Weekend Trip to Rosendam Farm

Beautiful horse farm within 10 minutes of Hillsboro. Great to wake up to the birds and the beautiful trees. Liz was extremely friendly and accomodating. We parked our camper in her pasture and enjoyed the privacy and rural setting.

We stayed in our Roadtrek Van under the apple tree in the grass field, it was relaxing with lots of birds singing. Liz was welcoming from the start, even sat down for a chat. Close enough to the highway for ease but traffic sounds were not bothersome. Would like to stay again & meet the horse/mules :)

Absolutely gorgeous spot!! Dave is incredibly kind. He came and introduced himself as well as a brief review of the rules. The lake is just stunning and these easy beach access well. The sites are well maintained and decently spaced apart. Thank you, Dave, for a wonderful time!

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay! The campsites are spacious and very well organized. We loved seeing the birds fly around, hearing the frogs at night, and even had deer pass by our camp while we were sitting around the campfire. The beach across the road was very nice and it was fun to say hello to the sheep and lama next to the site. Dave has created a beautiful space for people to camp and we hope to return again someday!

Rock Crick Acres is a little slice of Oregon heaven. The location is lovely —tucked into a quiet, green stretch of land that feels remote while still being easy to find. The creative touches, trees, babbling creek, and open skies made for the perfect retreat. Our host was warm, responsive, and helpful—offering clear directions and thoughtful communication along the way. You can tell they genuinely care about creating a great experience for campers. When we first arrived, the dogs barked to let us know they were on duty and we had our concerns that it was going to impact the stay but they quieted down once they got used to us and our dog and weren't much of an issue at all for the rest of our stay. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to unplug and soak in the natural beauty of Oregon. Would absolutely come back!

Excellent property. Host and pet are friendly and nice. We enjoyed being close to what we needed but also out of the city a bit. Really spacious stay. Our first Hipcamp experience and it was top notch.

1 night at The Lake Pasture

This camp site was superb! Dave was very helpful and welcoming. The beach was a little wild - strong winds! but a totally awesome walk and lots of cool shells at your feet, and birds flying over your head (bald eagles, herons, pelicans, gulls). The lake was a beautiful place to sit and drink morning coffee, and cold for a refreshing dip! The animals on site were so cute and inquisitive. Dave also provided some water for washing and cleaning.

2 nights at Helvetia Hideaway

What a fantastic location! Very peaceful and private. We stayed here for 2 nights and it was amazing. Sit outside and enjoy the trees and the meandering deer as they come thru the yard. Fantastic directions and instructions. Thanks and we will be staying again if we are in the area.

2 nights at The Lake Pasture

We enjoyed our stay at the Lake Pasture. We spent two nights camping and loved sitting on the dock, birdwatching and feeding the llama and sheep. If you enjoy birdwatching, you will be pleasantly surprised at the number of bird species around the lake. The property is close to Pacific City and several hiking spots. We did not go to the beach across the road from the property since they did allow driving on the beach and we were not fans of that. However, there are plenty of beaches at the state parks to enjoy free of vehicles. The campsite was very quiet and peaceful at night. During the day there was noise from the cars passing by on the road, but it was not too bad. Would definitely stay here again!

My wife and puppy and I really enjoyed camping with our travel trailer at the lake lot. It was Mother's Day, there was a musician in the tasting room, and it was beautiful and peaceful, and we would love to do that again soon. We happened to be the only ones there that night and it was a wonderful and dreamy experience.

What a gem of a place to camp! Very quiet and surrounded by nature. The river is beautiful and the sound of water flowing by at night so relaxing. Doug is an excellent host and had a nice spot prepared on the river rock for a fire. We really enjoyed our stay!

I love camping, but sometimes it's just a lot to manage with the family. Having an indoor bathroom with a hot shower near the river was amazing. Having a counter with a kitchen sink, coffee, creamer, and all the most elaborate fixings was divine. Having a table near the site for cooking and meal prep was also amazing. It was camping with luxury and access to the water, which suited us just perfectly.

Located an hour west of Portland through Oregons wine country. We are located in Scoggins valley which is home to Henry Hagg lake and the Scoggins valley park. The Lake offers a bunch of recreation including swimming , boating ,fishing ,hiking , biking and paddle board rentals. The camp site is situated on the bottom of my property a half mile from the lake. It is a fairly secluded campsite with room for up to 6 tents. Nestled in the woods there is a nice verity of sunny and shady spots a campfire spot, a picnic table and a porta potty. Sain Creek recreational area is just off our road at the lake with C- ramp another quarter of a mile around the lake. All of the lake is a park so you have to enter the park to come to our spot.

Hurlys Hideaway

Please be careful when using Google maps, for whatever reason it has taken several people to other places other than mine. I posted a picture of the entrance of my property, hopefully this will help. Hurlys Hideaway is a very nice location located approximately 2 miles from the town of Tillamook. Very close to the beach Sand Lake various Rivers for fishing kayaking swimming Etc. Approximately 4 MI from Netarts Oceanside area, Netarts Bay, Cape Mears. A very nice location to be able to access all of these activities in Tillamook County. My land is Timber, some clearings, we'll see how this goes I'm just getting started. Also, I just learned that the transient tax for Tillamook Oregon is an additional 10% and I hate to do this but I'm going to have to raise my prices $5. If you are coming from Town, I'm 2 mi. from the hospital west on hwy. 131. Look for the purple Minnesota Vikings bus shack with the eggs for sale sign. I also put up a hipcamp sign just up my driveway a bit. If you are coming from the south on Fraiser road, turn right when you come to hwy. 131. I'm less than a quarter mile on your left.

Rainforest Glade

Rare river front with ancient temperate riparian rainforest with room for 1 sprinter/ camper van / truck under the tree canopy along the “soapstone run”on the Necanicum River 12 minutes drive from Cannon Beach or Seaside. IMPORTANT, campers must have camp toilets . The site is a few steps from the river that will have a river rock fire ring for camp fires on the gravel bar .My home is just west of the site but guests will have privacy . There are river otters , beavers, a resident herd of elk often on or along the lane to the property!, Barred owls, which are hooting as I write , deer, a pair of bald eagles that nest downstream and a diversity of other wildlife. We have a blueberry patch and 15 heirloom apple trees that guests will be welcome to pick fruit for their breakfast and lunches for hiking /biking adventures when in season . During spring / summer the soapstone run remains deep enough for swimming. I am a mostly, retired restoration ecologist with a place based knowledge of the north coast and will be happy to share “ locals only “ hikes and special experiences you won’t find on the internet for north coast exploration. My intention is to provide a no impact/ sustainable camping site near the beach that are not available elsewhere near CB and Seaside. It is a natural pad for your RV on river rock and wood chips as a base surrounded by native temperate rainforest just outside your door . Sea run trout use the “ soapstone run” from July through October and can be caught ( ideally on a fly rod ) at dawn and dusk with steelhead and salmon from October to March . It’s considered one of the very best steelhead runs on the Necanicum. There is a river cobble / gravel bar that is perfect for evening campfires only a few steps from the parking pad. It can accommodate RVs up to 24 feet to park in a forest glade setting just a few steps from the river . I live at the end of an easement road that will require campers to drive Slowly to the RV site. Campers will be provided some camp fire wood, there are no other amenities on the I look forward to sharing the special place we live and not well know hiking experiences and other activities with hipcampers .

The location is central and half an hour to just minutes away from water bodies Hagg Lake, Nestucca River, Yamhill River, little Niagara Falls, Mill Creek, Baker Creek, Rainbow Lake and more… Such as the Carlton public pool. If your looking to jaunt from camp a little further, we are located a little over an hour and a beautiful drive to the Pacific Coast and about an hour from Portland. Although in the middle of the country woods, we are surprisingly only two and a half miles from the adorable and quaint town of Carlton. So beside the views, you’ll be alongside some fantastic eateries and outstanding winemakers. Being raised in the community, and over ten years of experience in the local food and wine industry, I can give recommendations aplenty. ꕥ The property has been in our family since the late 60’s and has recently been transferred in ownership to the next generation! It’s been a large adjustment with many precious memories in tow. In hopes to carry on the legacy we opened up camp mid-summer 2021, and it’s a work in progress (as work normally is!), but has been a beautiful experience being in a position to share. There are two family homes on the property with people who truly admire this land we have been given so we do ask you to respect our process in this adjustment, as we miss our grandparents and parents who have worked their entire lives for us to be here. With the work of these past couple seasons, and thanks to our fellow campers, we have been able to lay more gravel, get a more fluid bathroom situation established, and have purchased a 20ft stargazing tent that is in the works of being listed this season! Green Crest is an active Memorial Park (cemetery) adjacent to Highway 18 between Portland and the Oregon coast on the South side of Sheridan. This property makes a great stop over while en route to your final destination, but is also a great getaway if you'd just like to relax in a natural setting while having conveniences near by. **if you have an rv that you are planning to back into the site, please enter via the 'exit' as it will allow better positioning to back in. otherwise use the drive marked entrance.** If you have young ones, the park next door has a playground and a stocked fish pond. We also have a pond on sight that is perfect for viewing birds, beaver and having morning coffee. You're also welcome to bring your kayak and or paddle boards to get out on the water for fishing or just floating the pond. There is the occasional Deer, coyote and raccoons all around on the property. Two minutes from your site, you will find 24 hour gas and diesel; Subway, Riverside Cafe, Bennie Huies Chinese and the local Grocery store. Did I say there is a Dairy Queen 5 minutes way? Nearby Ballston Road offers a great rural road system from which to explore by bicycle. Points of interest both out in the wild and more metro are all within an hour drive. Dauenhauer Family Campground

This property is owned by Carl Dauenhauer and was initially operated as a multi-functional farm raising a thousand acres in various crops. In the early 1980's Carl and his children began planting grapes on the property and now the vineyard is the predominate feature for the farm. Most of the vineyard production is sold to wineries located across the state, however the family does retain a small amount of grapes each year for their private wine label "Hauer of the Dauen". You are welcome to stop by the farm for wine tasting on Saturday and Sunday's 12:00-5:00pm. The park and campground area is a recent addition to the farm and had been a vision of Carl's for quite some time. Carl usually goes for a walk through the vineyard in the during sunrise and sunset, weather permitting, and he loves to share his life-story with any campers who want to chat.

James & Patricia's Oasis

20 years ago James and Patricia purchased land that had been logged multiple time, and built a house to raise a family, and watch the forest regrow. James loves trains and this area had a logging operation in the early 1900's that included railroads, donkey engines and logging camps in the area. In the 1980's several 10 to 20 acre parcels were sold to people who wanted a piece of the country life. James and Patricia now live on one of those parcels and look forward to the next generation enjoying the country life. When James and Patricia bought the property, the previous owner had cut down most of the trees and would mow most of the land. The land was allowed to recover with alder being the first forest which replenished the soil. In a few areas scotch broom (invasive plants) took hold. Not wanting to use toxic chemicals that could leach into the water supply getting rid of scotch broom was a challenge but now there is large meadow with baby Christmas trees growing (marked by the red flags). In many other places douglas fir has planted itself along with new cedar trees. There is beautiful undergrowth that includes thimble berry, Oregon grape, candy stripe and many other wild plants. There is red huckleberry growing in various places and makes a great snack when they are ripe.Speaking of wild, there is a lot wildlife here. Several species of birds live here including family of humming birds. Sometimes you will see grouse, geese, ducks, swallows, red tail hawks, even a glimpse of a bald eagle. There are wild bunnies, gardener snakes, frogs, salamanders. If you go along the trails you might see signs of deer or coyote. There are currently 2 horses and a llama that are living in the back half of the property. Sometimes Larry the llama comes out for a visit. He is shy on not really domesticated but like all llama's curious. There are chickens that live near the garage and garden (that's why dogs must be on leash). Learn more about this land:Pitch your tent in a shady meadow next to a small pond. Enjoy the serenity and the coastal mountain breezes flowing through the tree tops. There are hiking trails through forest land. Wake in the morning to birds singing, and fall asleep to the frogs in the pond. Clear nights and you can see a lot of stars. During the right season there are blackberries, red huckleberries and thimble berries. The Banks-Vernonia Linear trail State park and LL Stub Stewart are both near this beautiful little space.
