2024 total eclipse
In the path of the April 8, 2024 total solar eclipse.
The farm is one settled by the early pioneers who stopped going west in the early 1800s after they crossed the Eel river in what was then Owen County, Indiana.  Later, it became part of Clay County with the addition of Cass Township.  This working farm is comprised of 200 acres of rolling pastures and woodlands in the heart of Hoosier Hospitality - Indiana.  Learn more about this land: Tent, car, and RV camping with a place for your horse too! You get your choice of where to hookup or pitch your tent and also enjoy all of the nearby attractions. There are state parks with swimming, and the Exotic Feline Rescue Center which is a little like going on a Safari! Nearby attractions include the Parke County Covered Bridge Festival and the Croy's Creek Traders Fair.  We are within a mile of the Eel River and Cataract Lake is also very close for boating and fishing.  Other attractions include the Owen/Putnam State Forest and McCormicks Creek State Park.  An abundance of wildlife can also be seen at the campsite. Tent, car, and RV camping with a place for your horse too! Latham Farms Life Sanctuaries
We arrived at 10pm after requesting a reservation only 3 hours earlier; Larry was waiting for us and showed us two site options to choose from, trying to make things as convenient as possible for us at the late hour. Our campsite was private and firewood was left for us in the fire pit. Larry was quick to respond to questions too--would recommend!

Easy access of I70
I needed a spot off I70 on my way cross country and found Latham Farms. I met Larry and followed him to the campsite not far from his place and posted up in a great little mowed area next to a pond. Fireflies were all time that night and the spot was clean and quiet. Great night sleep before getting back on the road. Thanks for hosting Larry!

Passing Through w/my dogs
Nice secluded area of the property and really quiet. Great spot for an overnighter as I passed through. Thanks Larry!

Quiet location, friendly host
The host was very kind and the site was quiet and private. The electric was set up to accommodate 30 and 50. There is also a water hook up. Although it’s a bit tucked back by a corn field, there is level land to park with a short distance to drive off-road. The actual location is a bit distant from the Hipcamp displayed location and is not a quick on and off- but it is a nice drive (just follow the speed warnings because there are a few sharp curves!). The only comment is that the water had a very strong sulfuric smell. Also, recommend communicating to the host via phone call for quickest responses as opposed to text or app.

Larry was very accommodating, when we wound up arriving very late he provided great directions and we got to the 50amp spot with no problem! Charged our Tesla overnight so we could continue our road trip the next day! Very secluded and lovely property!
