosystem. Although they are a nuisance they are harmless to humans and do not bite or sting.

Campsite 3 is on a 30 ft x 12ft gravel pad just steps from the lake and views of the beach and the lake. This is the smallest of our 3 campsite spaces. Due to the trees on either side of this site, there isn't enough space to accommodate for awnings. If you need awning space Campsite 1 or Campsite 2 are large enough to extend camper awnings. This space is perfect for small campers, vehicles or tents. When we camp, we value privacy, and we'll ensure the same for you. Upon arrival, please head directly to your campsite or cabin. Hygge Hus - a cozy lake cabin
We have just returned home from Hygge Hus Lakeside Camping Retreat on Mille Lacs Lake, and it was far more enjoyable than we could have ever imagined. The cabin and property are clean, welcoming, and well maintained. Everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The lake views are spectacular—especially the sunsets, which you really have to see in person to fully appreciate. Whether you’re inside the cabin looking through the big picture window or out on the deck, the views keep your eyes moving continuously - there is so much to take in. Sarah and Scott are incredibly gracious hosts. Each made us, my wife Kim, and our two Alaskan Huskies, Shadow and Mack, feel as if we were family during our stay. They gave us tips on local attractions to explore. However, we chose to stay on the property to rest and relax while we enjoyed the lake scenery. We had total privacy, but if we needed anything, Sarah was just a quick text away and always responded fast. Our two Huskies loved it—watching wildlife and napping in the shade. We spent time on the beach, enjoying the ducks and watching many boats on the lake. One night, we had a barbecue on the beach and a campfire in a fire pit later. The stars were incredible—so many more than can be seen in the city. If you want a peaceful place to unwind and feel welcome, this is it. We are booking a much longer vacation at Hygge Hus for next year. That will be booked tomorrow. Hygge Hus isn’t just a destination—it’s a transformation for life.

This was our 2nd time staying here in the last couple months. It’s an amazing spot right near the lake. The property is very well kept and the owners are very hospitable. My kids and family absolutely love it!

We had an amazing time at your beautiful location. We had the whole camp to ourselves as the other guests there were our adult children. The location was perfect! The cabin is so cute and welcoming! The weather was a bit cool but we stayed nice and comfy with the heater going. And let me tell you! The sunsets are amazing! The hosts were wonderful! Thank you for a wonderful family weekend! We loved our time spent here! And so did the dogs!

The perfect little getaway for a few nights. The cabin had everything we needed for a comfortable break without breaking the bank. It’s perfect if you want to keep things simple and be extra close to the lake! The most glorious sunsets and view of the stars. We brought our outdoor stove and used that by choice but there are great options for cooking inside too. Beach is clean and felt like our own little private strip. Hosts are very responsive.

Beautiful lakeside with necessary amenities. We enjoyed the lakeside bonfire, paddle boarding, and the privacy on the campsite. Although there were other campers, it felt like they were barely there.

Sarah's campsite was the perfect place. Loved the lakeside and the amenities that were provided. The place was private enough for our group of friends. It was the perfect escape for our group of friends. We got to camp by the beachside and enjoyed the bonfire.

This is definitely the best hip camp for family groups to enjoy with the large beach area, the great amenities like kayaking, paddle boarding, dock access and more. We rented the small cabin, and two of the three sites and had the grounds to ourselves. Host’s were amazing and accommodating. Booking individual sites might a bit more communal. But for a family group like the thirteen of us it really couldn’t have been any better. 5 plus stars!!! Thanks Sara & Scott for an outstanding stay! Regards John & Janel

We had such a nice time here! It's beautiful, quiet, and offers so many nice amenities like the kayaks and beach loungers. The property is taken care of very well...even the outhouse is made up nicely! We can't wait to come again sometime

Camping lakeside at its best! We loved our stay, our whole family had a wonderful week. The sandy beach was beautiful and the perfect place to watch the gorgeous sunsets on Lake Mille Lacs. We paddle-boarded right from our site and had bonfires on the beach. The cabin had just the right amount of accommodations and the camping spaces were just the right size. Sarah was very responsive to messages and helpful with all questions. We can't wait to stay again!

We brought our 20’ trailer and it got perfectly. The view was beautiful looking over lake Milacs. The set up was great with tables, kayaks and chairs to catch some sun in the sand. We will definitely be back!

Amazing place to camp out at! The sites are directly across the lawn to the beach. Plenty of communal areas to hang out at. My kids absolutely loved and enjoyed the stay. The host was even nice enough to come out and offer them a water pad to play on. It is a tight squeeze into your site if you have a trailer. I had a 32ft trailer in there and while it fits perfectly, I wouldn’t recommend much larger. There is a general store about 5 minutes away to get anything you forget. Oh and it’s very dog friendly. I’m definitely planning a trip there again. Great times.

Beach Sunsets and Bonfires!

This was such a cute and cozy spot! The cabin itself was SO cozy and relaxing, and we truly appreciated the AC on the 92-degree day! The hosts were great, and being so close to the beach was amazing. We enjoyed watching the sunsets and having a bonfire on the beach itself. It truly felt like something out of a movie. The other sites are quite close, so if you're looking for isolation, this isn't it; however, there is still a good amount of privacy, and the neighbors at the sites were friendly. I would absolutely recommend this stay and hope to come back someday. Thank you. :)

Gorgeous spot on the lake

We stayed with Sarah and Scott for 2 nights in a 15ft travel trailer. Directions were good. You do have to back in from the road but we had no issues and got right in. I suggest walking the road before backing in. The weather was super hot, this is the perfect spot for escaping the heat and enjoying the lake. Our hosts were so friendly and incredibly kind to share their beautiful place. The campsites are close to each other ( we lucked out and had the place to ourselves) but you won’t spend much time at your spot. There is a beautiful clean beach, lots of seating, manicured lawn with plenty of shade. We saw lots of birds there and turtles too. Father Hennepin state park is a short drive away with easy hiking trails. The town of Isle also has 2 convenience stores. There is an outhouse only but Sarah has everything you need in there and it was nice and clean. We did go through a frightening storm, with incredible winds coming off the lake. So if you know it’s going to rain, SECURE everything just in case. We did not and regret that. We had a relaxing and fun weekend and will definitely be back.

We loved this cabin! It was perfect for a family with kids. The weather wasn’t the greatest while we were there, but the beach space was so beautiful and calm. Plenty of space and privacy for a weekend at the beach. The shower and bathroom were very convenient. As well as the coffee machine, fridge, and microwave. Very well put together and homey. We’ll be going back 🧡

There’s nothing bad to say about this place, we loved camping here! The campsites are fairly close together but you still have your own privacy which we loved. Even on memorial weekend, it was very quiet and relaxing. We will definitely be back when it’s warm enough to swim!!

This camp was so beautiful! Lots of beach to sit and relax, and hunt for rocks. We had a clear night, with a sky full of stars. Plenty of privacy. Definitely want to go back next summer.

Cozy cabin with gorgeous view!
Hygge Hus - a cozy lake cabin
Gorgeous location, right on the water with a beautiful, private sandy beach. So convenient having a toilet and shower in the cabin! Not to mention a fridge and microwave. Loved having campfires with that view. We will be back!
