Oh my GOD, this place is amazing!!!! I mean, where do I start. The hosts, Leianna & Ben, were so friendly & welcoming (even after our dogsā chaotic greeting). We ordered an artisan pizza from them on our first night that might have been one of the best pizzas Iāve ever eaten.
The land/property is beautiful & very well maintained. & the tentā¦ I mean, it was literally perfect. It was decorated perfectly & they had literally everything we needed (including portable chargers, which we meant to bring but forgot). There were plenty of extra blankets so we were very comfortable. We also had access to a bathroom, shower, & small hangout room inside which we really appreciated when we wanted a reprieve from the wet & cold.
My partner & I could not stop talking about how much we loved this place. We stumbled upon a true hidden gem when we booked at CMW! Our dogs had a great time & are officially wiped out now that weāre home. I could go on & on, we will definitely be back!!

The couple days we spent at Camp Mara-Wanna this week won't be our last! First off, Ben and Leighanna were the most lovely hosts and always made sure we had what we needed, even when we forgot our own flashlights! They created an absolutely wonderful experience on their little slice of magical Midwest land. The vibes were perfect from the moment Leighanna flagged us down their driveway. We brought our pup, Willow, and she just adored both host humans AND the 2 resident host-pups, Achilles and Gracie. She gives a solid 4/4 paws š¾ ā š¾ and we couldn't agree more. We were provided plenty of blankets to keep warm on some of the first near -freezing temps we've got this year and access to their stock of firewood to keep warm around the fire circle.
The vision they have for Camp Mara-Wanna is based in a beautiful love for the healing of nature, food, cannabis, and overall wellness. We are all excited to come back for future stays and day events!
Ben and Leighanna are making the dream a reality with providing a weed-friendly place to connect with your inner child and marry it with the getaway camp some adults never got to experience. I'm excited to see what they do next and will be talking this magical place up to everyone who will listen.

As trans-queer people living in the midwest, we are cautious about the spaces we let our guard down in, but Camp Mara-Wanna was an incredibly welcoming environment where we felt safe to be ourselves.

Great camping weekend experience. Thereās a common area to hang out in when it gets to hot outside in the tent. When it gets dark out at night you can see the stars very clearly. Tent was clean and ambient lighting was nice. The sheets were very soft. Fire pits have grates which was nice for some campfire cooking. Paths are lit up at night and thereās a bathroom to use. Would definitely recommend to others and come back for a second stay.

We loved staying here on our road trip home! We got in around 9 pm and were cheerfully welcomed & checked in. We immediately felt at home after a 10 hour drive, and felt kindred spirit vibes with the owners (so sorry- can't remember their names!). The hangout area around our tent was perfect! We're a little sad we were too tired to enjoy it. The bed was super comfortable- can't get over those sheets! Immaculate vibes that have obviously been put together with intention & love. The property was well taken care of & secure. We felt safe leaving our belongings in our car a little distance away from the tent we stayed in. Even though we just stayed here as a quick stop on our way home, would definitely recommend as a longer get away. Side note, "we" are 2 female travelers who felt totally safe staying here. We would have both felt safe staying there as solo travelers as well. So much love for this space. Lou loved Carl as well.
