Hal's place is great! It has everything one needs and the private and direct access to the Rogue River is perfect. The outdoor shower is super cool, the space has been thoughtfully setup. I had a great time and the host was so kind and friendly. There're a lot of wildlife sightings, and if you enjoy taking a dip on rivers this is the peace to go. I definitely recommend it and I'll be looking to stay here again.

Our first Hipcamp stay on the Rogue River was a total success. The host was friendly and welcoming, and the whole property felt cozy, whimsical, and thoughtfully put together. After the hot drive from California to Oregon, cold river lounging with icy beers was exactly what we needed. We loved watching bald eagles, herons, ducks, and geese overhead throughout the stay — the riverfront setting was beautiful and peaceful. The outdoor shower deserves its own mention — straight out of a vintage MAS*H “Hot Lips” scene. Showering under the moon was unexpectedly and relaxing. Our site had a table and chairs, plus additional seating down by the river. There were also fire pits available. The porta potty was very clean, the gated property felt safe and private, and overall it was an easy 5-star stay. We will absolutely come back.

This is a very quaint spot right on the Rogue River and not far from I-5. Shore power and city water hook-ups. Host was extremely welcoming. Would stay there again.

The host was as friendly as anyone could want, but the site was so close to I-5 that the traffic noise was unbearable all night long. Do not recomend.

Heidi was a great host. She was very friendly , able to tell us about the local wildlife. Toilet is a pit toilet, not a flush toilet. Loved seeing the Canadian geese and chicks in the morning by the river side. One improvement I would recommend is making the entrance easier to find after dark. I drove past it several times before I found it.

Great spot by the river and super friendly host! While we were the only ones there, it’s a small enough space that you’d still feel private enough. Easy access down to the river- beautiful place to watch the birds!

Just a wonderful experience on the Rogue River. Heidi was our host and she was very knowledgeable about the area and the wildlife. A fantastic stay! We will be back on our next trip to the Pacific Northwest.

Hal was so friendly and helpful. The spot is lovely with river access. There’s a cute outdoor shower and the cleanest ports potty I have ever seen. Proximity to Grants Pass is 6 miles.

This is such a beautiful, secluded, safe, perfect site. We fell in love with Oregon and the little town of Rogue River during our stay. The water was cold, but our 11 & 14 year old braved it and we had an incredible day on the riverbank. Thank you so much for the hospitality!

Camping with river view

I really enjoyed my stay at Hal's place. I backed my truck up so I could see the river and slept in the back so I could look out and see the stars at night. I spent time down by the river and took a little swim. Everything was just what I needed, easy to find and a beautiful place to be. Heidi was wonderful, friendly and also respectful of my space. I highly recommend Hal's place!

Chilling by the Rogue River.

This was a great spot to get off the I-5 and stay and chill by the Rogue River. Real safe place to camp and explore the area. Hal was really inviting and accommodating. I would give it 5 stars.
