Oak canopy RV/ tent site
Wooded campsite that was a very convenient location to a lot of Asheville districts. Host was attentive but not intrusive. Scenic location. Ann shared some interesting reading material. Would definitely schedule a return visit.

Great little spot with a very convenient porta potty. The owner was nice and helpful and offered many local suggestions. She kept us updated on weather/fire bans which was really helpful. They provided a bunch of kindling which was a nice surprise!

tents only, walk in ridge site
I came to hike and hit the town and this was the perfect spot. The Walk in tent site is easily accessible and feels private even though you are nearby the host’s home. I saw some bear cubs, so the owner’s policies for putting all trash and food in campers’ cars is legit. The hike to the Haw Creek overlook is 1.5-2 hours round trip, straight from the site, and well worth the view. Curses Cume, a great local and exquisite brewery, is only five minutes away, and downtown restaurants offer anything you could ask for. I had a great night listening to local music and listening to the rain tap the tent. Highly recommend!

Loose Gravel and Belittling Host
The drive up to this spot is pretty, but as you get to the (misrepresented) campsite it is narrow with no view other than the owner’s house. The host came out to greet us in a hurried manner and went directly back inside.
We have a teardrop trailer that we have driven for the last 5 months across the country and backed into tighter spots, but this one is on a steep incline.
It also had fresh loose gravel that was covered in leaves. In order to try to back our single axel trailer in, we needed to go up the hill and reverse several times. It was near impossible to get any traction to do this on the loose gravel. Ann then came out with two rakes and angrily said, “I hear your struggle, but you’re going to have to stop. You’re tearing up my driveway and it’s a lot of work to keep potholes out of it.”
I said, “Friend, I can hear that you’re angry, we will absolutely help rake your driveway.” My voice must have shook because she said, “It’s nothing to cry about. I’ve had people in 20 foot RVs do it. It’s definitely a skill set. I have to go back inside to teach therapy.”
At this point, we felt unsafe and unwelcome to stay. I would hope that Ann doesn’t talk to other guest (or her patients) in the belittling manner she spoke to us in.
We left this spot and found a beautiful place (with much better vibes!) with a view 10 minutes away in Asheville where we were treated with kindness.
Campers beware that the listing is misrepresented and the host is hostile.

Ann's location is great to headquarter out of for all sights and attractions in the Ashville area. It was very peaceful in the evenings yet still in town. The wood fire starter box and water at our camp site was a nice touch. The port a john was clean and very nice to have use of. We had no issues with the GPS getting us to the site but Ann's email confirming some directional detail was nice to have on our arrival day. We would return and also recommend this Hipcamp location.
