D'Ranch at Clearwater is a small, 40 acre hobby farm located on the north side of the Lake of the Ozarks in Central Missouri. What started as a simple love of backyard chickens has now become a dream farm for Tracey Durant and her husband Theodore. Nestled in the valley between two forest covered hillsides, and running adjacent to Clearwater Creek on the east and the lake on the south, D'Ranch could not have been a more perfect location for the Durants to plant their roots and get their feet wet. While they continue their love of backyard chickens with their small egg and hatchery operation know as HeebyJeeby Chickens, they have expanded their interests to an array of friendly farm animals including horses, cows, pigs, goats, sheep, ducks, and an occasional turkey or two.

Cabin #3 with electric
This property is great. We rented the cabin with electric. We felt it was a little overpriced considering the bathroom was a shared port-a-potty but the cabin was clean, the beds comfortable, and it had aircon. The owner is really nice and the kids loved petting and learning about the farm animals. Also it is right on the lake with kayak/canoe access. Something to keep in mind is that you won’t get a key for the cabin.

Great experience and awesome people
This was our first time using Hipcamp. We boondock camped in a travel trailer. From the start making the reservations was easy and quick. Tracey responded quickly to confirm our reservation and was quick to reposed to any questions I messaged to her. When we arrived Tracey greeted us and provided us a hookup to fill our fresh water tank. She was pleasant and welcoming from the start. Once we filled our tank Tracey and Ted showed us to our campsite and assisted us in getting our trailer parked. They also had a pile of firewood ready for our campfire.
The area was very well maintained and we had a great view of the part of the lake that comes into their property. There were several other groups staying there, but everything was spread out enough that it was quiet and easy to relax. We were able to enjoy watching the various farm animals and Learn about them from Tracey. Throughout our stay Tracey and Ted checked in on us to see if there was anything we needed.
On Saturday night they made homemade ice cream and invited their guest to partake. They also had a bonfire that night that all were welcome to attend. Throughout the stay both Tracey and Ted treated us like they had known us forever. We took advantage of the paddle boat and canoe to explore the area and go out further into the lake. Tracey and Ted explained some of the best areas to fish and also provided us with some bait.
It was a great experience and I plan on being a return guest.

D’Ranch is D’Best!!!
The cabins a eloquently put together with love. The owners Tracy and Tim are wonderful hosts that offer bon fires, a working farm to enjoy along with fishing, canoeing, and kayaking.
I highly recommend D”Ranch and will visit there again very soon!
