Loved the privacy of the camping sites and access to a gorgeous river just 5 minutes behind the site. Showers, washroom, kitchen and gazebo were outstanding amenities!

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful cabin! It has everything you could possibly need for a comfortable and relaxing getaway. This was truly one of the best trips we took this summer. We had the chance to meet the host, who was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making our stay even more special. Spending the evening around a campfire by the lake was unforgettable—it was peaceful, relaxing, and the perfect way to enjoy nature. If you’re looking for a place to unwind and create wonderful memories, I highly recommend this cabin. It’s definitely worth visiting, and we can’t wait to come back!

Fairy Tale Campground in the Woods

This was our first trip to MN, and our first experience with Hipcamp. It was AWESOME! The campground is small and very secluded, just the kind of quiet retreat we needed. There were other people there, but they were also looking for a relaxing getaway so it was nice and peaceful. The campsite itself is immaculate. Paths are mowed, the facilities are sparkling clean and the path to the river is like entering a fairytale forest. Our only complaint was the weather. We went north to escape Kansas heat and ran into an unexpected Minnesota heatwave on the last couple of days. Amber and her partner are fantastic hosts. We had an issue with the hot water not working and help was on the way in a very short time. She responded to all of my questions promptly and provided extra information to make our stay even more fun. On the last day and night of our stay, when we had the campground to ourselves, it got dangerously hot. Amber graciously let us use the cabin so we and our kids would have a cool place to stay. Had she not done so, we would have had to pack up and leave to find a hotel. I would give her a zillion stars if I could. THANK YOU, Amber, for a great stay.

What an awesome spot! I was only here for one night but I will be back for a longer stay. Very secluded area. Beautiful riverfront views after a short walk through the woods. Bathroom, shower and outdoor kitchen were all very nice. I had the whole property to myself, which was wonderful. Sites are very close to each other. Would be a great place for a whole family or a group of friends.

Perhaps the best kept secret!

Amazing! Small and quaint setting for just 4 groups, and with amenities, service, and comfortable ambiance I never expected. CLEAN shower and bathroom, gas cooking facilities, electric, stocked firepits…yes plural, riverfront overlook with free kayaks. Thank you for hosting the best outdoor camping experience I have come across!!!

Empty-nesters and their old pooch

Hardly rustic. The bed and the accommodations were very comfortable. The pics don’t do it justice. We enjoyed talking with the laid-back, dog-friendly campers nearby. The shared fire ring, kitchen and table were inviting, but we didn’t make time for that. We did however walk down through the woods to the river a couple of times. The surrounding woods and ferns are exactly what we hoped for!

Exceptional hosts, fantastic space!

A quaint spot in a quiet part of Minnesota. You'll find wonderful hosts, a communal bonfire pit, seating for four at a table just next to the fire, a kitchenette, bathroom, and river access. This quiet location is a perfect spot for a family gathering (which we intend to do next year!). Close to Hinckley for a day trip, or take a hike at Banning State Park.

Easy get away from the noise

The cabin was perfect for a quick get away from the cities. We loved the outdoor shower and easy access to the river for paddling or lunching. Everything was clean, easy to use, and as described. We’ve already booked a return trip!

The site is very well kept. The bathroom and shower are updated in knotty pine and new fixtures. The bar and kitchen area would be very fun with a group! I would definitely stay again!

What a great campsite! We camped with our kids and had so much fun. There is a clean bathroom and shower as well as a great kitchen. The fire pit is also a perk. We will definitely be returning and may rent out the whole site with friends! Thank you!!!

This probably the top Hipcamps we have used.The camp area is beautiful..flat and mowed..a diversity of tall trees and paths in and out of them.The amenities,the outdoor kitchen,bathroom and shower are made like little log cabins and spotless.The cabin on site looks awesome but have never stayed in it. The path though the wood to the river is awesome..then you get to the river and again it is up and above..a deck area,chairs and fire ring with wood furnished.2 kayaks too!! Very secluded and peaceful. Thank you Amber

This site is phenomenal! We booked for all of our family and enjoyed the entire space. The kitchen, bathroom, and shower were all such a nice thing. There was firewood provided as well as kayaks fot those who needed it. It was nice that our dogs could all be off leash. Amber was very responsive for any and all questions I had.

We spent 5 days at this beautiful cabin. It was just right for two of us and our 2 dogs. Very comfortable. It has a beautiful trail to the river with a nice place to sit and enjoy the views. Our grandson enjoyed swimming and looking for shells. Kayaking was amazing. Our children had the other 3 tent/camper sites. It was the perfect size for a wonderful family camping trip. The bathroom clean and beautiful. The outdoor kitchen fit our needs perfectly. The outdoor shower was great!! Very peaceful and quiet.

An excellent secluded glamping experience that our dogs loved as much as us. The cabin was very well maintained and has access to a clean bathroom/shower and a very easy to use kitchen area. A great fire pit for family fun and lots of space to kids and pets to play. We highly recommend it to anyone.

Great place and host was responsive. Only downside was that sites were close and made it a little difficult to share the space when a large family was there but would come back, just rent the entire site. Amenities were amazing and location was perfect.

Husband, son, dogs, & I had a blast there. Found it very dog friendly! We lucked out with it being middle May and had the place to ourselves. The amenities were fantastic! It was so nice to glamp and have access to A/C and a fridge. We stayed in the cabin. Loved that there was bedding so we didn’t have to pack a bunch. Site was cool. Great location to parks. Food in towns nearby was good. Squirrel Cage was great for breakfast. Mosquitoes, ants, & ticks were bad unfortunately. The fire ring is shared among all sites. There is a fire ring at the river too. Kayaks were there which was cool. My dogs loved the path to the river. Great stay really enjoyed ourselves!

Amber has been working so hard to make this such a beautiful spot! The amenities are out of this world and not what I’m used to! We unfortunately did not get to meet but I would have loved to have learned her story. She was always quick to communicate. This place was quiet, serene, and beautiful. The hike to the river was so perfect in the night time, the bridges were well lit. And let me tell you about those stars…..the Milky Way was in perfect viewing all night. I’m hoping to make it back someday soon!

We loved the open space and privacy that we don’t get at state parks. I don’t think I’ve seen my youngest dog so content with being out camping and running around the woods. The amenities were fantastic. There are kayaks to use; didn’t use them but it’s a good option. Nice river view with a fire pit, could use a fire wood stack by the river otherwise you have to haul it. Plenty of tent spots . Electric spots are a little bit too close together for my tastes; but we had the sites to ourselves. Loved the kitchen and showers. 10/10 🌟 Will definitely come again.

This is just an awesome camp..the amenities are just amazing.The walk to the river and deck there my favorite part. Host very responsive and easy to deal with..her partner opened for us and very nice guy. Will go back..we were only ones there .The sites are very close so you might want to book with friends for privacy.Good group option Cleanest best set up hip camp we have used

Rustic Retreat Rave

It was actually my first Hipcamp experience and I think it will be difficult to top! From the price to the amenities to the hospitality and the sole reason that I like to support this type of business platform… I just can’t say enough good. First and foremost, I felt like I was helping an individual not a business. As we were checking out, we ran into the partner of the owner and he shared how this was for long time dream for Amber. I was so happy to be able to support that. The bathrooms, cook house, fire pit and round table were just a start. Beyond all of those amenities there was also the river, kayaks available and a well lit hiking path with cute little bridges. Every piece of the rustic retreat was well thought out. I almost don’t want to rave on them because I want this gem to remain hidden, but alas, I will share. I would come back anytime and happily bring friends along with! We were only located about an hour outside of Duluth. The location was perfect and I love a place where pets can be free to roam off leash. I give this a five star Hipcamp rating. It has set the standard moving forward.

Loved it!!! Going back 100%. Kids and dogs were fans. Super close quarters if you don’t know your neighbors. It’s three spots in a half moon like stated. They are close. We are coming back and renting the whole thing. That way the dogs can be loose.
