Please consider, Clayton Geneva is a primitive campground, gravel drives and left as natural as possible. This is not a sculpted campsite or a concrete campground. The primitive area is as such, gravel, grass, sand terrain accessible by a one lane gravel drive that leads over the hill and around the cliff to the riverbank. This drive is absolutely passable however is left bumpy to keep traffic at a safe speed as pedestrians also walk the drive. It is passable by any vehicle as long as the vehicle is not overloaded beyond its ability and/or has an extremely low profile. Any area that is not an actual campsite is left to nature, not manicured, trimmed or sculpted. As you’ll find all the sites are clear please don’t expect micromanaging of wild growth of our native plants in areas around the sites as we reserve those areas for the wildlife to enjoy. This area is an old tobacco and cattle farm on a point above Laurel Lake. We do a bit of farming and crafting when we can and thought we’d try and share our lovely spot! Much of the timber on the place is nearly 100 years old hardwoods, with a couple of fields throughout. I camp here myself too, and can recommend it for privacy! Weekend Trip to Green Creek Camp on Douglas Lake

We loved this campsite so much! It’s a pretty spacious area with a 2nd water and electric hookup if needed (our friends rented it with us) and having direct access to the lake was incredible. We spent so much time swimming and even rented their pontoon for an afternoon, which was a blast. The property is gorgeous, and the hosts (and their adorable dog!) were so welcoming and helpful. The site is pretty private and quiet, but gets full sun most of the day, so the boathouse was a great place to hang out and play games when it got too hot. The lake was pretty low by Labor Day, so the water in front of the site was too muddy to swim, but it was just a quick walk down to their main dock where we swam all afternoon. We honestly would have camped longer if we could! We’re already looking forward to coming back in May when the water is higher. We loved it!

I cannot even express, the love that has gone into this home away from home. It what we needed. Patrick and his amazing wife were the best Host! We left feeling like family. This will definitely be a destination spot for us forever. So many cool suggestions from Patrick to explore, in Williamsburg. The campground is beautifully taken care of. The water is right there out your tent or RV front door. Restroom, clean, well lit. They have so many amenities, very affordable. Next time we will definitely be getting all of the breakfast options! Getting ready to book our fall adventure!

What a great experience with wonderful hosts! Mary and Steve are fabulous communicators and helpful with the stay and amenities while allowing privacy as well. The best of both worlds!! The location was great for us, pretty views, relaxing, and private enough while being close to the action. There are plenty of things to do at the site and on the lake or you can visit attractions. Mary offered up some food suggestions that were different and amazing. Ryder even made a new friend. Thanks Wiggy for being patient! Well worth the trip and we hope to visit again. Thank you!!!

Weekend Trip to Green Creek Camp on Douglas Lake

We had such an enjoyable weekend staying here! You’re basically right on the lake and the owners were so welcoming and generous. They have this “boat house” where you are able to use their canoe, life jackets and inflatable floaties. The lake was peaceful and the campsite, while near other homes, felt very secluded. We can’t wait to come back 😌

This is a beautiful, well maintained park geared towards those travelling with horses, but still welcoming to those of us without. New, very clean, private showers/bathrooms. Miles of trails to hike (be mindful of riders and give them the right of way please). My favorite hike was to a big cave. Easy access into London for laundry, groceries, and fuel. Peaceful and quiet. Wonderful place!

The campground was quiet. There were a lot of chickens and roosters running around. You could hear them crowing in the mornings. There were a lot of birds because they have well used bird houses everywhere. You can watch goldfinches and barn swallows of plenty that you could watch fly in and out. There were owls that you could hear at night. An eagle flies up and down the river occasionally. There are also quite a few deer that wonder in. There is a waterfall in walking distance if you don’t mind a slight hike. Rabbits were rather plentiful too. There is plenty of room to walk around. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately we didn’t get to go canoeing due to all the flooding around Kentucky right now. It was nice to watch the river moving though. The down side, in a way, was the lights. They have security lights that are pretty bright but as long as you block all the windows at night (close all curtains) it is nice. It sounds amazing at night! The light, as I said is very bright. It was very quiet too and we were there from Sunday to the following Sunday. No loud parties and whatnot. There is some junk and whatnot sitting around but it isn’t distracting. It’s also not where you would trip over it so to speak and not near the water. The hosts were incredibly nice and helpful. We were able to sit and talk with them in the shelter. There is plenty of room to explore and for any kids to play. There is some things for kids to play on and disc golf baskets.

What a beautiful and peaceful campground. The staff was amazing and if that wasn’t enough, the views will have you wowwwed!! Additionally, the smell of fresh pine trees makes this place so serene. We will definitely be back.

We had a great camping trip at Patrick’s. Staff were fun to talk too and get ideas about local attractions. Bathrooms and showers were always clean and had warm water. Our family chose a primitive camping site near the river and enjoyed privacy and quiet. Two of the days we were there had rain and we were able to hang out and dry out a bit under the main barn. Would definitely recommend the location as long as no doubt exists about ability to attend. Grandparents weren’t able to attend as per medical reasons and received no refund as per the policy.

We enjoyed our stay at Otters Lake View . The host are lovely people and very helpful, The Resort feels secluded but is actually very convenient to the local attractions. The attached restaurant has great food and nightly music. You can bile to the restaurant, ice cream and gas station. There are 2 beaches with in biking distance. There is also a basket ball hoop. Campsites are quite and clean. Showers/Bathrooms are large and clean. They have a laundry facility but we did not use it. We would recommend and will return.

Campground was nice and clean we had a perfect view of the water from our site. Its close to the touristy stuff but not too close and the hosts were helpful and friendly as well as all the other campers. We will definitely camp again next time

Mary and Steve’s place was so lovely! The campsite looks down on the lake providing quite spectacular sunsets! The hosts are extremely accommodating and even helped us get backed in the spot in the pouring rain! You also have access to their pavilion if they mention it. You can tell they love hosting and will do anything in their power to make sure you have an enjoyable stay. We used our own chairs to sit in the shade of our rig instead of the fire pit chairs because the sun is directly over the pit. We would certainly recommend this site to anyone who loves a good lake view.

2 nights at Green Creek Camp on Douglas Lake

This was an amazing campsite, and we ended up loving it so much that we stayed an extra night! The lakefront setting is absolutely beautiful, with great views and easy access to the water. The lake was a beautiful green color, clean, and easily swimmable, which made spending time by the water even more enjoyable. One of the highlights was having access to a canoe, and the hosts went above and beyond by helping us get it into the water. The hosts were fantastic throughout our stay- friendly, welcoming, and genuinely invested in making sure we had a great experience. Despite being on a shared property, the site felt surprisingly private and peaceful, which made it easy to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Another great feature is that the hosts mentioned there are multiple campsites on the property that can be rented together, making this a great option for larger families or groups who want to camp near each other while still having their own space. Honestly, we couldn’t find any downsides to our stay. Everything exceeded our expectations, and we would gladly return. Highly recommend this site to anyone looking for a peaceful lakeside getaway with exceptional hosts.

I loved camping at Patrick’s Point. It was very secluded and right on the river. The WiFi and restrooms were such a nice addition. Be very careful if you have dogs though, they do have free range chickens that go everywhere on the campground.

You will be pleasantly surprised if you stay at Patrick's River point. The site on the Cumberland River is beautiful in itself and very well maintained. All the amenities are great, water, electric, bathrooms with showers, fire rings...with luck you may get some fresh eggs one morning compliments of the free range chickens . I plan on return trips for R&R with these gracious hosts!

This was our first time using hipcamp and it went so well that we can’t wait for our next trip. Patrick met us as we arrived and showed us to our spot for the night. It was so peaceful and gorgeous. The bath house, with private showers, was clean and it had nice, hot water. We loved all the sounds and sights of nature as we relaxed. We would highly recommend this location to any of our friends and family and hope to revisit again one day!

Weekend Trip to Green Creek Camp on Douglas Lake

We had an absolutely amazing trip! Mary and her husband Steve, are the kindest people!! They worked so hard to make sure we had a nice time! They checked on us prior to arrival to offer any help we may need with directions or setting up our site! Upon arrival, the site was very easy to pull in to with our camper and boat in tow! The view was incredible, and the water was so close! We let the dogs swim! We had some storms during the night, and they were so kind to check on us! We loved having the hook ups for our camper, and had plenty of room to set up our screened porch! The sun finally came out, and they helped us put our boat in! They are currently building some new docks which we look forward to using next time, but we had no problems launching the boat from the driveway! We were able to enjoy the sunset on the water! It was an amazing trip, and we were so thankful for their thoughtfulness and quick responses to our questions! Cannot wait to go back!! Highly recommend this hipcamp!

This place is my new favorite campground! Both Patrick and Angelica are very hospitable and even let us set up camp closer to the river than the site we'd originally booked! The campground is well maintained, but still gives the 'untouched natural beauty' vibe we were looking for. The night skies are just GORGEOUS and I truly cannot say enough nice things about our hosts. We opted for a costa rican breakfast the morning of our departure and I've got a new favorite snack(cinnamon sugar fried plantains!) This campground is close to national parks and plenty of outdoor activities- we're going to have to come back and explore more, because 4 days was not nearly long enough!
