Sunset Mountain is an exclusive reservation only 18+ clothing optional/nudist campground located on my working cattle farm. We are not a place for partying or any sexual activity or PDA. Although we cater to adults only we follow TNSF and AANR guidelines for social nude recreation. If you are not familiar with TNSF or AANR you can do a quick internet search and see some basic guidelines for social nude recreation. Sunset Mountain does typically operate as a blind service venue meaning we do business online and we and or our maintenance team may not be seen during your stay. We have a good team in place to help your stay be enjoyable please just understand we don’t operate like some of the nudist clubs you may be used to.
Sunset Mountain is a nice quiet place to relax and work on your tan. We have RV sites, tent camping areas and overlanding sites. As lodging options we have a converted bus and shipping container. The campground has a bathroom facility with indoor shower and seasonal outdoor showers. We have a hot tub and propane grill guests can use year round along with hiking trails in the summer and a swimming pool.
Sunset Mountain is near the Elk River in Noel Missouri and close to Northwest Arkansas where there are mountain biking trails, museums and many other activities. Sunset Mountain is listed on the Monarch Butterfly Waystation registry as well.
We are located 1.2 miles away from the Noel city park that has free Elk River access, 4 miles to Mt. Shira free Elk River access near Shady Beach and 5.2 miles to the free Elk River access in Pineville, MO near Shady Beach Pineville.

We have two private sites, a primitive campsite directly on the Lake of the Ozarks, and a RV spot with full hook-ups (water, 50 amp AC, and sewer). The two sites are separated from each other, but both have access to the lake, including kayaks, a canoe, a paddleboat, excellent fishing, a boat-ramp, floating dock and a one-mile perimeter nature/hiking trail.
*** NOTE *** From January until early May, the lake level is dropped about five (5) feet, so boating and fishing access range from difficult to impossible (though, arrowhead hunting is a fun activity you might enjoy during the low water months!).
Primative Campsite - A private 1.5 acre campsite with a firepit (and plenty of wood to burn in it) and direct access to the Lake of the Ozarks. The farm is very rural. We are 16 miles to the closest gas station, and 25 miles to town. There is no internet. Cell phone service is spotty at best.
Currently a working farm, we have 2 high tunnels on the property behind the house, and our original market garden.
Across the creek we are finishing up our 5 acre agroforestry planting. 3 acres of elderberries and 2 acres of blackberries.

The farm is located approximately 2 hours south of St. Louis.

The small rural town of Van Buren, Missouri is 1 mile away for supplies. A must see is Big Springs in the Ozark National Scenic Riverways Park 3 miles away. Other nearby attractions is floating the Current River, Alley Springs, Blue Springs, Rocky Falls, Peck Ranch and more.
Full hook up (water/elec/sewer/trash) located on County Road Harner Holler in Van Buren, Missouri. A total of 4 RV/tent sites are on the property. Located at the confluence of the Meramec River and Labarque Creek, my place (Matt's Place) is a ridge above a bottomland bowl of sorts.
The old iron truss bridge here is likely built in 1910 and it has a survey marker from 1932.
The creek has a nice little swimming hole, and a beach that is sometimes sand, sometimes, gravel, and sometimes a mix of both with some silt or even mud after a storm. It's peaceful down there to explore in the creek, wade while looking outward to an opening into the Meramec River. It's also fun to stand just at the mouth of the creek in the Meramec River. It's an awesome view upstream or downstream of tree lined banks, rock bluffs, and every now and then, passing boats, canoes, paddle boards, or kayaks. The old iron truss bridge hovers above the meeting of two waters. The water is cool and clean. Some fifty species of fish have been recorded in this creek, the most in all of Jefferson County and St Louis County. The bottomland has two levels, the lower bottoms down by the creek and the upper bottoms about a hundred feet from the creek. The upper bottoms has a clearing like a meadow with mowed grass.
My favorite things to do here include gazing up at a cottonwood tree that must be sixty feet tall. It's leaves in a breeze are like a thousand hands waving hello. The bottomland meadow offers just enough sky to see bats dance in the dusk air between the trees, then fireflies as it gets darker yet. Up top is where I live.
Just five miles off HWY 44 and HWY 109, at Eureka, MO, (30 minutes west of downtown St Louis, 18 minutes from Six Flags) this place sits on a ridge with great views above the Meramec River.

Unless there are multiple reservations, you will be allowed to hookup/stay at whichever site is the easiest for you to get parked at. Pine Valley is on 43 acres of beautiful green pasture and woodland. Take a hike on one of the trails around the property or go fishing or wading on the Huzzah Creek. Spend your evening roasting marshmallows around your private campfire.
Guests will have access to the 40 acres of land surrounding them. There are two ponds on the premise. Enjoy the quarter-mile walk to the old Dillard Mill Store, displayed in museum fashion at the entrance of Dillard Mill State Historic Site. Tour the old grist mill in working form, fish for sunfish, smallmouth bass and largemouth bass at the Mill, and take memorable photos. Just across from our main entrance take the half-mile trail through Mark Twain National Forest and skip rocks on the Huzzah Creek! Ask us about access to our private gravel bar on the Huzzah. You will pass it, and the private parking, on Dillard Mill Rd on your drive into Pine Valley
We may or may not be on the premise during individual rentals. If there are any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to reach out.
Other things to note
While this space provides most utilities and amenities you'd find at your home, it is important to note it is still a camping-style getaway. We do our best to treat the area, but you will encounter insects.
AT&T has limited cell phone reception in the area, Sprint is very spotty, and Verizon is pretty much unavailable for service. We provide the best free wifi available to help with communication back to the real world, but it is rather slow. The best wifi reception is near the General Store/Courtyard.
We try and keep the area well maintained. You may see ATVs/tractors on our property and on the gravel road.
Pets are welcome for an extra $50 per stay. Please note our dogs may be on the property. They are friendly and well-behaved, although sometimes curious. Other guests may have no-leash pets as well.
Park right next to your glamper. Arrive anytime after 4pm, just give us an eta to know when to expect you. If your glamper is not ready upon your arrival, feel free to explore our farm, visit Dillard Mill or head down to the Huzzah while we make it ready for your stay. Self Check-In is always the norm for added privacy. We won't bother you except to wave or maybe say hello if you're out and about. Please feel free to approach us with questions, niceties, or needs.

Comments:

2) We recommend repellent for ticks, chiggers, mosquitos, and other bugs during warm season.
3) The Cicada season usually starts in May. We recommend earplugs if that sound bothers you.
4) During heavy rain, there is a seasonal creek leading to the back of the property that can be difficult to pass without a 4X4. If you aren't driving a 4x4, park closer to the house on the gravel driveway.

Beautiful. I wasn’t able to stay until sunset but it was obvious that sunset is a marvelous experience based on the topography. The pool, jacuzzi and cooling pool were absolutely perfect. With the exception of the host I was the only one there the entire day. So it was a great time of solitude and relaxation.

35ft rv fit with lots of space. The area was well maintained. It's right on the water, a cove so not very many boats to deal with. They offer kayaks for use which was nice. Only one rv site so very peaceful.

Weekend Trip to D'Ranch at Clearwater
The cabin was so cozy and peaceful. It is in a beautiful spot and I loved taking an early morning kayak paddle. The farm is beautiful. I wish I could have stayed longer. Tracey is an amazing host, friendly and gracious. I made a mistake booking and she was so kind and patient helping me sort it out. She really goes above and beyond making sure everything is clean and her guests have everything they need.

The overland tent sites are great.But expect to bring leveling blocks to level your vechical. There close to the pool, have their own fire pit
when fires are allowed,and just a short walk to the comunity fire pit and other comunity activities that may be going on ( check calander).

Weekend Trip to Sunset Mountain
Sunset Mountain is a beautiful place. The Jesus Bus was an awesome place to stay. We left our own messages on the walls like others have when they stay there. Pool was very refreshing and the guest were all friendly. The host family was very inviting and we hope to be able to go there again sometime. Nice place to get away from the hussle and bussle of life.

It was just me and my dog that stayed on Michael’s property and we had the absolute best time. Michael welcomed us and gave us a rundown of the property and was very welcoming and kind. The property itself is absolutely pristine, I felt the love and care that has been put in there with I’m sure no shortage of laborious hours. We were just driving through so we only stayed one night, but I am hoping to return again! It was a 100 degree day, but relaxing in the lake right on site, I never even thought about the heat. There are perfect trees for setting up a hammock and I probably enjoyed that the most! No shortage of stars to see on a clear night, I would absolutely recommend to anyone.

I've been HipCamping a bit & this takes #1 for me. I can not express the gratitude and awesomeness of the owners and the care put in to their property. It was a veterans retreat for us. If you love kayaking gentle safe water, nature, outstanding sunsets, rock hounding, birding, you will love this quiet, beautiful place. Amazing people.

In the morning we walked the stock pond with out dogs! Its such a beautiful property! Very easy to navigate, plus the host we're super helpful. They even left me some eggs and water at the site since we planned to get in late. There was a good source of water for the RV as well as two different power boxes. If you wanted they had lots of tent sites too.

Weekend Trip to Matt's Place at Meramec n Labarque
It was a lifesaver having AC and a little pool to cool off in, very chill, kinda funky atmosphere Matt was very good about respecting my space and offering support in any . It was just what I needed for the Lions Gate weekend. Lots of birds and different critters. The chickens are fun to watch. Ellie is a gem, very sweet dog and protective. The place is close to a two lane road that can get a little busy but no one can see the property.

My best friend and I decided to go camping for the weekend on very short notice. We found this spot which was so nice and pretty. The creek wrapped around the campsites. The water is so clear and refreshingly cold. It might even be a spring. There is a beautiful sunflower field that is just a glorious backdrop at sunrise and sunset. The campsite is very spacious and private. It was a great weekend. Very relaxing and Ann and Dave were super friendly and worked around our tardiness getting there. Over all one of the prettiest campsites I’ve ever been to! I plan to go back soon but with a bigger group this time!! 10/10 recommend!
