Feel the energy of the sacred land. We also have SO may attractions! There are 2 stocked ponds, miles of trails, pool, Zen garden, farm animals, a library and more. Find all the portals here! This land has been asking to be shared. First it was swings and little things for the grandchildren and their friends. Then the Cabin by the pond began to welcome visitors. Soon the steep slope anchored a Yurt with a wrap-around deck that puts you up in the trees. Our gathering spot by the creek became a camp site. Recently the grandkids' Bunk House found its way in. Our Retreat is 10 acres, narrow, but 1/4 mile deep, stretching down a steep wooded slope to a creek - and up the other side to the top of a bluff.  It is only ten miles to Jefferson City but has a quiet and distant feel.

Located at the confluence of the Meramec River and Labarque Creek, my place (Matt's Place) is a ridge above a bottomland bowl of sorts. The old iron truss bridge here is likely built in 1910 and it has a survey marker from 1932. The creek has a nice little swimming hole, and a beach that is sometimes sand, sometimes, gravel, and sometimes a mix of both with some silt or even mud after a storm. It's peaceful down there to explore in the creek, wade while looking outward to an opening into the Meramec River. It's also fun to stand just at the mouth of the creek in the Meramec River. It's an awesome view upstream or downstream of tree lined banks, rock bluffs, and every now and then, passing boats, canoes, paddle boards, or kayaks. The old iron truss bridge hovers above the meeting of two waters. The water is cool and clean. Some fifty species of fish have been recorded in this creek, the most in all of Jefferson County and St Louis County. The bottomland has two levels, the lower bottoms down by the creek and the upper bottoms about a hundred feet from the creek. The upper bottoms has a clearing like a meadow with mowed grass. My favorite things to do here include gazing up at a cottonwood tree that must be sixty feet tall. It's leaves in a breeze are like a thousand hands waving hello. The bottomland meadow offers just enough sky to see bats dance in the dusk air between the trees, then fireflies as it gets darker yet. Up top is where I live. Just five miles off HWY 44 and HWY 109, at Eureka, MO, (30 minutes west of downtown St Louis, 18 minutes from Six Flags) this place sits on a ridge with great views above the Meramec River.

I was invited 4 years ago and finally made it. I desperately needed time to myself (alone) to reset and to find peace. Dockley Ranch is a sanctuary, a place to just sit still and feel the natural beauty of this planet. I had everything I could need including coffee. Instructions were clear. I was welcomed by employees who gave a tour of my cabin and explained how every thing worked including a friendly visit from the Alpaca. Recommendation. Bring bug spray for the trail. I brought some amazon boxes to use as a fire starter. Bring flip flops for the shower or to have in hand to enjoy the waterfall. Follow their driving directions and drive slow. Enjoy the views. Beautiful site - the little red cabin is extremely comfortable including air conditioning! Mandy, who works on the farm, welcomed me and gave a tour. I settled in and Dan popped by - learned so much about the history of the farm. I had a fire (thanks again to Dan) and a beautiful walk. The highlight for me was all the fireflies twinkling after dark. I highly recommend and will return!

Quiet and quaint it’s perfect for a relaxing and rejuvenating get away. The farms name is perfect, bc it really is so peaceful. My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the cabin and absolutely loved exploring the farm. Seeing and hearing all the wildlife and what nature has to offer was the highlight of our trip. Katie and her husband are incredibly nice and accommodating anything you may need. The cabin was clean and neat and seriously so perfect for a solo or couples get away!

Weekend Trip to Robert's Redneck Retreat, LLC

Great little romantic spot. The creek was great. Loved that their dogs stayed around the cabin at night on guard for us. Kathy and Robert are very nice and accommodating.

My husband and I stayed with our 1 yr old pup in June- and wow. What an absolute gem of a stay! Lacey has thought of everything to make your getaway effortless and cozy. The bed was deliciously comfortable, piled high with cozy pillows, light and heavy blankets and extra throws. The kitchen was outfitted with everything you could need to prep a basic cabin dinner. The outhouse was clean and inviting, well lit and had excellent instructions for how to use the composting toliet. The woodfire hot tub was amazing and the lavendar and chamomille sachet was an adorable touch. But above all of that was the EXCELLENT communication we had with Lacey prior to, and throughout the entire trip. She kept us updated on water levels, worked with us on scheduling a float and was generally just spectacular on every level. The weather threw us for a loop, but even with Mother Nature making the trip a challenge, we still had a magical time and would 100% suggest this location to anyone who asked. We will be back!

Weekend Trip to Honey Grove Campground

Quiet, clean, A/C, fan, and towel hooks. Clean showers and toilets. It was just as described. Respectful fellow campers. Beautiful sunset. Wish we arrived earlier to play volleyball or horseshoes. No shade so be aware if it’s summertime. Five minute drive to peaceful Adam-ondi-Ahman.

Weekend Trip to Honey Grove Campground

Exactly as described. Cabin was clean, basic, had a window A/C unit and a fan. Also appreciated the hooks on the wall we used for our towels, outlets, and the ceiling light. The shared bathrooms and showers were clean. If we had arrived earlier, would have loved the volleyball and horseshoes. Quiet small campground. Not much shade but nice for one night. It was very hot so the A/C unit and fan was wonderful.

Weekend Trip to Annie's HIDEOUT Musicians Camp

Annie was extremely kind. Very easy to navigate and we enjoyed our time there. Unfortunately the shower did not work but she was very hospitable, she stocked us with a pack of water bottles (we also brought our own water) and otherwise enjoyable time. Easy to bring friends there and good for a group setting to hang out. We were careful of poison ivy on property but easy enough to stay away from and if someone is looking to get away for the weekend definitely a good place to go!

1 night at D'Ranch at Clearwater

D'Ranch is a great place to stay. The property is beautiful and the hosts terrific. I stayed in the cabin with electric and really enjoyed it. It was clean and comfortable. I like that they have kayaks and a canoe to use to explore the lake. Tracey is very accommodating, friendly and informative about the local area. I have stayed there multiple times and each time it has been great.

Weekend Trip to Camp River Campground LLC

All the comforts of a hotel with all the beauty of camping! No need to pack a sleeping bag, the beds have pillows and blankets already. Fridge, freezer, microwave, and cheap ice made meals very easy. The porch has two chairs and a small table. There is a cigarette container for those who need it. The picnic table was in great shape and the firepit kept our coals warm enough that I only had to light our fire the first night and it stayed hot enough to cook our meals for the next day. The bathroom had hot running water, a shower, and a flush toilet. That was super handy for our kids in the middle of the night. AC and heat kept us comfortable at night, while the TV and DVD player were a nice break when rain came through. We enjoyed the playground and the walking trail. Definetly consider this cabin for your next glamping trip! (Cabin 1 & 2 are two halves of the same building. Cabin 2 was empty during our trip. It would have been a bit too cozy if we had neighbors that close. For more privacy, choose Cabin 3, 4, the Squirrel Nest, or the Tackle Box.)
