Site 3 - Sobremesa Farm
Our hosts were not only fantastic hosts, but genuinely wonderful people. They graciously welcomed us into the farm and ensured we had a marvelous stay. The farms mission is noble and in addition to the great camping, existing with the animals and in the environment they foster really contributed to an idealistic adventure. After our first stay here, we will absolutely be making a point to routinely return, and recommend you do too!

Site 2 - Sobremesa Farm
We really loved staying at Sobremesa for the eclipse. It is such a beautiful farm, and Juan and Robert were gracious hosts. We loved seeing all of the animals and exploring the lovely farm. Would definitely come back again.

Juan and Robert are wonderful hosts and their farm is beautifully maintained. We thoroughly enjoyed getting to meet them, their friendly team of helpers, the animals, and the land. Juan had many great recommendations for places to check out in the area during our visit. We stayed in site #2 (next to the red barn) for three nights at the beginning of September and enjoyed all of it. It was private and peaceful, but still close enough to town that we could easily visit and explore the area. We loved listening to the symphony of the cicadas and frogs at this time of year, as well as the roosters, chickens, guineafowl, and ducks. The outdoor shower is very nice and the composting toilet is clean and easy to use. We would love to visit again. Highly recommended.

Juan’s Sobre Mesa is a very beautiful organic farm. Staying there was a fantastic experience as we enjoyed the beauty of the land, the peacefulness and the lovely hosts. We had a wonderful night’s rest and left with a bushel full of produce from their farmers market stand.

We enjoyed camping at Sobremesa farm very much. Juan and Robert are excellent hosts. The place is beautiful, and the toilet is well maintined and clean (there is even a station for hand washing). It is very close to downtown bloomington (and the road to get there is extremely scenic). It was amazing to wake up in the morning to a beautiful sunrise with the roosters singing in the background.

I really enjoyed my stay at the farm. Several things to note for prospective campers—none of which were a problem for me: (1) The campsite is a small grassy area right off the side of the gravel driveway. You will hear cars coming and going, albeit infrequently, right outside your tent, (2) there is some road noise that continues into the night, (3) you will sleep right next to a rooster who gets going in the early morning hours, and (4) camp fires aren't available for tent campers. Most of these issues are easily solved with a pair of earplugs. The farm is a very beautiful and interesting place, with animals and a variety of crops. I thoroughly enjoyed walking around the property in the evenings. Juan greeted me when I arrived and showed me around. Overall, I had a positive experience staying the farm and would happily stay there again.

A beautiful farm practicing permaculture and wonderful hosts who helped give us a wonderful weekend getaway. The animals and plants are wonderful and it’s conveniently located near Bloomington, Yellowtree park, and Brown County. Highly recommend staying here if you are in the area!

I was given choices of where amidst the plants/trees and animals to camp. Each would have been great. Friendly and courteous owner and staff make your stay at this unique farm experience over the top. Don't miss this stay in a beautiful, hilly part of Indiana.

Came just for a quick overnight. Juan and his farmhands were friendly, polite, and made me feel immediately welcome. Property is peaceful and beautiful. The composting outhouse was unexpected but very clean. I’ll definitely stay again if in the area.

We were looking for a quick fun place to camp after exploring Bloomington and the hot air balloon festival and this was great!! My daughter loved exploring the farm and checking out the animals. Super friendly kitties. The hosts were very friendly. We bought some giant pears from the produce stand before we left

Beautiful farm with kind, welcoming and friendly hosts. Quiet area with incredible star visibility in the night sky, but not too far from the university to grab dinner. There are so many flowers, vegetables, plants, bees, and animals to admire. We appreciated buying some of their produce at the Sunday morning market. I also loved the outdoor shower! Thank you!

Sobremesa Farm was such a great stay.
I opened the gate, drove in, closed the gate, then Juan met me to cover the grounds at the farm. It was simple to navigate, had a toilet near the edge of the property for use, and an exterior shower I could use also. There were animals on the farm, as well as beautiful flowers & other plants growing.
I set up camp near the farmhouse, enjoyed the night, and was able to head out on my own. I would definitely stay at Sobremesa Farm again.

Great atmosphere of cats, peacocks, and chickens roaming around. Immersed in wildlife. Outdoor shower was a treat. Fresh produce is going to be tasty!

This was my first booking with Hipcamp, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was getting in late, but they were still happy to host and offered to meet me outside to make sure I had everything I needed! The farm was beautiful, and the hosts made themselves available by phone or text if I needed anything. Overall, it was a great first experience, and I would recommend this site to other travelers!

This is a beautiful organic farm with a great location near Brown Co. State Park, Nashville, and Bloomington. Juan was a gracious host and gave us good recommendations for restaurants in Bloomington and roads to bike on. Very responsive to messages. There are no fire rings or picnic tables, but there was water and a nice outhouse.

We were passing through Indiana on a road trip in our camper van. Although we arrived pretty late, the host was still very helpful and welcoming to us. We stayed just in front of the barn, as we were in the van and couldn’t easily access some of the spots a bit more inside the property. There was An outhouse as described, and a spigot for drinking water.
Since our stop was so short, we probably weren’t able to make the most of the stay. However, the property was so pretty, and I loved to see the animals milling around. I would recommend it, especially if you could spend a bit more time checking out the farm!

What a beautiful overnight stop! 9 sprawling acres of sustainable living tucked into a rolling landscape of midwestern backwoods. The hot water outdoor shower under the stars stole my heart. Juan and Robert greeted us graciously as we arrived and we spent the evening with complete privacy under the stars listening to the frogs croaking. If you’re looking for an off the grid experience (we did have water hookup and generator as needed) and have a love and respect for nature and sustainable living - definitely check this place out!

I enjoyed every minute of my time on the farm. Both Robert and Juan were very inviting and answered all my questions about the operations of the farm.
A much better time than staring at a wall in a hotel, if you like the outdoors.
I will be using Hipcamp for my next road trip.

We stopped here as the first stop on our cross-country road trip—what a great way to kick off the trip! The farm was beautiful and it was so peaceful staying in the company of the animals. The hosts were very welcoming and made this a wonderful stay.

Live off the land and sit back and relax. Great night stop for our family. Host has a great farm with animals and lots of local wildlife. Was worried about the outhouse but it was not bad. We stayed by the barn and had 120 electric. Our adult kid and a friend stayed in a tent by a pond. Great time.
