A quiet country retreat nestled in the picturesque rural outskirts of Higginsville, Missouri. Our place consists of three RV sites with water and electric hookups, two camping sites and one on-site travel trailer for rent. Wifi is available at all sites, except for Site 3. Green Acres at Red Brick Farm is located just 50 miles east of Kansas City off of I-70 at Exit 49. Once you are off of I-70 your drive is less than 8 minutes away on all blacktop roads. Site 2 is on gravel with 30 amp hookup and water, preferably best for RV’s and trailers 25’ and under. Site 1 and Site 3 are on gravel with a 20/30/50 amp hookup and water, best suited for larger RV’s and trailers. You may choose your site location, but due to the small number of sites we have we may have to alter your choice. This is so we can accommodate our guests in the best way possible, depending on the size of each rig. If you are towing a vehicle or pulling a trailer your total length should be 55’ or under. We will not accept Triple Axels. Site 4 and site 5 are for tents, pop ups, very tiny trailers and are in flexible locations. A 20 amp standard outlet can be provided for site 4 and site 5. For your use is a shower, toilet, and bathroom sink in our farmhouse basement. Please arrive before dusk, so you don’t disturb other campers. Site 6 Is the on-site travel trailer, ‘Ain’t She Cute’. No Pets are allowed when reserving ‘Ain’t She Cute’. The vintage style travel trailer is completely renovated and decorated with collectibles and antiques and is available for booking. It is furnished with a queen size bed, tiny kitchen, TV, wifi, and full size, not trailer size, bathroom. The trailer is for 2 guests, but an additional guest may sleep on the daybed, preferably a child or small adult. We live onsite in our 1920’s Prairie Style home which is also Red Brick Farmhouse Bed and Breakfast with three Guest Rooms available for booking. Look us up online. At your disposal, is the use of our outdoor furniture, a large yard to walk around in, a fire pit, a BBQ grill, and even a tire swing. Our restaurant, Red Shanty Cafe and BBQ, is located in the town of Higginsville, about 5 miles from Red Brick Farmhouse. Red Shanty Cafe is open Weds and Thurs, 11am - 8 pm and Fri and Sat, 11am - 9pm.

We are just off I-29 in northwest Missouri between St. Joseph and Platte City. This tiny cabin is across the driveway from our house on flat ground. Our property is 21 acres and includes a yard of 6 acres and fields (alternating corn and soy beans) and a wooded area. There is a fishing pond down the hill behind our house. There is also a fire pit to the left (north) of the cabin. Around the fire pit are swings and benches. We call this area Geriatric Park. It used to be a playground for our grandkids, but when they outgrew it we adults took it over! We have a gravel driveway which services our house and the cabin. You park next to the cabin. There is a kitchenette with the necessary essentials and a small bath with a shower and toilet. There is also heat and AC. If you love nature and want to relax, walk in the fresh air, or even be put to work, just let us know. We want your stay here to be enjoyable and hope you look forward to coming back! We are in the country not too far from the Pigeon Hill firing range, so you may hear gunfire from there or the neighbor's target practicing. Nearby are several wineries, the McCormick Distillery in Weston MO, and historical St Joseph MO (where the Pony Express began and Jesse James ended), as well as several antique stores. Just a little further southwest is Leavenworth KS, which has a huge amount of history and more antiques, and Fort Leavenworth (the Army's Command and General Staff College (CGSC)). To the east is Jamesport MO, our local Amish colony. This is a farm. If the thought of a bug, spider web, or strand of hair makes you cringe, this probably isn't the place for you. The cabin is clean and sanitized between each visitor, but is not prepared for a forensic inspection. Thanks for understanding! Learn more about this land: This property was just a farm field when we bought it. We love how it is turning out and can't wait to share it with you. We don't eat our ducks, but love the eggs when they decide to lay them. We also have 3 Nigerian Dwarf goats, named Dawg (white and brown), Gracie (black) and George (black and white). They sleep with the ducks, but we let them out in the yard most days. No matter what they say, please don't let them in your cabin. They are NOT potty trained. In the cabin is an informational book that tells about our rules, local restaurants, things to do, how to work the TV, microwave/air fryer combo, and hot plates. Our pond is fed by underground springs, so the water is very cold. We keep it stocked with 6 kinds of fish (blue gill, crappie, big mouth bass, small mouth bass, catfish and 1 carp). If you choose to fish, please don't keep the albino's or the carp (he keeps our pond clean). If others are dinner size, enjoy your fresh meal! The farmer behind us has cows, so you may see or hear them. We also see visiting deer and turkey on occasion. If you bring your pets, do not leave them outside alone. Being in the country, we have coyotes, bobcats, skunks and raccoons. None of those are pet friendly.

This was an amazing stay. Small and cozy. The cabin was clean and had pretty much everything we needed. Despite having people in the areas around us, it was so quiet and peaceful. The neighbor we did interact with was friendly and helpful. The host responded quickly and was very helpful in explaining the things we needed to know. The only issue we had was really out of the owners control and not his fault at all. Off leash dogs come right up on the deck. 🤦‍♀️ Overall a great stay, and I would definitely stay again.

We loved the peace and quiet. There's water features and streams throughout the trails on property. Check with Michael about using the gas stove and oven; we didn't use it and the gas may have been off. Everything was clean and the inside water got hot. Michael was quiet to respond.

Milo Farms really is a magical place. Great hiking trails with little to no poison ivy. That is a big deal for me being severely allergic. All the wonderful people who keep the farm running are so nice and they are always happy to help. As a solo camper, I felt very safe as well.

A True Hidden Gem! Pictures Don't Do It Justice! My wife and I had the most wonderful weekend camping at Harmony Lake! From the moment we arrived, the hosts, Joan and Ken, were incredibly welcoming and hospitable. They keep the property in absolutely immaculate condition. We needed electricity for our site, and Ken made it happen without any trouble at all. The views from our tent overlooking the lake were breathtaking—the definition of camping luxury! We spent our time relaxing and filming our new Coody Dome tent for our YouTube channel, "Gear Up, Go Explore!", and this location was the perfect backdrop. The description and photos online don't do this place justice; it truly exceeded our expectations. The property has fantastic amenities, like clean showers, restrooms, and even communal propane grills and a kitchen area, which saves so much space when packing. We loved the little touches, like the friendly animals, the floating bridge to the island retreat, and the well-stocked lake for catch-and-release fishing. For just $15, they provide a very generous amount of high-quality firewood, which was super convenient. Whether you're looking for a private, basic site in the woods or a full hookup site by the water, they have options. Our advice: book fast, because this place is amazing! Thank you, Joan and Ken, for an unforgettable experience. We will definitely be back!

We’ve stayed here twice in the last month and it feels just like a private getaway for me and my family! Lovely hosts and pretty much everything we would need on hand to enjoy the amenities on the property. We enjoyed the paddle boats, the floating walkway, beach, trampoline, tables near the dock for a picnic lunch and hot shower in the guest house. Plan on coming back after winterizing our camper for those more mild winter days and use the kitchen/bathroom in the guest house for our water related needs.

Weekend Trip to Owl Creek Cabins

We had a wonderful time the yurt is beautiful, the bed is comfortable. The property is so fun. We had a nice hike and there are a few other fun places he is working on to glamp in the future. The area is private, you can kindof see the other sites but can't hear them. We brought our 8mo old baby set up our travel crib and she had a great time. The area is mostly shaded so it stayed cool while we were there. We stayed 2 nights and wish we could've stayed more. There was a fan in the yurt which was nice because we were debating bringing one, and there were several chairs both by the site and by the camp fire so we didnt even use ours. There is a hammock which was peaceful to lay on. We didn't use the grill but it takes charcoal and tools are provided. The bed is a queen size. You don't have to bring much to be comfortable there. We will definitely go back!

I had a great time here, JQ was an awesome host and made us feel at home. There is a lot to do and plenty of space. The camping area and trails were very nice and well maintained. I will definitely be back.

Weekend Trip to Harmony Lake Farm Park & Playground

Joan and Ken were wonderfully friendly, communicative, and flexible hosts — even though I stayed only briefly, they made everything easy and welcoming. The farm stay is a beautiful location, and the campsite was comfortable and well-appointed. I’d happily return and would recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful, accommodating getaway.

We loved tent camping here! Joan and Kenny were wonderful hosts. The property was nice and clean and better than advertised. Perfect place to break away from the life’s hustle. We look forward to returning to Harmony Lake.

6 nights at Basswood Family Camping Resort

A lovely campground! The grounds and the bathrooms were very clean. Had some hiking trails and I enjoyed walking around with the pup. Staff was kind and there is a well-stocked store. It's a little out of the way but that made for a peaceful stay.

1 night at Treloar Ranch

Perfect for a secluded camping getaway. Available water and electric hookup if needed. SUPER sweet farm animals! Stargazing was amazing as there was no light pollution! Highly recommended for an easy and safe sleep under the stars.
