This is an amazing space. Sandee is a wonderful host and the house had everything we needed for a simple, quiet get away. We made good use of the fire pit and balcony to look at the stars. We will definitely be visiting again.

Casita at Shiloh Ranch in mountains
The Casita was just right for our two couples to spend two nights as a jumping off spot for exploring the Painted Desert / Petrified Forest National Park. The two separated areas were nice for privacy, with shared kitchen downstairs and shared lounging space upstairs. Bonus: The night sky here is amazing! And Sandee is such a friendly host.

We loved staying on Sandee’s land….the cabin is small but had everything we needed especially in the kitchen!! The kitchen and shower are a tight squeeze but honestly it was all clean and wonderful! She had so many things in the kitchen that we didn’t need to unload our kitchen camping tote at all!
My parents stayed in the downstairs part and myself and three children stayed upstairs which was the perfect amount of space for us all! My kids highlight was the VHS player and assortment of VHS tapes (we had been tent camping with no electronics for over a week)
The land is beautiful and tucked pretty far away from a close big town so the sky was beautiful at night and barely any light pollution! There is small fragments of petrified wood alll over the land and it was fun to look around and walk the property
She had a wonderful top deck and a patio space with a very nice fire pit and grill on the ground level that we enjoyed each night and morning!
We will definitely be visiting again and staying in one of Sandee’s cabins again !
We had a quick 15-20min drive to Petrified National park

The place was very cute, private, and felt safe overall. It was also easy to find using the pin provided in the booking—just follow the exact location marker shown.
The upstairs area was especially charming and well put together. However, I did have some concerns about the downstairs. It didn’t seem to be cleaned thoroughly. When I pulled back the sheets to go to sleep, I noticed long, thin strands of what appeared to be female hair along with dirt in the bed. Because of this, I didn’t feel comfortable sleeping in it. Thankfully, there was a bin of extra sheets behind the bed, so I used a clean fitted sheet and a regular sheet, wrapped myself up, and slept on top of the comforter instead.
Additionally, there was an overwhelming number of spiders in the downstairs area, which made me uncomfortable. I counted at least 12 spiders, all different kinds of species. I understand that spiders can be normal in cabins, but this felt excessive. I even woke up to a spider staring at me from less than a foot away, which made me not feel as comfortable as I could have been. The shower floor didn’t feel hygienic, and the kitchen had an odor—possibly due to the water damage the host mentioned.
That said, the host was very friendly, and the space itself has a lot of potential. Overall, it’s a cute and safe place, but the cleanliness of the downstairs area could use improvement.

The guesthouse was warm, homey, peaceful, private, and quiet. The location was great for going to the national park and being away from it all. The massive supply of movies was fun. There were lots of kitchen supplies and extra blankets and stuff, which was nice since you're so far from any towns. Sandee paid us a visit and was very communicative, welcoming, and sweet.

Came to Shiloh Ranch with four friends on a road trip this past week and it was by far our best stop.
Sandee offered us kindness and hospitality, helped us with directions to our next destination, and informed us about the nature around us.
The casita itself was well stocked with plenty of blankets, cooking supplies, and seasonings
The property was stunning and we had a blast looking at the night sky and rummaging around looking for petrified wood
I could not recommend this place enough.

First of all Sandee was lovely and made us feel so very welcome.
Situated on a property that has a main house and multiple guesthouses, my family stayed in the smaller guesthouse. All amenities available meant all our needs were met. The house had plenty of room for us. Our little dog was equally welcome. The ranch was far removed from noise and nonsense, but only 20 minutes from the Petrified Forest south entrance. A beautiful setting!

Sandee was so helpful and kind. She called me even though we got in super late to explain where everything is. The space was clean and well oragnized- kitchen stocked with supplies and utensils if your lacking. We will 100% be coming back !

We loved staying here. It was quiet, the sunsets and stars are like nothing else. Sandee is super nice and has a gorgeous property.. easy to find. Over all a really pleasant place, we'd definitely stay again.

Sandee’s guesthouse at Shiloh Ranch was an amazing weekend getaway from the city. The upstairs was perfect for our teenage son and his friend to watch movies, play guitar, and just enjoy downtime. There was also plenty of space for them to explore the property and toss a football around. The guesthouse had everything we needed to cook meals inside or out on the grill. The location was beautiful and not a long drive from the Petrified Forest!

Shiloh Ranch was beautiful. We stayed in the guest house for one night on a roadtrip west. Wifi is strong, which is nice if you need access in a remote place. Great location for stargazing and access to the Petrified Forest NP. Everything was as expected, based on other reviews, except from a few things:
1. The guest house can get smokey if you don’t have a couple of windows open to pull air in for the fire.
2. The floors, nooks and crannies, were not the cleanest, we had some sweep a lot of dog hair up to avoid it getting all over us.
3. The headboard is made of some type of burlap and it seems to have some resident bugs living in there. My wife got bit a few times. We had to move the mattress to the floor to avoid being neighbors with bugs.
If the headboard issue can be remedied, I’d recommend the Shiloh Ranch guest house.

Sandee was extremely friendly and welcoming. The place felt like home. Our girls were extremely comfortable right away. I would absolutely recommend to anyone passing through the area who is looking for a special place to relax for a day or two.

Great Pieces of Petrified Wood!

Sandees place was so cozy and she was so welcoming! She even allowed us to wander the property to search for pieces of petrified wood. She’s 20 minutes from the petrified forest and was so very helpful to us navigating the area. Will recommend to friends in the future and may even come back next season!
