Our stay at Rancho Del Nido RV Horse Camp was a relaxing sojourn in a peaceful, equestrian setting. Our kind host, Kim, welcomed my husband and I, and extended her immense hospitality upon our arrival. Kim gave us the lay of the land, and offered some fantastic local knowledge regarding nearby attractions and dining options. Thank you! There were several great spots on the property suitable for tent-camping, camper vans, or RV’s. The camping plot we chose had a panoramic view of the distant mountains and came equipped with water/electric hookups. Nearby, we had access to a picnic table, and chairs were set up for lounging, or enjoying a nice meal around a grand fire-ring. The cleanest outdoor bathroom ever was also conveniently close. In fact, the entire property was well-maintained and clean. After walking the grounds and saying hello to all the friendly horses, my husband and I relaxed and enjoyed all the varying, beautiful shades of indigo and orange as the sun slowly set behind the high mountains. We then settled in for a quiet night’s sleep, and enjoyed some supremely restorative rest. Thank you for sharing your gorgeous Hipcamp with us, and for your wonderful hospitality, Kim. My husband and I had a great time at Rancho Del Nido RV Horse Camp.

I would recommend this beautiful hidden gem to anyone who wants to escape their busy life to enjoy a bit of tranquility. The owners Dan & Kim are wonderful, hardworking people that open up their land and horse property to give us city people a chance to "live the life."

What a beautiful place, hosted by wonderful people, in one of the most stunning places in southern AZ. Situated on a 20 acre horse ranch and abutting 42,000 acres of public land, there are only 5 camp sites, all with power and water, with one easily accessible sewage dump. You can walk, ride bikes, horses or whatever out into the public lands right from your campsite. Sonoita is 4 miles down the road with several great restaurants, many wineries and a gas station. Our dogs were allowed to run loose with all the other camper’s dogs, and several other well behaved “locals,” which made for quite the scene. The vibe here is low key and quiet, and well respected by everyone there. We will be back.

Hidden gem with amazing hosts!
So glad we found this gem! We feel like we are home, the hosts are so welcoming to my family! Quick communication, helpful with anything we need or questions as well as let my kids “help” with the horses! My kids visited and fed the horses almost daily. The kids were beyond thrilled when we bought them a horse riding session! The horse they rode was so tame that it even knew to go super slow when my 1 year old was on getting a ride (with my husband helping of course) 😊 They have spent extra time hanging out and welcoming us onto their property. Beautiful views, quiet area that makes you feel like you are in another world! Trust me, you won’t regret booking a stay here and you won’t want to leave! 😉❤️

Breathtaking views, horses, dogs
We were only able to stay a night but we SO wanted to stay longer! This was one of our favorite camping experiences six months into our full-time camping adventure in a 24-foot TT. Kim met us at the bottom of her driveway in an ATV and had us follow her to the campsites. She was really nice and made us feel welcome and at home. She offered us our choice of several sites with water and electricity, all with breathtaking views of the orchard and distant mountains. There was a vey clean outhouse for us to use if we wanted, which we did. There were two other sites occupied and these were people who chose to stay for much longer. We met one, an artist with a dog named Pablo and he and I chatted up a storm, since I,m also an artist. My wife and I enjoyed walking to the different stalls and enjoyed petting the horses, regretting we weren’t going to be there longer to go for a ride, which Kim offers. The morning sunrise, after a rare windy night, took our breath away. We’ll be back!

Fantastic camping; dog friendly
This place is amazing—two miles off the highway. Beautiful grassland with views of the mountains. When Kim and Dan say all are welcome, they really mean it: RVers, trailers, tents, kids, dogs, horses. We were a bit away from the RV sites, and stayed in our ients and it was perfect. Great access to water spigots. Clean port-a-potty. Place to recharge. devices if we needed it. So quiet! I plan to come back next year and may bring my dog. It’s dog heaven Herrero.

Just Lovely
What a beautiful place to call home for a few days. We will for sure be back on our next big trip. Kim and Dan are so generous and kind, and we are sad to leave! The views are incredible and we enjoyed driving our Jeep around the blm land surrounding their property. The port-a-potty is super clean, for anyone wondering! Definitely a special place and worth staying at for as long as you can.

Arizona wide open beauty
It's a quiet and beautiful property in the middle of a gorgeous area. My dog is in heaven everyday. We can walk out onto the Empire ranch Conservation area of thousands of acres right from the corner of the property. Beautiful to be surrounded by the horses also. The beautiful Santa Rita Mountains are straight west. Kim and Dan are wonderful hosts and very caring. Lucky to be here.

Islands in the sky.
Rancho del Nido was an awesome place to spend 4 days camping. The views of the Mustang and Whetstone mountain ranges are stunning. Dan and Kim were so kind and welcoming. It was peaceful to wonder down to the see the horses and enjoy the tranquility of the stables. The ranch offered fantastic gravel trails right outside the property which we spent hours exploring on bikes. Some of the most sublime views we have ever experienced along Yucca Ash and Curly Horse Rd. There was a large communal firepit to have evening and morning fires and fresh water and outlet power was provided at each camp (or RV) site. Sonoita is just a few miles away if you need groceries or supplies. And just past is the town of Patagonia which is delightful. A lot of artists and free spirits live there and give the town a laid back, calming energy. The gravel loops off of Harshaw offered some of the best gravel trails and roads we have ever ridden. Beautiful scenery all around. We were pleasantly surprised at how green and lush the surrounding areas are. We had such a great time at Rancho del Nido and are planning a return visit in a few months. It is a wonderful place and we are lucky to have been able to visit.

Quiet & clean with friendly hosts
100% would recommend! Very quiet and well kept; open views and wonderful hosts. They were very patient answering questions and requests from our 7 and 9 year old. And, their pup wore our pup out. The dogs enjoyed chasing each other around the ranch. Access is convenient along a well maintained dirt road; close to Sonoita with Tucson and Patagonia a short drive away. Couple of FYIs. Some of the sites are not very flat so if you have an RV you may not get it very level. However, I know these are new owners so they may level the sites out for future visitors. There's always work to do on a ranch! We have a 28' travel trailer and were able to level it nicely at Site 4. With backing the TT at Site 4, we needed a 50' water hose to connect from the faucet to the back of the camper. We had to buy one from a local shop in Tucson, but since my husband and I drove separately it was not a problem for me to stop by and grab one on the way there (and it was probably a good idea to purchase anyway). Overall, a wonderful place to visit and stay. My husband and I would return and feel very luck to have found this quiet little corner of the world to stay when we are in the area.

Another great visit
This is the 3rd time we stayed here this year. Each stay was great. The camp site is easy to get to and the sites are well spaced out. We do not have horses but they are very pretty to admire. At night the stars are bright and you can hear the coyotes. One item of note, be prepared to be greeted by the camp official hosts - Timber and Daisy. They are sweet and are available to help you dispose of dog bones or steak leftovers. I believe that since they do not have thumbs thwy have Heather handle all the communication via text/email. We will certainly be back after the summer!
