    Welcome to the Double J! Of the 71 acres we own, about half is tillable and the other half is woods and pastures for our horses. Within that, there is a beautiful secluded 3-acre meadow nestled down along along a beautiful 1,200 foot stretch of the Zumbro River where we have 5 spacious tent/RV campsites. While the campsites are all adjacent to each other along the river, they are each very spacious (the smallest being 100' wide and 75' deep), with some mature trees scattered around. Each sites (except Site #1) is able to accommodate up to 8 people and more than one tent or RV. There is a small meadow above all the sites where campers can play catch or other games. We provide and maintain a centrally located outhouse and keep the entire area mowed throughout the year. All sites offer great shade trees (perfectly spaced for hanging up a hammock) and access to the river - great for those hot summer days! Water activities to be enjoyed include fishing, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding and tubing (equipment not included). Some campers will drop in upstream at the Covered Bridge Park and float down to their campsite. The Zumbro River, especially in the fishing hole, offers great fishing including Trout, Small-mouth, Red-horse, and an occasional Northern or Sauger. Campers are welcome to to meander out into our pastures to pet our two horses, Shiloh and Champ. Also, we are just over a mile from town where you can visit Covered Bridge Park which has a Frisbee golf course and a nice play area for younger kids. Reserving adjacent sites, or all of the sites, makes for the ideal setting for a large family or group camp-out. In order to prevent overcrowding, we do reserve the right to limit number of sites, or campers per site based on overall parties/campers in the camping area. We will notify you if there are any limits at the time of your booking. We enjoy being able to share our property with others, and it is our desire to promote a safe, peaceful, family-friendly environment, therefore, be sure to note, we do have a NO ALCOHOL policy. PLEASE NOTE: Be sure to read the "RV Details" on the site information page as the road to the camping area may limit the type or size of RV due to a couple dips, a sharper curve, and it's steeper slope. Also, keep in mind, we reserve the right to cancel any reservations due to heavy rains or floods that may require our sites some additional time to dry out sufficiently. Dry firewood can be purchased for $5.00/bundle.     Being at the far end of of our campground and our largest overall site, Site #5 is the most private of our five sites making it a favorite among campers. This site sits on a bend in the river offering a great view of the river both up and downstream. While the front of the site is 100' wide, the back of the site along the river is 180' wide, and the site ranges from 75' deep to 180' deep in the back corner. There is also a larger patch of mature trees creating a little more of a privacy barrier between the adjacent site. Site #5 is our most flat site offering the ability to park a camper(s) or pitch a tent(s) almost anywhere. This site is perfect for larger campers and will also easily accommodate larger groups. The river is typically 1-3' deep in front of this site and has a sandy bottom but may be a little muddy along the edges. Access to the river from this site is quite steep, but navigable for the more adventurous. Campers can find easier access to the river from an empty site or off the walking trail along the swimming hole upstream from Site #1.     Site #1 is a beautiful, picturesque, site located just below a set of rapids which provide a soothing background sound at your site, making it a favorite among campers. The site is about 100' wide and 75' deep and has the most trees of our sites keeping it mostly in the shade on those hot summer days. This site is located just a few yards downstream from the swimming/fishing hole. This site has an upper and lower tier to it with an easily walk-able slope between. Campers can park and set up their tents on the upper tier and the lower tier has a table and fire ring right next to the river. Access to the river from the site is fairly steep but navigable for those who are more adventurous (there are better access points to river several yards upstream off the walking trail past the swimming hole). The river is typically 1-3' deep in front of this site and has a sandy/gravel bottom. Since this site has a slope between the upper and lower levels and more trees, it has a less usable space than our other sites so is best suited for a couple tents or a smaller RVs/camper. NOTE: While you won't ever have any neighbors camping on one side of you, being the gravel drive down to the campground passes right next to the upper level of this site and the water spigot is located a few yards above this site, traffic from other campers passing by may be noticeable at times, especially on busy weekends (weekdays this is not typically an issue). Site #1 is the only site we are able to offer limited electricity (up to 10 amps due to length of power run) via an extension cord from an old outbuilding above site. There would be an additional cost of $5/night for this option. TIP - Being we do not reimburse campers in the event of rain (unless campground is flooded or too muddy), we highly recommend campers take advantage of Hipcamp’s Weather Guarantee option when booking.     Site #3 is popular for those campers who want easy access to the river and closer proximity to the porta-potty satallite. This site has an upper and a lower level, although more subtle than Sites 1 or 2. The upper level can easily accommodate a larger RV. The slope to the lower level is gradual enough where one can drive pull in with a smaller RV or camper. At about 100' wide by 90' deep this site is very spacious and has good shade and easy access to the river. The river is easily accessible and is typically 1-3' deep in front of this site with a sandy bottom (edges of river may be a little muddy.     Site #4 is very spacious at 100' wide and 90' deep and is the most open of all our sites, making it perfect for accommodating larger campers and multiple tents. While it doesn't have as many trees as the other sites do, there are still enough trees to get some good shade. Access to the river is slightly steep but navigable The site is pretty flat all around giving the ability to set up a camper or tent close to the river. The river is typically 1-3' deep in front of this site and has a sandy bottom but may be a little muddy along the edges.     The Private Peninsula (not part of campground sites 1-5), at this time, can only be booked in conjunction with our basement Airbnb located just above this site. While our basement Airbnb is currently being remodeled, we are allowing the use of the bathroom/shower with the booking of this site. When remodeling is complete, this site can be booked along with the Airbnb, making for a great for a group where some prefer to camp and a couple may prefer the amenities our Airbnb. This site sits on a small peninsula that juts out between the river and a stream that flows into the river, offering a spectacular view of the river and rapids. Site consists of an upper and lower level. While the lower level next to the river has easy access to river and limited shade, the upper level has plenty shade and a room to park. Both levels have their own fire pit. The river in front of the site transitions to rocky rapids but has a sandy bottom just above that is easily accessible for canoes and kayaks. The river here typically runs 1-3’ deep. Access to a fishing/swimming hole is just 25 yards yards down stream. NOTE: Vehicles with 4WD or AWD are required to get to this site as the drive to site is sloped and grassy. Also, at this time, this site can only be booked in conjuction with our Airbnb which is in the process of being remodeled. If you are interested in booking this site in conjunction with our Airbnb in the future please contact us prior to booking.     It was a beautiful spot! The camp sites were very close. I didnt feel there would be privacy had there been other campers there. Mybe a little spendy to go camping. $95.34 for 2 nights plus $75 for wood because i like to always have a fire going. On top of the cost, we had to keep dogs on leash...though there was great distances with trees to put lines up for the dogs to run on. The host was very kind and friendly. We were able to leave our bag of trash when we left. It was a good place, ill probably be baked whe it's very in season. Thank you for my 2nd camping adventure so far this year! -Vanessa

    We loved our experience at double J!! As more private campers, we were definitely lucky to have our pick of the lots since there were no other campers this time around. This space has 5 lots, within view of each other, along the river with a lot of field space and hamocking trees!! This space would be amazing for a family reunion or group camping! This time of year allowed for a pleasantly low river for walking along, fly fishing, and we caught a number of small cubs! The stars were glorious and we were visited by many deer and other woodland creatures in the evenings! It was great to have the ability to get fresh water, use an outhouse and have access to cut wood for a small fee! It was a neat perk to get to visit with the host's horse who was very friendly! What a lovely time it was, we couldn't be more happy with our experience!

    Great site! Site 1 and 5 are the best two I’d say, 1 for having the burbling creek sounds, 5 is better for more privacy. All of the sites are quite wide open, if there are other people there you will all see each other, but the sites are well kept and the stream they all overlook is quite beautiful. I will absolutely return. The hosts are nice and very communicative. Jeff seems like a great guy. Also the available wood is really nice to have, and when I purchased it was all VERY dry and easy to light and burn.

    Want to feel like your are away from everything but still within minutes if a town? The Double J is had There is tree coverage, an open field and all of the sites beautiful and situated in the banks of the zumbro river. The hosts are friendly, communicative and have wood available to buy on site. I highly recommend The Double J.

    Everything was lovely! Directions were clear. Jeff was who we interacted with, and he was a really cool guy. Very friendly and personable. We loved our #1 campsite! Sleeping to the sound of the river was so nice!

    Our family did a quick 2 night camping trip at Site #5. Prior to the trip Jeff communicated effectively on directions and expectations of arrival. He met us at the site on arrival and gave us a quick run down (drinking water, property lines, etc). Not only was Site #5 clean, but the entire property was in excellent condition. Five kids ranging from 7-13 explored the river, ran around the green space near the site and visited the horse multiple times. They firmly gave the area an A+. We are very grateful Jeff and Julie allowed us access to their beautiful property.

    We had a lovely experience at the Double J! Jeff and Julie were such welcoming hosts. The arrival instructions were clear and easy to follow, and Jeff greeted us shortly after arrival to make sure we had everything we needed and were comfortable! The property was kept is pristine condition and the sites were so peaceful and enjoyable right along the river. We enjoyed seeing their sweet horse Shiloh and the moon over the stream. Would definitely recommend this location and visit again :)

    Jeff greeted us as we arrived and answered all our questions. The sites are huge and nicely groomed. Lots of trees and shade. The river was audibly bubbling by our site but not accessible due to steep sides and old legs. But just walking down to the 4th site gave us entrance. Went wading and the water was so clear! Highlight of the trip for me. The whole time was guiet, peaceful, and relaxing. Definitely would go again! BTW this was our first experience with Hip Camp and it great and easy!

    My family loved camping on Jeff and Julie’s property. Everything was extremely clean and well maintained. My kids had a blast playing the river and catching fish. Jeff was accommodating and always made sure everyone had everything they needed. The entire property was picturesque.

    We literally only booked this to sleep for the night after a concert at treasure island but once we got there, we were pleasantly surprised by how amazing it was! We will definitely be back for actual camping!

    Jeff was an exceptional host! He made an effort to try and greet every camper when they arrived to ensure they knew where everything was and if they had any questions. We stayed at site 1 which is the closest campsite to the entry point. In my opinion, site 1 had the best view of the river. The site itself was large and you felt far enough away from the other campsites. However, there isn’t as much flat ground as the other campsites but still offered plenty of space for multiple tents. Overall, we had an amazing experience. The latrine was very clean and Jeff always made sure there was enough firewood available. Also, fresh water from the hose was right next to our campsite which was very convenient. We even managed to catch a few bass up the river from our campsite. If you are thinking about camping here you most certainly should give it a shot!

    My wife and I, along with our two little dogs, had a fantastic weekend at Double J Campsite. The campsite was impeccably maintained, and the hosts were incredibly friendly and attentive. The river added a serene and peaceful touch to our stay, perfect for unwinding. We appreciated the ample shade provided by the trees, which kept us cool and comfortable. Additionally, the other campers were far enough away that we knew they were present but never felt encroached upon. It was a quiet and relaxing experience, ideal for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle. We are already looking forward to our next visit and highly recommend Double J Campsite to fellow campers.
