Sunset Mountain is an exclusive reservation only 18+ clothing optional/nudist campground located on my working cattle farm. We are not a place for partying or any sexual activity or PDA. We are a place to relax and enjoy nature. (Please do not drive up to our gate and try to get in. Please make a reservation in advance.) Although we cater to adults only we follow TNSF and AANR guidelines for social nude recreation. If you are not familiar with TNSF or AANR you can do a quick internet search and see some basic guidelines for social nude recreation. Sunset Mountain does typically operate as a blind service venue meaning we do business online and we and or our maintenance team may not be seen during your stay. We have a good team in place to help your stay be enjoyable please just understand we don’t operate like some of the nudist clubs you may be used to.
Sunset Mountain is a nice quiet place to relax and work on your tan. We have RV sites, tent camping areas and overlanding sites. As lodging options we have a converted bus and shipping container. The campground has a bathroom facility with indoor shower and seasonal outdoor showers. We have a hot tub and propane grill guests can use year round along with hiking trails in the summer and a swimming pool.
Sunset Mountain is near the Elk River in Noel Missouri and close to Northwest Arkansas where there are mountain biking trails, museums and many other activities. Sunset Mountain is listed on the Monarch Butterfly Waystation registry as well.
We are located 1.2 miles away from the Noel city park that has free Elk River access, 4 miles to Mt. Shira free Elk River access near Shady Beach and 5.2 miles to the free Elk River access in Pineville, MO near Shady Beach Pineville.

Located at the confluence of the Meramec River and Labarque Creek, my place (Matt's Place) is a ridge above a bottomland bowl of sorts.
The old iron truss bridge here is likely built in 1910 and it has a survey marker from 1932.
The creek has a nice little swimming hole, and a beach that is sometimes sand, sometimes, gravel, and sometimes a mix of both with some silt or even mud after a storm. It's peaceful down there to explore in the creek, wade while looking outward to an opening into the Meramec River. It's also fun to stand just at the mouth of the creek in the Meramec River. It's an awesome view upstream or downstream of tree lined banks, rock bluffs, and every now and then, passing boats, canoes, paddle boards, or kayaks. The old iron truss bridge hovers above the meeting of two waters. The water is cool and clean. Some fifty species of fish have been recorded in this creek, the most in all of Jefferson County and St Louis County. The bottomland has two levels, the lower bottoms down by the creek and the upper bottoms about a hundred feet from the creek. The upper bottoms has a clearing like a meadow with mowed grass.
My favorite things to do here include gazing up at a cottonwood tree that must be sixty feet tall. It's leaves in a breeze are like a thousand hands waving hello. The bottomland meadow offers just enough sky to see bats dance in the dusk air between the trees, then fireflies as it gets darker yet. Up top is where I live.
Just five miles off HWY 44 and HWY 109, at Eureka, MO, (30 minutes west of downtown St Louis, 18 minutes from Six Flags) this place sits on a ridge with great views above the Meramec River.

D'Ranch at Clearwater is a small, 40 acre hobby farm located on the north side of the Lake of the Ozarks in Central Missouri. What started as a simple love of backyard chickens has now become a dream farm for Tracey Durant and her husband Theodore. Nestled in the valley between two forest covered hillsides, and running adjacent to Clearwater Creek on the east and the Lake on the south, D'Ranch could not have been a more perfect location for the Durant's to plant their roots and get their feet wet.
While they continue their love of backyard chickens with their small egg and hatchery operation, they have expanded their interests to an array of friendly farm animals including horses, milk cows, pigs, sheep, ducks, geese, and an occasional turkey or two. Guests are welcome to explore the farm, join in the daily milking, and participate as much as they like in the farm chores. There are excellent photo ops so come prepared, and don't forget to share those great pics!

Comments:
1) Please excuse the mess - we have many projects in progress in the front of the property. The back of the property is private.
2) We recommend repellent for ticks, chiggers, mosquitos, and other bugs during warm season.
3) The Cicada season usually starts in May. We recommend earplugs if that sound bothers you.
4) During heavy rain, there is a seasonal creek leading to the back of the property that can be difficult to pass without a 4X4. If you aren't driving a 4x4, park closer to the house on the gravel driveway.
5) There is a walking trail around the perimeter of the property.

We have two private sites, a primitive campsite directly on the Lake of the Ozarks, and a RV spot with full hook-ups (water, 50 amp AC, and sewer). The two sites are separated from each other, but both have access to the lake, including kayaks, a canoe, a paddleboat, excellent fishing, a boat-ramp, floating dock and a one-mile perimeter nature/hiking trail.
*** NOTE *** From January until early May, the lake level is dropped about five (5) feet, so boating and fishing access range from difficult to impossible (though, arrowhead hunting is a fun activity you might enjoy during the low water months!).
Primative Campsite - A private 1.5 acre campsite with a firepit (and plenty of wood to burn in it) and direct access to the Lake of the Ozarks. Amenities and features of the campsite include: a private camp toilet with a door and a concrete pad, picnic table on a gravel pad with an umbrella, a fully equipped cornhole game, fishing pole holders, a garbage can, three (3) level wood tent platforms, and even a big swing set!
RV site - the RV site also has a picnic table with umbrella, a garbage can and a fully equipped cornhole game. Nearby, the RV site also has access to a very nice private pit toilet, a gazebo with lights and an electrical outlet, and a firepit stocked with firewood.

The farm is very rural. We are 16 miles to the closest gas station, and 25 miles to town. There is no internet. Cell phone service is spotty at best.
Currently a working farm, we have 2 high tunnels on the property behind the house, and our original market garden.
Across the creek we are finishing up our 5 acre agroforestry planting. 3 acres of elderberries and 2 acres of blackberries.
28 acres, 3 on one side, and 25 on the other.
The farm is located approximately 2 hours south of St. Louis.

Located in a serene valley in the Ozark Highlands, the Ranch has Sheep, Scottish Highland Cattle, Chickens, Ducks and Great Pyrenees livestock guard dogs (only in the sheep pastures - and they are friendly). This is a unique site located in the Ozark Highlands. Only 45 minutes from Cape Girardeau (a small river town on the Mississippi), and 45 minutes from the Arcadia Valley including Taum Sauk mountain (the highest point in Missouri), Elephant Rocks, the Johnston Shutins, and other beautiful areas in the highlands.
The farm is five minutes from Marble Hill, which is home to the Bollinger County Natural History museum which highlights the only dinosaur bones found in Missouri. The bones were found at a farm in Glennallen (a few minutes from our farm) as well as a great barbeque (Jay’s Restaurant) and a good catfish restaurant (Jers Restaurant). On the way to our farm, feel free to stop at the 1,700 foot deep artesian well to get a cool, refreshing jug of natural artesian well water – the water is free, but you have to bring your own containers!
We are two and a half hours southwest of St. Louis, and two and half hours northwest of Memphis.

We great enjoyed our time at Mesta Meadows camping in the sheep pasture. As non-farmers, it was a great experience. It was a good opportunity to ponder our Good Shephard. Ed and Terri went above a beyond for us giving of their time. Ed took us around to all of the camp spots and let us choose the one that fit us best. The ones across the road on the south farm have a clear creek and springs to enjoy. There are wooded opportunities. We picked the one overlooking the pond. It was quiet and peaceful with a great view and we made friends with the sheep. Watching them was better than TV! We visited the other farm animals and Terri helped us in the petting area and opened the store for us to shop. The sheep's ice cream was delicious! The next morning Ed took us on an adventure to feed and have an up-close and personal encounter with the Highland Cattle. We felt safe. We had cell service too. Living only 45 minutes away, we would love to come back again for a quick get-away from home to-do's.

One of the best camping spot with clear water to swim in and a little beach vibe for you to camp in. #3 is wayy better than #2 absolutely worth the price. Accidentally pulled into their actual house drive through so please look for a hipcamp sign before you pull into the driveway next to the bridge.

D'Ranch is a great place to stay. The property is beautiful and the hosts terrific. I stayed in the cabin with electric and really enjoyed it. It was clean and comfortable. I like that they have kayaks and a canoe to use to explore the lake.
Tracey is very accommodating, friendly and informative about the local area.
I have stayed there multiple times and each time it has been great.

My daughter and I visited over Memorial Day Weekend! The hosts are AMAZING! The grounds are gorgeous! They have great amenities for camping (loved being able to use the paddleboat). I would Highly recommend staying here! Also, the farm animals are such a fabulous addition to a camp spot!

Second time at D’Ranch! This trip I brought my grandson and Mom. We had so much fun!! Played in the water, looked for cool rocks, said hi to all the animals (several times), learned to fish and played endlessly with Allie “the wittle doggie.” She was the perfect match for my little guy. So much so that we missed out on the bonfire after an early bedtime but we could still see it from the tent! Tracey and Ted are the best. I think this might be our new annual ‘kick off summer’ trip. Excited to try out the canoe and kayak next.

Great camping experience here! Creekside 2 had a good amount of space to set up our tents and it was only a 5 minute walk to our vehicles. The hosts were super helpful with hauling our heavier items back and forth in their atv. Their land was fun to explore and the setting under the tree canopy at the site is beautiful (see photo from tent). Will definitely be back!

4 nights at Ozarks Piney Bend Riverfront
I spent a few days staying at this absolute gem. The space is layed out very well. The hot tub was amazing! I am so glad I chose this place for my first Hipcamp experience. Lacey has done an amaozing job on this cabin. The twinkle lights all of it create a magical ambaince even when it was raining the front porch looking over the river was so beatuiful. I will absolutely be back!!

Stayed here on a bikepacking trip across the state and it was everything we needed for our night. Campsite was quiet and private. A bit buggy but they had a tiki torch ready to go for us that helped a lot. Short walk to shower/toilet. Host was very communicative and greeted us when we arrived.

Beautiful and cozy elevated camping right outside of the city. The treehouse was perfect for a rainy night and would be great in the winter.

Group trip
My partner and I needed a spot close to the Shut Ins & Elephant Rock park (about 20-25 minute drive) when all of the other campgrounds were full and this was the perfect spot. Bill’s land is beautiful, very peaceful, and well maintained. Little brushy creek was so gorgeous running right by our camp spot, it added the most perfect scenery to our site. We will definitely be back to visit Bill & his wonderful campground.

This property is gorgeous. Randy and Milissa put so much thought and care into creating a peaceful campsite. We loved walking around the farm and spent a lot of time by the creek, it is so lovely and the frogs are so cute. The stars were brilliant at night and we even saw the pasture filled with fireflies one evening, that was magical! The campsite itself is so welcoming, a big fire ring, (wood provided), a picnic table, dishwashing station, bar b que and a pristine outhouse. They even have a cupboard with cooking supplies in case you need them. Our dogs loved it there as well, they could not get enough of the creek. We felt so relaxed there, it was truly hard to leave. Highly, highly recommend, it is a gem of a place!

my partner and I stayed at campsite 1 and it was absolutely stunning! the site itself was very spacious which gave us a lot of wiggle room to set up. the creek is a short 10ft away or so. it’s filled with fish, crayfish, water bugs, and other fauna. the host, bill, was such a sweet person. he greeted us when we arrived and showed us around his property. we had a great conversation and although he was off the property, he told us to message him if we needed anything. the firewood bundle was very generous. I assumed it would be maybe 7 or 8 pieces, but it was closer to 25-30 pieces which he covered with a tarp to prevent the wood from getting wet. overall, the entire property was beautiful and clean, and bill was incredibly nice.

There are SO MANY things to love about the Sawmill Hollow Campground!!!
If you want a beautiful setting, this is the place! If you want total peace and quiet, this is the place! If you want to camp someplace that has practically NO bugs, this is the place!!!
Mike and Arlene and Max, their sweet dog, are so pleasant and nice to visit with. And their front yard that has the gazebo or (shelter house) and fire pit looks like a park!
The lake comes right up to their property and Mike has built several benches with fishing pole holders all along the water's edge. And they have a dock and a gazebo and a fire pit and they even supplied the items for cornhole. And they let you use their canoes and kayaks and provide firewood for the fire pit. They really just go above and beyond for their guests!
The main reason why we went there above other places that we looked at was because our dogs could stay off leash the entire time. And it turned out that there were so many other amenities as a bonus. Max is so sweet and goes with Mike everywhere so if you have dogs that don't get along with other dogs, keep them home because Max isn't a fighter and doesn't deserve to be treated badly by nasty tempered dogs!
Out of 5 stars, I give Sawmill Hollow a TEN!!!
