Clyde River Camping

My friends and I camped at sites 1 & 2. The area was beautiful and the river was great. We enjoyed ourselves! Our only downside is we forgot to take a dip in the pond. Next time!!! Would recommend to anyone. Ron was a fantastic, kind host as well.

Great for NFCT paddlers!

Pretty property with nice amenities and very convenient location if you're paddling the Northern Forest Canoe Trail. The hosts were super chill and friendly and had an 8 week old black lab puppy that was incredibly adorable. Hope to stay here again!

Great place super well located and nice hosts ! Be sure to bring a lot of mosquito repellent as they are quite agressive. Other than that everything went well.

Lovely quiet spot by the river

We loved the place! We had a lot of space, firewood, a table and an access to the river. Our dogs had a lot of fun too! This is truly a hidden jewel just a few minutes of driving from Mount Pisgah and Willowby Lake. We are from Québec and it is about 30 min after the border. We'll be back for sure! However, since the tenting spot is right next to the river, you have to beware of mosquitoes. We were not as prepared as we should have been. You REALLY need long clothes ang bug repellant!

Its the perfect camping setup if you want to be alone in the wood. Easy to paddle in to the camp site. Lots of stuff already there like a bbq, chairs, woods, a what pump, fire starter kit, soap, grill for the fire pit, à plateform for your tent and more Ron and Laura are lovely and very kind. The place is amazing the river is calm and beautiful. One of the best camping we had for a long time! Will go back for sure

Great place to camp. Very roomie camp site. Access to a small river to kayak or paddle on. But the site is very close to the road so on a weekday, trucks and cars could be heard. Enough to wake us up. We would go back but on a site farther from the road

Very nice spot that's easy to get to. No cell service was a plus. The toilet situation is a little rustic so I definitely wouldn't bring certain people here.

The property is beautiful and it was a very private camping spot. Neighbor campers not too close! Site 1 is right on the river near the bridge. Ron and Laura stopped in and were the nicest people! We will definitely be staying here again.

Nice spot but bring your bug spray!

It was a very nice grassy site along the Clyde River. The shared out-house was odorless and cute. Yes, cute. We only stayed one night because we were on our way to Canada. Another time we would like to kayak the river. It has been a very rainy summer and the mosquito population was horrendous, no fault of the host. I had initially booked site #4 but was told the road to the site was under water so I had to cancel and rebook a different site. I was charged the non-refundable hipcamp fee. The host told me he would reimburse me but I forgot to stop by to see him before we left. I wish Hipcamp had a way to modify the site number like there is to modify the dates and number of guests.

We loved site # 4. Small but big enough for 2 small tents. Plenty of wood for the fire pit which has a cooking rack. An outhouse a short walk away. Loved the raised hammock platform on the river. Laura even took our gear out to the house, which we picked up after finishing our kayak trip down the river. It was buggy, so bring your spray!!

It was a great site! Had all you could ever need including chairs, a big gazebo, boat tie, platform for tent, and more. We felt super welcomed and even got invited to hang out with their family since we were there! The trail to get to the site is beautiful, but buggy. So bring bug spray but I absolutely recommend.

A Gem of a Place!

Ron and Laura have the most gorgeous piece of property right on the Clyde River. The sites are SO well thought out and designed, places and hosts like themselves are one of the reasons I love using Hipcamp! Thanks Ron and Laura:)

It was a nice little spot next to the river with a large lawn area adjacent. We had a great float/paddle down the river to the outfitters who gave us a ride back up the river with kayaks for $10! Really sweet day trip. The drawbacks were only being able to go downstream after the flooding rains this summer and the pretty constant sound of vehicles on the road. But have to say, the hosts were great and the site, with outhouse, outdoor sink and fire pit were wonderful. I’m just partial to a more remote spot

Ron’s land is beautiful and peaceful. The river is very relaxing and it’s a great location to explore the NEK from. Bring lots of potable water, everything else (outhouse, firewood, picnic table, etc) is easily accessible.
